On Barry Rd ,about 171 ,there's a forecourt that has just been laid with blocks .They are still working on it . I was admiring the workmanship and the guy was explaining how it's all in the preperation ,which he was describing . I'm sure he'd be happy to describe the ins and outs if you wanted to pass by on Monday .

When I asked Glazier Delmar in Northcross Rd if they offered an initial 30min free consultation re probate they gave me a resounding no and a quote of ?100's for a 30mins consultation . On the other hand Meaby and Co ( Camberwell ,central London ) could not have been more helpful and professional . http://www.meaby.co.uk/ And gave well over a 30 min free session . I'v also found the firm almost opposite the library top of Barry Rd http://www.hall-law.co.uk/ very helpful when I've popped in .

***it was a large red and black rucksack, a small camping style design. If a anyone has seen it anywhere PLEASE message me- I have university work in there that it invaluable to me right now as I'm in my third and final year.*** A lot of people have viewed and posted on this thread . As others have said how articulate and objective the OP is .Anyway ..I was thinking we should all scour our surroundings in case the bag and any contents have been disgarded . If it were the same person attacking the others mentioned maybe the locationof the third attack would give an idea of the route taken and possible area where bag may have been disposed of . "While I was being treated the paramedics/nurses then received another call to tell them that a THIRD person had been violently assaulted and was coming in to be treated" Hope you're doing ok Andrew .

I'm guessing that the project referred to in this thread was approved and allocated funds in the 2015- 2016 round but not carried out yet as it appears in the list of previuosly funded projects http://www.2.southwark.gov.uk/info/100002/business/3381/the_high_street_challenge/2 but not in the 2016/17 doc giving amounts allocated .http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/ieDecisionDetails.aspx?ID=5730 It's described ,as already quoted upthread "East Dulwich Traders Creating a locally owned brand for East Dulwich by installing 35 lamp post banners and a map of the local area. This activity hopes to promote the North Cross Rd market extension (results of market extension consultation due in February 2017)." Other extracts from docs already linked to by posters such as rch ,GooseGreen, ianr. http://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/ieDecisionDetails.aspx?ID=5730 see "Accompanying docs " "That the Dulwich Community Council allocates a total of ?140,555 of the Neighbourhoods Fund 2016/17 from the list of applications outlined in Appendix 1. This amount consists of two elements, namely ?90,000 available for 2016/17 and ?50,555 of unallocated funding carried forward from the previous year?s programme." " The neighbourhoods fund has a borough-wide funding budget of ?630,000 with an allocation of ?30,000 per ward." 4. "The purpose of introducing the neighbourhoods fund was to give community councils decision making powers over significant amounts of revenue funding, that they could allocate to meet locally determined priorities." "The community councils will use the criteria set out below for the allocation of this funding. a. Creating opportunities for people from different backgrounds to get on well together; (e.g. community cohesion). b. Establishing projects which treat each other with respect and consideration (e.g. being good neighbour, inter-generational contacts). c. Encouraging residents to be responsible for their own neighbourhood (e.g. community clean-ups; volunteering initiatives). d. Specific measures to enhance a neighbourhood?s environment (e.g. increased cleaning) 7. A community council may choose to allocate some of their neighbourhoods fund resources to their cleaner greener safer capital allocations. 8. Subject to the availability of resources, the neighbourhoods fund may be used to ?buy? services from the council. 9. As with any executive decision taken by community councils this decision is subject to the council?s existing scrutiny arrangements." "The allocation of the Dulwich neighbourhoods fund will, in the main, affect the people living in the Dulwich Community Council area. However, in making the area a better place to live and improving life chances for local people, Dulwich neighbourhoods fund activities will have an impact on the whole of Southwark." 19." Neighbourhoods fund projects may require consultation with stakeholders, including the project applicant, local residents and tenants and residents associations where applicable."

