  1. one who has just delivered > their handicapped relative/ neighbour somewhere > and has to get to work, That seems very unlikely from such a selfish @#$%&, and where is their blue badge? If you're in the process of picking up/dropping off a disabled person you display their blue badge ,but you can't use someone else's blue badge as a parking permit allowing you to park in restricted areas .
  2. Yup ,another unshaken house here . Unless it's the rain we've had making the ground different .
  3. I used to rather enjoy tessellating and ordering my recycling stuff so that it was nice and tidy and fitting neatly into the bin and bag . But now I lob it all into the bin - much greater volume .
  4. I have to agree with many of the comments about how badly these changes are working . Buses going north ( ? i think ) towards DK hill have to stop to allow traffic from other direction to pass . Driving towards Goose Green roundabout there seem to be a lack of direction signs and cars suddenly find themselves pulling out into middle of road and into the flow of traffic coming towards them . Perhaps this is the desired outcome ?
  5. Mainly I help her ,it's a bit tricky now though because she has a collection on Monday ,and sunday is the one day I don't visit . But her neighbours are really helpful . But I do wonder about others in the borough who's relatives aren't close and who lack rapport with neighbours .
  6. Just to add that IME ( as an Omeprazole user ) mirrored by 2 relatives - there is a tendenacy for prescribers to opt for ranitadine ( and to move Omeprazole users to ranitadine ) because it is a cheaper drug .
  7. sophiesofa - there is no system ( not sure how there could be ) biggest problem for my 91 year old mother is getting the refuse out ,never mind putting containers back.
  8. surely it's their job to move the bins and put them back where they found them without having a hissy fit. Guess that's why they do what they do.... mmm.... I imagine they "do what they do " because they need a job to pay the bills . Not out of some deep seated longing to collect refuse and return bins to starting position .
  9. What date exactly are they going ?
  10. blimey - what strange new magic is this ?
  11. And on a slightly different note - can anyone explain how you link your Oyster card to your 16-25 year old train card ?
  12. Salsaboy - I've been to Lexamark site and checked model and downloaded what they've offered. Test pages ,web pages and Word docs all present same result - cheerily starts off with "printing started " but will not progress beyond 15% ,sometimes 10% . Once when I turned lap top on in the morning ( can't remember if just "resuming " or if rebooting ) the printing staus box reappeared and it went to 99% . But the printer didn't do anything . Very unhappy ...
  13. leave old containers outside for collection as the new bins were delivered (teams delivering bins could transfer any recycling into new bin and take old box away) When I saw the blue bins being delivered they were being dropped off from a white van type vehicle . Looked like a completely seperate operation from recycling collection with no facility to collect recycling or old containers .
  14. I think ajdoc means " was there this much interest in the design of the Harris Academy on the Rye ? ". Have to say I'm with adjoc on this .
  15. aah I was hopeful there ,and followed Salsaboy's instructions ,but it just goes straight to 15% and sticks there . Why do printers/their software seem so unstable ?
  16. No not the first time ,it has worked before ,but has been tempremental for some time ,not communicating . Seems to be communicating now ,but presumably is afflicted by shyness and will only flirt ( as good a reason as any for only allowing itself to go 15% of the way ....? )
  17. Oh yes ,all that . And when I click "troubleshoot " it says it can't find the problem .
  18. The box that appears when printing starts has a heading " Printing status " and it shows 15% .
  19. and won't progress . It's a Lexmark printer and Dell laptop and ,supposedly ,is connecting wirelessly through a hub . I really don't know much about this stuff ,just wondered if anyone had any tips ? I've updated the software ,if that makes any difference .
  20. As an aside - and I'm still finding this unbelievable - community wardens ( red tabardy coats ) knocked on the doors of the terrace where my mother lives to tell her and her neighbours that they are not allowed to put their bags of household refuse on their windowsills for health and safety reasons Their reasoning was that the wind might blow them off the windowsill . They feel that the bags should be on the pavement . ( of course ,where dogs and foxes can rip them open and pedestrians fall over them .) I hardly like to add that what is really needed is for Southwark to come and collect the bags - on the day they said they would would be nice ,but failing that ,another day . But that seems a bit churlish ,it's early days for the new system and I'm sure the few hiccups will soon be sorted .
  21. Don't know the answer to your question wod ,but sympathies . I miss my bike so much - 18 months on - and find myself doing same as you ,always looking .:'(
  22. oooh John - where ?
  23. Blimey - presumably the photo was taken at tea or lunch . They don't look to be rolling in the aisles with inebriation do they ?
  24. James - hooray ! my mother's small terrace is now back to weekly refuse collections and have been supplied with clear bags for mixed recycling . Thank you for your intervention . ( feeling slightly nervous though in posting this in case it results in hundreds of requests from others for similar arrangements . But I promise that this handful of properties were unusual in their circumstances .)
