TBH I don't care too much about late deliveries of cards and parcels - happy to have them brighten up the post Xmas period . Sad for younger ones not getting stuff on the 24/25th though .And sad for us both if the volume of backlogged stuff results in things getting lost .

"Your parcel from Covid 19 Home Testing Programme is due to be delivered: Today, Sunday, 19 December 2021* by 7:30pm" and then "Sorry, we were unable to deliver your parcel from Covid 19 Home Testing Programme today, Sunday, 19 December 2021. We will attempt to deliver it on the next working day. We're sorry for the inconvenience." I so don't envy the poor buggers trying to deliver stuff .

Possibly HealthMatters ? I think virtually every other shop in LL sells incense and cones .Farmers might have some that are reasonably priced .

Does any local charity, etc. collect pens

Nigello if you get details could you pass them on to me please ? I've inherited a box of those little pencils with a metal washer type thing at one end- for the spine of diaries and I don't rea;;y want to throw them away / -
In a car the other day ,stopped at crossroads Gallery Rd and South Circular and noticed the plethora of signs ahead . The red rectangle outlining the hours when access through DV are prohibited is obscured by the new ULEZ sign . If you stand next to the little group of signs it doesn't seem as though one obscures the other but viewed from a car at the other side of the lights the prohibitive sign is not readable . Another sign on the south side of the junction would sort this .

"Can the CGS (or whatever it?s called now) fund be used to buy one?" excellent idea ! -
LTN: Our Healthy Streets - Dulwich: Phase 3

Sadly not a precedent ,all too common . Any organisation can argue that they listened ,were influenced and set priorities as a result of consultation . They can also say, as said to me ,and trotted out on here before "A consultation isn't a rolling ballot ,you can't just vote for what you want ." Flu vaccines locally
intexasatthe moment replied to EastdulwichNewbie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Be careful booking ,make sure you don't just book through patient access or online but confirm directly with the pharmacy .In my case there was no communication with the pharmacy and despite confirmation and reminders Day Lewis had no notification and no one available for my "appointment" . -
Sounds like a very costly suggestion grajm .And wouldn't the restricted access caused by the sharp bend and railway bridge at the Copeland/Consort Rd be a negative if bus stops were to be introduced? I think Rye Lane is plenty wide enough for road traffic if restricted to buses ,cyclists ,delivery vehicles .

"Surely if one is upheld on the basis of incorrect or vague signage and then the council takes remedial action then a precedent has been set and all of the fines should be refunded for that junction?" excellent point ,though no doubt there will be an argument that they are just improving something that was adequate .sigh .

SE22 flu jab notifications
intexasatthe moment replied to Nigello's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not sure about that Nigello . Finding it impossible to book an appt on line with FHR surgery I followed a link on their website and booked a slot on friday via patient access with Day Lewis .Despite ack.and two emails reminding me of appt .,Day Lewis had no notification and indeed no one qualified to do the vaccination on Friday .Nor did they know when they would have someone . Suggest anyone wanting to use Day Lewis phone them directly on 02082992707. -

Thank you hpsaucey . I just feel so much for the poor woman who had been so viciously attacked and who then experienced not only a null response from the police ( who said they could do nothing with the statements from the witnesses ,the photograph of the attack or the information regarding his first name ) but then patronised her with the "Gone are the days when we can put up wanted notices comment . She doesn't like revisiting the area but did so because she'd been told there was this event .And then it was cancelled with no notification to her . At least the lack of general publicity may have saved others who having personal or related experience of assault might have turned up and been disappointed .

Thanks for replying rch ,no worries about trying to stay in better touch .I don't think it's down to you to inform the public about a violence against women event ! And it sounds as though you have your hands full . I just ...think it's cr*p .Almost as though there was no motivation . Let's not publicise it ,might add a few people to an email list and let them know about it .But who cares if we cancel it ,no need to advise people .
-
"cancelled at the last minute due to the Wayne Couzens trial concerns" Yes of course ,might have meant staff attending would have been faced with tricky questions . out of interest Where was it publicised rch? I only knew about it because I bumped into a woman who was very badly assaulted on Peckham RYe in 2019 .Despite having a photograph ( taken by someone who witnessed the attack ) ,the first name of the attacker and two witnesses ,the police were spectacularly unhelpful, telling the victim "Gone are the days when we could post Wanted notices " .. The attacked woman was looking for the event as she'd been notified it was on .Imagine how she felt circling the park looking for it and now knowing that it wasn't worth the police's time to let her know it had been cancelled?