My understanding is that they don't need to have broken the law "the memos provide Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (Ice) agents with the ability to effectively target any US non-citizen who has either been convicted of any sort of crime, has simply been accused of a crime, has carried out minor fraud or is, in the assessment of an Ice officer, ?a risk to public safety" " "The department will now be allowed to target any undocumented immigrant who has been in the country up to two years for ?expedited removal? ? meaning a removal that does not need to be authorized by the court." -

and rahrah's right I think . If commuter vehicles looking for parking spaces are removed and there are fewer vehicle movements the road will become clearer of traffic . Initially .But the fact that it's less clogged up will make it more attractive to people driving through and using it as a route to get from A to B . So it won't stay that way . -

I know ( sort of ! ) it seems that the proposal is that any immigrant who has committed an illegal act ( like entering the country without authorisation ) or has been charged with a crime can be deported via the expedited route ( no hearing allowed I think ) . So that seems excessively scary . Tho I might be wrong .And I don't think it's been approved yet ? White House advisors still working on it ? Mutterings from ICE that if every case is a priority for deporting ,then none are a priority . -

Has there been any research into consumer satisfaction with existing RP schemes I wonder ? I've heard it's often not the holy grail envisioned by many but maybe this is untrue . What is true I fear is that such schemes result in other areas suffering ,that the total nos of parking spaces is reduced slightly ,that living near major transport/places of employment/schools/hospital does indeed cause pressure on car parkingetc . " less residents with cars than spaces" - that is unusual .I wonder if the proximity of 2 railway stations and numerous bus routes has encouraged residents to avoid car ownership " -

Right .Um ,I'm sure this is simplistic but I can't help thinking this "Commuter" car tries to park outside a resident's house a) resident of Lyndhurst Grove parked there already b) resident's car absent and space available for "commuter" . No harm done ? Resident returns from work/errand - "commuter " car taking up parking space . Answer = CPZ ,resident pays money and "commuter" prevented from parking ,space remains empty . Bit of a waste . Or doesn't remain empty because Residents Parking Permits exceeds number of residents'cars . Mmm - why have a CPZ with Resident Parking ? -

That stretch is definitely a problem .Wouldn't double yellow lines on one side be as effective as a CPZ ? -
If the odd > lamppost needs replacing we'll find some other > funding to do that aspect to help Is that how it works ? Never mind what a few people think ,you and I think it's a good idea so we'll just find some funding to carry out our plans ? I think if my forecourt and the front of my house were smartened up it would enhance the community and act as a spur for others to do the same .Could you find some funding for this please ?

And if James and the OP can stop slapping each other on the back for a minute they might hear that banners are not wanted . Cleaner Greener Safer ,High Street Challenge - sorry but honestly what a lot of b*ll*cks . Not appropriate in these times . Alice has hit the nail on the head - if these funds are ring fenced /capital and not revenue/can't be moved into Social Care someone needs to look at how they can be UN ring fenced .How they can be moved . It's not good enough to just to accept the staus quo .

Traffic on Lyndhurst Grove
intexasatthe moment replied to Bopster's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
As for the traffic - IMO it's busy because it's a road used to get from A to B ( aka a "rat run " ) in a busy metropolitan city . Cars jostling to park may increase this factor at key times but won't decrease the traffic driving from A to B .Of which there are many .All day . -

rahrah - I did enjoy that ,thanks . Posting lyrics for those like me who can't hear "59 Lyndhurst Grove" There's a picture by his first wife on the wall Stripped floor-boards in the kitchen and the hall A stain from last week's party on the stairs No one knows who made it or how it ever got there They were dancing with children round their legs Talking business, books and records, art and sex All things being considered you'd call it a success You wore your black dress oh-oh oh-oh... He's an architect and such a lovely guy and he'll stay with you until the day you die And he'll give you everything you could desire Oh well almost everything everything that he can buy So you sometimes go out in the afternoon Spend an hour with your lover in his bedroom hear old women rolling trolleys down the road Back to Lyndhurst Grove Lyndhurst Grove Oh. -

This p*sses me off .It's badly designed and was poorly consulted on when introduced .I hate to think how much the "consultation" cost . Concerns were raised at the time and ignored http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,363258,363820#msg-363820 -
