  1. It?s over ?1000 as they appealed on the basis of unclear signage and massive delays in receiving notice of wrongdoing- and of course the fines escalated whilst being appealed
  2. What frustrates me is that the signage is not very prominent and the gap between the infringement and the issuing of the penalty- a small local business that works in the area (dulwich village in particular) managed to incur around 25 pcns before realising their mistake - a gap of 5-8 weeks before the first fines dropped thru the letterbox.
  3. I would like to add that if anyone else has a similar experience there or feels threatened at any time please go into the Herne (when open) where the staff can keep you safe and contact who you need to. Edited to say pretty sure this applies to any local businesses- I remember Emily?s fish bar helped in a similar situation.
  4. Oh crikey I thought It was just me with the anti - owner thing!! Delighted someone else is as angry as me !!!
  5. Yup same thing here - have book marked since
  6. I am so disappointed in our council - they have presided over the most astonishingly decisive policy which has created anger and disbelief- the principal aim is good but the implementation a total f***k up. I am a good weather cyclist working for a lot of different small businesses- this is having a desperate negative impact on small local businesses- if there was some sort of permit based thing which allowed businesses with a proven record of operating in the ?zone? and stopped needless journeys?
  7. A small landscaping business has just been hit with a flurry of fines - but they have taken 2 months to arrive which means they have been accruing loads in the interim. Please no one suggest they use a bicycle to transport heavy materials?. Looking at appealing as this feels just wrong for there to he such a delay in sending out
  8. No it is all paid for parking now - there is pay by phone info I believe on the few signs there
  9. Part of the problem is that breweries have put their prices up so the cost price to pubs has been seriously jacked up
  10. .
  11. Legalalien - yes me too - it seems the whims and fancies of some people who may have no connection with an area are steamrolling an agenda. One imagines there to be due diligence- but there are many Southwark employees who are not familiar with the area at all (I have a friend who lives in lewes and a relation based in Nottinghamshire who both work for Southwark council. I feel there needs to be an understanding of an area before imposing such changes and a willingness to examine the results.
  12. Lots of green signs on south circular- don?t blame them!!
  13. Taken to park wardens office
  14. I am utterly against the current implementation of the LTN?and the dreadful impact on the majority of ED residents but I applaud Karim in showing how adaptable cargo bikes can be. A real option for some - but I?m afraid my annual trip to the tip is very much larger than that shown!😂 I am lucky enough to have an e-bike which I use when possible or agreeable (sorry don?t do cold or rain) but I am frequently carrying a lot of boxes, files, building materials- so I have simply resigned myself to a 10 min journey taking 30 mins now.
  15. joe lycett near the Herne tavern this evening
  16. I am amazed that our local councillors are presiding over a project that has caused so much anger, divided communities , damaged local small businesses after a really awful time abs to cap it all - caused horrific increases in pollution to the majority of our community. There are a number of streets that house very wealthy people - wide streets, large front gardens, but key routes that are now very quiet. I know several businesses and residents in the shut off streets of DV - business has dropped, and the residents hate being trapped. There is no allowance for care workers or social care. If anyone can tell me this is all fine then I am flummoxed. I have contacted councillors and it?s like dealing with a programmed robot.
  17. Always liked the shop - better than have a chain. I think you need to be realistic about where you live.
  18. Xero or quickbooks
