  2. Is it the Worlingham Rd in East Dulwich ,or a different one ?
  3. Do ppl really think that ED is abysmally served by public transport ?
  4. Another vote for the fantastic Ellie at Norwood Rd Vets . Other local vets don't hold a candle to her .
  5. My experience of Southwark Planning is that they frequently extend consultation periods if there is a problem . It's worth bringing the postal issues to the attention of those responsible for this survey .
  6. don't apologise solar ,I was being sarky and having a dig at Admin .Which I shouldn't really .Well most of them anyway .
  7. Shouldn't this thread title be ammended to indicate which road the poster is talking about ? We're all busy ,busy ,busy and it might be annoying to click on a thread when it's not about a water issue in a road we're interested in .
  8. I do like this, staff being individuals and bringing humour to us all. Glad I squandered my time and risked clicking on a thread title not knowing what it was about .
  9. I enjoy John Crace on Theresa May eg "After the panto, the hangover. The Commons was in a subdued mood for the last day of school before Christmas. Both the pupils and the supply teacher, Mr Bercow, understood that everyone might have had a few too many bevvies the day before and that things had been said or not said ? everyone had been so out of it no one could be 100% certain of anything ? so an uneasy truce had been called." and "We?ve reached the point where only four diagnoses are now left. The prime minister is in a delusional, psychotic state and is in urgent need of help. Or the prime minister is focused purely on her own short-term survival: even she can?t be so far gone as to believe she has a long-term future. Or the prime minister is a sleeper agent for a hostile government committed to the destruction of the UK. Or the prime minister is totally incompetent." https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/dec/20/theresa-may-wishes-2018-end-remembers-2019-worse-brexit
  10. Thanks for update Sue . Like Blah blah I wonder why graphite used to be recommended ... maybe it was used when taking locks were also taken apart ,so not the danger of it clogging up the mechanism ? I trust Callow's though - I've always found them v helpful and like the way they try and mend/fix/things rather than just fitting a new lock .
  11. If it were me I would pop into Callow Locksmiths in Melbourne Grove and ask for their advice .I would take the key with me as they may be able to tell if it's worn . Or you could phone them 0208 299 4737 . And if you do could you share the advice on here ?
  12. My father always used graphite powder ,I use the graphite from a pencil .But I think the former is preferable .
  13. Clafoutis is easy and adaptable and not over sweet .You can add any fruit - I like cherries or apricots ,soaked in brandy or not . Make in ramekins or some kind of pie/lasagna dish . And i've seen this Milk Chocolate and Hazelnut Clafoutis: Melt 1 cup chopped milk chocolate in a large mixing bowl set above a simmering pot of water. Fold in the clafoutis batter until smooth and fully incorporated. Pour into a skillet or pie plate, sprinkle with 1/4 cup coarsely chopped hazelnuts, and bake. suggested ,doesn't appeal to me but ... https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/basic-clafoutis-51208430 INGREDIENTS 1 cup whole milk 3 eggs 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 tablespoons butter, melted 1/2 cup all-purpose flour PREPARATION 1. Preheat the oven to 325?F. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and butter until the sugar is dissolved. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Pour the batter into a cast iron skillet or pie pan. 2. Now add your favorite fruit or flavoring (see below). Bake until the clafoutis is beautifully puffed and golden, 35?40 minutes. Serve immediately.
  14. Wonder if impact will have caused anything more than cosmetic damage
  15. oh God we're not related are we RH ? ,one of my many brothers used to prize his compact edition and the bog standard version was my choice of accompaniment for the police station when being arrested .
  16. Thanks Alice . It's all too much for my small brain .
  17. I see that if you're changing at Canada Water to go to Canning Town you need to touch in at CW or get charged as though you've come from zone 1 . Someone tell me if I've missunderstood ,otherwise I'll assume I've intepreted correctly . Does seem a tiny bit likely to catch visitors out .
  18. Thanks ,that's what I thought ,just wasn't sure .
  19. I was comparing capped daily fares with weekly travel card options .
  20. Thank you ed . So ,sorry to be so dense ,but help an old lady travelling from Peckham Rye in zone 2 ? travelling from Honor Oak Park in zone 3 ? and whatever the answer is to my questions above do the zones remain the same if travelling from Canning Town back to Peckham Rye and Honor Oak ??
  21. Trying to establish for a visitor . ( Lord help the visitor trying to work out travel costs in London ) when I search it says 2/3 .
  22. I'm sure this is a noble exercise but ......Cuppa with a Copper ? Will the whole Dixon of Dock Green vibe be going on ,will there actually be bending of the knees and a reassuring "Evening all " .
  23. Guilty as charged -)
  24. For clarity I don't think my PM to Admin was me telling Admin ,but me expressing my opinion about someone else's thread "Well it's always going to be a matter of opinion but my point is that the thread was to my mind - and who knows as it was Sue who wrote it - about Thames Water ." Personally I think the thread should stay in the main section - it may be commenting on Thames Water's performance ( generically )but it is also commenting on that performance in East Dulwich specifically and how it affects residents there . But I'm not actually a fan of splitting hairs about threads qualifying for ED section or Lounge .
  25. I don't imagine this will stay here for long as not on topic ,but as we're discussing it ... is the title not part of the post ?
