I live on Barry Rd and I don't see people having trouble finding places to park .Of course it's a long road and there may be pressure on spaces at the north end near Peckham Rye . I am concerned however by the proposal to restrict parking by having yellow lines across all existing dropped curbs and extending each side . This will remove a number of spaces .

What is this consultation pack that people are referring to ? Is it a hard copy delivered through the letterbox ? How can I get a hard copy of the plans ? Does seem a very short consultation period .And only ONE drop in session for non business people ? I see that where there are existing dropped curbs giving access to forecourt parking new double yellow lines are proposed extending across the dropped curb and either side of the access . Presumably to aid vision .And decreasing parking . Does anyone know the measurement being used to determine the extent of restricted parking either side ?

Rye Lane gas works and buses

Eileen that is very helpful indeed and I shall do as suggested and email. I'm not bold enough to reproduce a copy here but if someone could I think that would be a good idea to encourage others . -
Rye Lane gas works and buses

TFL on twitter ( thank you for posting ElliottW ) say "The section of Copeland Road near the junction of Sandling Close we are unable to site a temporary stop because there is not enough space so if we had three buses serve the stop at the same time which is highly likely then there is a zebra crossing as well as that it is on a bend in the road. So if a bus stops at the temporary stop another vehicle will overtake it and there is highly risk that there would be a head on collision with another vehicle heading in the opposite direction. As well as that you may have a vehicle and pedestrian incident because the zebra crossing is so close. Also there is a tree which needed to be cut back to accommodate the buses." Concerns about the zebra crossing do seem valid ,possibly also the overtaking factor . Maybe the risk assessment has become more stringent since the last diversion . -

Bic Basher - some of the buses will stop on Copeland Rd near Bournemouth Rd if you ring the bell .But annoyingly it seems to be at the drivers discretion . If I knew who to approach to formalise this I would .Anyone know ? -
Cycle route when rye lane closed

Agree with your analysis Blah Blah though you seem a little sanguine . Personally I worry that there will be a serious accident ( might even involve a car and a pedestrian ) before the works move further along the road . At 10 weeks a section this is going to leave ample time . I'm no expert in road/traffic management but I hope someone who is has a look at the situation and takes appropriate action . -

Pedestrian traffic is not easy to negotiate through - this is a very valid point .With no through vehicles pedestrians will become more and more accustomed to using the road as an extension of the pavement . Although at the moment an absence of traffic is not guaranteed . A car flew up Rye Lane southbound and turned right into Choumert Rd . Even on long straight Barry Rd I have never seen a car driven at such speed . It did ( narrowly ) miss an oncoming bike. I think the car had crossed over the midpoint of the road prior to the right turn . -
Wow the fabulous Krystals are getting a Post Office ! How I love that chemist/shop . The pharmacy is efficient and helpful , and they have so much stock. So many chemists have to order in the most basic of things simple dressings, sterile water ,common drugs . And as for the shop ..what an Aladdins cave -my latest find has been fantastic ex hotel beautiful cotton sheets for ?4.99.Not on shelf last time I went in but still available . Perhaps we could have whoever is the chief pharmacist there for PM ?

Proposed East Dulwich CPZ
intexasatthe moment replied to treehugger's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Well maybe I have a peverse view but to me that situation is one where ED is well served by public transport but the sheer weight of traffic/congestion results in slow journey time for all road vehicles with 4 wheels . The area is well served by bus and train .There may be particular destinations where an underground service would hasten the journey but that doesn't equate to ED having abysmal public transport . -

My experience of Southwark Planning is that they frequently extend consultation periods if there is a problem . It's worth bringing the postal issues to the attention of those responsible for this survey . -
don't apologise solar ,I was being sarky and having a dig at Admin .Which I shouldn't really .Well most of them anyway .

Shouldn't this thread title be ammended to indicate which road the poster is talking about ? We're all busy ,busy ,busy and it might be annoying to click on a thread when it's not about a water issue in a road we're interested in .

I enjoy John Crace on Theresa May eg "After the panto, the hangover. The Commons was in a subdued mood for the last day of school before Christmas. Both the pupils and the supply teacher, Mr Bercow, understood that everyone might have had a few too many bevvies the day before and that things had been said or not said ? everyone had been so out of it no one could be 100% certain of anything ? so an uneasy truce had been called." and "We?ve reached the point where only four diagnoses are now left. The prime minister is in a delusional, psychotic state and is in urgent need of help. Or the prime minister is focused purely on her own short-term survival: even she can?t be so far gone as to believe she has a long-term future. Or the prime minister is a sleeper agent for a hostile government committed to the destruction of the UK. Or the prime minister is totally incompetent." https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/dec/20/theresa-may-wishes-2018-end-remembers-2019-worse-brexit
