  1. ianr - one for the team ! Do report back on your findings !
  2. I think it wld be helpful if self adhesive stickers ,especially for the recycling bin were available ( maybe on demand for a few ? ) . I too get fed up with hoiking out non recyclable items like plastic bags from a shared bin . Also good to have clarification on plastic recyclable stuff .I look for the triangle logo and it's not there it goes in general waste .
  3. RH I was thinking that it would just be a way of excusing their lack of progress and interest .
  4. ime reports from the Met aren't always reliable ,I've not forgotten the Ian Tomlinson case.
  5. I'd be inclined to ignore the new instruction and carry on . Let the freeholder go to the expense of trying to legally enforce his request .As above it's likely that you have right of access and the right to put one bin . It's also likely that the one bin restriction applies to upstairs as well . Copies of your lease ( if not supplied by your conveyancer /slcr on purchase ) are available for a few pounds from https://www.gov.uk/guidance/land-registry-portal-how-to-request-official-copies. You can also get a copy of the lease for upstairs . From memory it's a bit clunky jumping through the hoops to get lease copies ( title deeds and plans are easy ) ,if you want any help fell free to PM me . This forum https://forums.landlordzone.co.uk/forum/long-leasehold-questions is helpful . Also this https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=2
  6. Bit early for a delivery today ,may still arrive .
  7. ah ,the well known dissapearance of a problem under the observation of a professional . I can only assume that it was emergency work for one of the untilties . Sounded a bit like industrial grinding of concrete . Am I the only person to have heard it ? I must admit ,initally I was expecting it to fade out ,as airoplane noise does .Maybe everyone just automatically screened it out.
  8. Is it just me or was there an unusual noise ( high pitched drone ??) this morning 6.30 -8 am ?
  9. oh my goodness ,how fascinating ! I am so jealous ! Have you gleaned all the info quoted from the found paperwork or have you already searched on a geanology site as Ilona suggests ?
  10. I'm noting all these suggestions and I'm v grateful for them so keep them coming ! All tips - currenct related and others are sadly new to me .
  11. Sue - massive sympathy ,it sounds dreadful . i'm guessing they ruled out Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo ?
  12. Thank you all ,so helpful! I quite fancy the 42 bus actually .
  13. Thank you RH ,that's really helpful .Just the kind of info I need .I am so not used to such activities as flying . Was googling buying lira earlier ,until I realised it would be Euros !
  14. Need to be at Stansted for a 10 am flight on a Tuesday morning .Guidance is to be at airport at 8am . LT planner suggests overground to Whitechapel or Thameslink to Farringdon and tube to Liverpool St and then train to Stansted . Does anyone know which offers least walking /easiest interchange ? It sounds a bit like hard work. Anyone any idea of taxi cost ? Should we use Uber ? Any advice gratefully received .
  15. Thank you ,makes a bit more sense to me now ! Any advice on how to target my tapping on my new Amazon Fire ? Or is it designed for young people with slender fingers ? Should I get one of those little stick/pencil type things I've seen ?
  16. Thank you .So I'm guessing it indicates a forwarded email . Would the prefixes occur if the email was composed on a phone and then forwarded to the senders own email on a laptop ? For ease of editing or something ?
  17. I'm engaged in an email exchange and sometimes receive emails with each line preceeded by > . I'm puzzeled by this .Can some kind person explain why it happens ?
  18. is it possible that the neighbour was expecting them and opened the door without them ringing the bell ? Possibly alerted by the sound of your doorbell ??
  19. ooh thanks for that link RH ,that's someone's Sat sorted .Mr Intexas delighted and can't understand how he'd missed it .
  20. Similar here New Wave, it makes me feel v jittery and I find it hard to settle and concentrate .
  21. Thank you for the info . Bad news . Seems petty that I mind the noise ,is petty . But the irritation is put into perspective by the news of stabbings .
  22. Couple of nights ago I was beginning to think that there was a helicopter trying to land in my garden . This afternoon there is much circling . Are they looking for a suspected criminal ? I wish it wouls stop .
  23. Thanks for the reply . Sorry ,I didn't mean to imply that I wanted someone to identify all ammended posts retrospectively ,particularly if there is a large number . I have started viewing titles differently now ,wondering if their usabilty has been tweaked ,those I listed stood out for me but agree no point in wasting your time verifying my thoughts ! But I do think it would be good to indicate those that are altered when it is done . TBH I was surprised that with a large nos of posts someone was actually attempting to read them all with a view to enhancing their userbility .
  24. I should add ,in the interests of pedantry ,that adding to the title runs the risk of imposing someone else's view of the point of the thread . Which may not reflect the OP's point . I thought Sue's thread about the guy on the pavement was asking whether anyone knew about him/could provide some explanation . Not really whether he said he was alright or not . And mine about the jogger was about how kind it was to offer help ,break his pace etc .The fact that it involved carrying my shopping wasn't the main point and the title ( IMV ) made it seem as though it was .
