  1. I hate the LTN?s but have no problem with school streets
  2. I?ve said it before - I agree that we need to encourage other forms of transport where possible- I cycle a lot locally to work. I am horrified by the dreadful congestion that has been created by the LTN?s. To my mind these are creating dreadful pollution. I have several friends and work clients who live or have business?s in Dulwich village and they HATE these road closures.
  3. Love this
  4. Oh dear lord what a bloody nightmare?
  5. The south circular was closed both ways from harvester to Dulwich college. The signs directing traffic were pushing them thru the village (this was at 3.03) which means all those cars will get fined. Wonderful joined up thinking. Cannot wait for may
  6. I know several people who live in Dulwich Village and absolutely hate the LTN measures - I have yet to meet a single person in this area (East and west Dulwich) who support these road closures in any way.
  7. Friern road receiving deliveries most days
  8. From experience, a lot of crime is not dealt with as there is no capacity- many times the police do not attend - there is no point- so they give you a crime ref number and that?s it. Their numbers have been depleted over many years (we all protested about the closure of the ED police station to no avail) . A bit like how we all predicted what would happen when the ED post office sorting office would close. The horrific reporting of this particular occurrence and lack of police interest says it all.
  9. Bottom line - ltns are creating massive congestion, stationary traffic and increased pollution. As a cyclist that is not good for me, and I imagine not good for the people who live or walk along these congested roads.
  10. I cannot wait for our councillors to start knocking on doors when the elections are due :)
  11. I have a parcel for you
  12. I cycle along the south circular three days a week (to and from work so twice a day) so I am wondering what the pollution levels are now since the cars etc are stationary or very slow moving. Remind me of the aims? Lower pollution?
  13. Rent on lordship lane is probably around -?80-?100k - same in Sheffield??
  14. The duty thing is a huge con- it only applies to 40 gallon barrels (that places like weatherspoons have) all independent or craft ales come in 20 - 30 gallon barrels so they do not qualify. Great photo op for the govt - whilst the reality is they are pandering to their mates who donate to the party whilst real honest entrepreneurs are of course shafted. Plus of course all overheads and cost of sales are going thru the roof for the pub/restaurant industry- food up 20%, staff- if you can find them, 10-15%, utilities- 250-300%, rents, 15-20% - so there is no way your av pint is going to lower in price?
  15. I think the new tack taken by the councillors (expressed in an email to me by one of them) is that they can?t take out the LTN?s even if they wanted to because central govt would fine them. govt made them put them in, it?s not our fault etc. Tbh I think the money they have raked in would more thank cover any financial punishments
  16. Herne tavern have them
  17. Agree with Hearblock 100%
  18. I think Ulez is quite different to any other recording - there is no manpower to check for infringement even if you have the time and date. So frustrating- we had a personal car crime and i suggested to the police that I would personally sit thru any cctv to save them the trouble (I am dbs checked) and they told me there is no recording available.
  19. Councillor Richard Leeming has confirmed in an email that Rye Lane will shortly reopen to buses - let?s hope this is the case
  20. Yup have challenged 35 pcns -all incurred before we received notice of the offence (6-8 weeks before receiving) some have been written off and so me taken to the next level? fingers crossed but not banking on anything. Funny how done were accepted and done not - all challenged on the same basis.
  21. So she?s saying they weren?t going to take any notice anyway? So why the **** was all that money spent on a consultation?? There should be a vote of no confidence in this lot if it was possible?
  22. Nope
  23. And I bet it is a friend of Tory govt minister who owns the company producing the books?.
