  1. The BBRR looked all set to become a permanent fixture on the ED calendar and I loved that it had the recklessness of something with medieval folk origins. Why did it stop? Were too many people sick or injured?
  2. Perhaps you could talk it through with someone like Citizen's Advice so you can clarify what's happened and work out your options?

  4. Do you mean your data in this forum or another platform, like your phone, email, bank? Or maybe you mean a professional person has broken confidentiality?
  5. Have to say I don't miss the days when the clique was at its height. Sometimes it seemed as though if a quorum of them shared an opinion that was different from yours, it meant you were 'proved' wrong and bullied into submission. That was why I deleted my first profile and took a break. I find the forum more inclusive these days, even if the lounge is quieter. These days when people take issue with each other it tends to be more about what's being said than about personalities and groups. Just my opinion, though - others may well remember it differently.
  6. That and a heap of blind spot sexism.
  7. Peckhamgatecrasher and PeckhamRose. I bought something from one of them soon after joining but can't remember which.

  9. Yes, but only half as much as Red Devil and (pro rata) Dulwich Fox.
  10. Mind you, if you want a genuine discussion on gender, don't pepper it with the word 'ladies'. Hard to take it seriously after that.

  12. Baptism by fire! But you survived and you've probably outlived most of the people involved. Good for you.
  13. Sorry Dulwich Fox - I always think of you as one of the long-serving forumites but looks like I was jumping the gun there.
  14. Oh no! It was one of the enduring threads. Understandable given the amount of spam recently though.
  15. Michael Paeleologus. I'm fighting off a summer cold at the moment and very bored (is it obvious?).
  16. Excellent! Just spotted a recent post from wee quinnie.
  17. I guess someone may have complained about the gender stereotypes thread, but the Chapel of Rest? Maybee they've been caught up in the spam purging by mistake?
  18. Realised it's just over ten years since I first joined the forum, originally under a different name. Many of the most frequent posters back then have moved away or moved on, and it made me wonder who's still here. Louisa, Dulwich Fox, ruffers, Sue, Loz. Who else?
  19. It's OK to have negative opinions but when someone has just died and people who knew and loved them are grieving, it would be kinder to hold off expressing them. De mortuis nihil nisi bonum, and all that.
  20. In 15 years I've never seen anyone cycling around it at 25mph! Most cyclists do stick to the limit - not hard to gauge as it's just faster than brisk walking pace. You get the odd lycra lout or teenager doing closer to 10mph in short bursts but for any serious cyclist it must be a discouraging route unless it's cold, raining or dusk.
  21. Do you have a connection with the business?
  22. Wearing my new mesh trainer socks. Make your feet feel cool, and they seem to stay on as well.
