  1. Robbin, you're a snob.
  2. And tins of tomatoes and tuna, toilet roll, toothpaste etc etc, all those sort of basics much cheaper than anywhere else.
  3. Maybe you chose not to read all of my post all congratulating you and the Arsenal and Arsene Wenger in particular PD? I never mentioned Wilshire and I don't have a problem with what he did.

I went in there once. They thought I was one of the chosen ones. I quickly got out of there before a cult formed around me.
  5. Is the dental service at Kings free?
  6. There was a Ray who drank in the Palmie who was commonly known as Razors, not, I think because he was handy with a cut throat but because he rarely shaved. He was also referred to sometimes as the 'old man'. I would on occasion score a bit of puff off him. Nice fella.
  7. The shop front has been like that for as long as I care to remember.

  9. Ray, I know has definitely passed. I also remember Ted ending up regularly on that bench and in bad shape. I can't imagine him being alive now. He was old even then. I should think he's long gone too. And Keith, the manager at that time passed last year.
  10. I remember Ted, nice fella but a hopeless barman. Always pissed. I've forgotten his brother's name (possibly Ray, loved jazz) but I'm pretty certain they're both six feet under.
  11. Fox And Lou. You're forgetting I was there too. Plenty of fights in the Uplands, EDT, Foresters, Cherry Tree and of course The Mag. And I remember some really nasty ones, glasses, blades and plenty of blood spilt. Not nice. You're romanticising of the past is complete and utter bollocks.
  12. It's Jah Lush and I want my cup.

You don't half talk a load of old bollocks. Your shtick has become terminally dull.
  14. I remember when it was two bars. It wasn't that warm then either. You're right about the owner's attitude to staff.
  15. "Average eateries" - Bromley = average shops. Same difference. DH. The Bishop isn't my cup of tea but I do recall being in there a few years ago and a couple of girls I'd got talking to had come all the way over from Sutton to be there. I couldn't believe it. Mind you, Sutton isn't that great either. But coming all the way from Sutton to drink in The Bishop, well, I was speechless.

  17. Sorry, cross posted. God, I wish I hadn't.
  18. Good grief! Words almost fail me. I don't know any 'anonymous' restaurants on Lordship Lane, Louisa. They all have a names. Could you elucidate for us?
  19. Fair dos. Point taken.
  20. It is. I agree wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, I believe that's the going rate for Moretti these days. I think The Great Exhibition charges the same price. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
  21. Yeah, I think the English translation would be 'bundle'. Pronounced BUNDOOOOOOOOOOL!
  22. Expensive! You want a vulgar display of wealth do you? I doubt the old lady cares either way. And why should she.
