  1. Two eight month olds equals a buggy or two clogging up space and that's not something you want to veer around when you're out on the sauce.
  2. I've been going in there since I was 15. It used to be great. It was my local for many years and first port of call. The atmosphere was ruined when they took the booths out in the small end bar in the 80s and got rid of all the decent bar staff. Also they cut down on the bar staff and it was then that the waiting to be served for ages started and I looked elsewhere for a regular slurp and started to venture more into East Dulwich. It is still a nice place to sit out front when the sun is out and to watch the world go by though but I fear it will be become more stuffy once it turns into a hotel and whilst it is owned by M&B the food will always be crap.

  4. I understand that new borns sleep when they want and on reflection that were probably wetting the baby's head so to speak and good luck to 'em. I love little babies and all of the joy they bring, just don't want them down the pub while the rest of their friends block up the pavement with the buggies. And for what it's worth the sling maybe so 'new dad' but they're also far more practical aren't they?
  5. At Seabag - The Alleyns Head. Yep! Dull dull dull.
  6. Indeed. Puts your faith back in humanity.
  7. The buggy brigade outside Franklins weren't just young mums they were young dads too. I think one of them was showing off a new born to their friends (fair enough) but blocking up the whole pavement and at 7.30pm was annoying for everyone else trying enjoy a drink.
  8. Originally it was due to reopen in December but from what I've heard it could now not be until next summer. And still nothing is happening with the Grove Tavern and Half Moon either. You're welcome to try speaking to Dulwich Estates about the latter two but you'll probably get nothing out of 'em.
  9. Three down. Capoue to Watford for ?7 million.

  12. Indeed. I'd watch that.

    Spot on *Bob*.
  15. For your own sanity... go down the pub.
  16. I was outside Franklins the other night. I counted five buggies blocking up the pavement at 7.30pm. Don't get me wrong I don't dislike children I just don't want them running around while I'm trying to have drink with some friends. This tune is for any of the locals who let their nippers run around like mad things unsupervised.
  17. My window cleaner comes around about once every six weeks. Cost me a tenner. Hardly breaking the bank is it.

    Summer songs

Revolutionary. "Coz summer's here and the time is right for fighting in the street, boy."
  19. Here you go Mick. http://www.daviscofferlyons.co.uk/news/detail/east-dulwich-double-for-davis-coffer-lyons/1117#.VZacfZVRGM9
  20. Must be worse for you being there. I'm fortunately on what is normally a quiet road but when something heavy goes over the ramp I feel it.
  21. Ramps are a complete and utter outrageous waste of public funds. I have one outside my flat and whenever a heavy vehicle goes over it if I'm sitting in bed I can feel the building shake a little.

  23. Yeah, waiting for it to open.
