There are a few to be heard in Dulwich Woods, and at least one in Ruskin park - so probably not unusual

When you read that people have travelled from London to Wales (because they thought they could but got turned back) then they will be the people who will be excreting all over the place -

Yes- ever since we were told we could travel, some people have been going far afield and everywhere smells like a toilet...

unfortunately when people were told they could travel they did- that means that people are coming from far and wide to other peoples' locales. Then those people have to travel to fing a less crowded open space...no toilets are open and people are selfish. -

If music is not being delivered in school then that is the fault of the school and the governors. https://www.artscouncil.org.uk/sites/default/files/download-file/ACE172%20Music%20Education%20for%20Governors%20-%20WEB.pdf Before I went into teacher training I had to spend 2 weeks in a local primary (in Dulwich) and even the maths and science provision was appalling- no sign of music. That was 20 years ago so hopefully things have changed

How absolutely disgusting that they have to tweet to ask 'residents' to keep 'our' parks clean- how do they know it's 'residents'? Do people really destroy their own open spaces- judging from the number of cars parked in Eynella, Eastlands Crescent etc I doubt if it's 'residents'.

Practically all of Bristol is a monument to the slaves he exploited (but then slavery was a legal practice at the time and had been for aeons,) as was the exploitation of poor children as young as three by the Northern mill owners and cities up there are monuments to those abuses.... thank goodness most of us have moved on (after all there is still plenty of modern day slavery going on all over the world including the UK- and as for sex slavery in all its pernicious and blatant forms..)

Foxes eat pests like rats and mice so if you feed them they will not have to act as our natural pest controllers...maybe London is overrun with rats and mice because people feed the foxes- either deliberately or inadvertently.

Since I am a teacher myself I am well aware of the amount of time spent outside the classroom doing work- especially now as online lessons and support is being provided....why shouldn't teachers have had a half-term holiday? The Whitsun half-term is usually less burdensome on lesson prep and marking etc because it is in the middle of exam time and as far as I'm concerned it's the first break since last September! (secondary and sixth-form btw)

Bearing in mind that people can be asymptomatic, this ignoring of the lockdown is dangerous for the vulnerable of our society.

Also interesting to that is the nefarious actions in Eire and the UK that led to the non-aboriginals being there in the first place....

Wouldn't she be entitled to stay in the property until midnight on the 30th June as she has paid the rent?

This just occurred to me reading another thread that there are many builders around here doing extensions and refurbs and they are causing a nuisance in many cases- no dust control, excessive CONTINUOUS noise (should be 2 hours on, 2 hours off) and working outside of designated hours. No social distancing, littering, overfilled skips left for days etc etc Some have hoarding around their sites with contact details- good for them- but there are some that don't and it is not right that they have been able to carry on working and the Council is not providing the Environmental Control Service when they breech the rules, (because of the lock down) and the neighbours have no way of contacting the company except by talking to the builders- some of whom don't speak English and some are downright rude. Southwark should make it compulsory for builders on sites to display their contact details.

A small plea from a local corona sufferer

gabys1st Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Re builders..check out by laws on thier working > hrs, and report if these are being roken. It's easy to check out the hours on the Southwark website but they were not doing anything about it during lock down and the only reason I got mine dealt with is because I had the foreman's mobile number which I passed on to the council and they phoned him up. The problem with the domestic project builders is that they will flout ALL the rules and regulations about hours, noise control, dust control etc( e.g.litter and fag butts being thrown into my garden, tiles and bricks falling into my garden)overfilled skips and the rubbish getting blown up the street until you complain to them and then you get sarcastic comments and rudeness from some of them- it is VERY frustrating. It should be made COMPULSORY (in fact that is something Southwark could put in their building regulations) to have a board up with contact details because it is very stressful continuously having to deal with these people at any time- but especially when you are stuck at home sick or having to work from home. -
Interesting that you should post this in the Family Room Discussion. I could be very wrong but I assume the majority of readers here will be women. Ask them how they feel about whether or not education abut the Women's Movement , Homophobia and LGBT issues has changed anything. One of the BIG problems is that in so-called 'faith' schools they exempt themselves from even discussing LGBT issues and contraception. And nothing will change in September because these 'faith' schools will still be able to wriggle out of this area of humanity - and they certainly will if the Birmingham school protests are anything to go by. In England, by Law, Key stage 3 (year 9) children have to be taught about the Holocaust- the ultimate result of extreme racism. (Has this changed the anti-semitic attitude of some people?) In Citizenship (which deals with Equality directly, racism, sexism, disability awareness- LGBTQ+ in NON-faith schools) and in fact in all subjects there is a requirement on an OFSTED-advised lesson plan to include opportunities for introducing and addressing Equality topics such as avoidance of stereotypes, challenging negative attitudes, using multicultural themes. In fact in the 1980s in council-run creches and nurseries there was a large pool of multicultural resources.
