  1. Thank you Bicknell ,what an interesting read ) Dulwich Village junction: ?The option of a permeable closure at this junction was clearly very popular? This statement is true only if you look at those in favour. If you include all respondents, the statement is manifestly incorrect. This is visually represented in the graph below, by comparing those who wanted to close the junction (173) with those who preferred other measures (210). (2) Calton Avenue: ?A permeable closure was clearly also a popular option here? Again, this statement is not borne out by the data. In the graph below, we compare those who wanted to close Calton Avenue (164) with those who preferred other measures (193):
  2. They may have /still are staggering playtimes to avoid having all the children mixing together .
  3. There are quite a few in Townley Road though you need to watch out for the restricted/timed access to that road .
  4. It seems pointless to highlight the division of roads in ED into A roads and residential roads . I'm intrigued by the thought that Croxted, EDG, Norwood, LL are "primary through routes designed to move traffic from one point to another vs surrounding residential roads.". I wonder who designed them and when . And what criteria was used to distinguish them from "residential" roads . Did it factor in the number of residents on A roads vs "residential "roads ? Wikipedia gives a definition "The next category is the A roads, which form the primary route network. A primary route is defined as:[16] ...a route, not being a route comprising any part of a motorway, in respect of which the Secretary of State ? (a) in the case of a trunk road is of the opinion, and (b) in any other case after consultation with the traffic authority for the road comprised in the route is of the opinion, that it provides the most satisfactory route for through traffic between places of traffic importance but it seems rather vague and open to subjectivity . I think most ,if not all ,of Court Lane could easily be designated an A road under those terms .
  5. I'm not firing on all cylinders today so may have missed something glaringly obvious but - what's the significance of the colour coding of the pins on the commomplace map ? eg this comment "My access is now limited,I cannot walk from one end of Rye lane to the other with luggage or shopping. I cannot visit small shops or businesses without help from others.I now feel excluded from retail experiences, and casual socialising that shopping in an area brings.I feel excluded because I am not as mobile, or ride a bicycle." is attached to an orange pin this "The buses ought to be brought back to the Lane. The drivers are on the whole more likely to be cycle-friendly due to training and the presence of a public asset is needed to democratise the street. Rye Lane is part treasure, part midden. Pedestrians and cycles are to be encouraged but not at the expense of those who choose a different way of getting around. I don?t like the feeling of Rye Lane especially near the south end: it?s often empty and just feels lacking life there. The litter and ubiquitous graffiti doesn?t help, but councillors and officers just don?t get involved in the same way they do a mile or so south (cf. LTNs at Melbourne Grove, etc.). 🤨" is a sort yellowy green this "i fully support the road is open as it make it easy for our customer to access as many customer complain about walking down from a far may them change their mind and it have great impact on our sales" is green If you look at the map there seems to be a majority of green pins ,which to me gives the impression that there is a majority of comments supporting the measures . It's only if you scroll through "all comments " that you get a more balanced view .Which seems to be improve access to station and shops for those burdened with bags/children/ageing /disabled bodies .
  6. new https://www.southwark.gov.uk/news/2021/jul/rye-lane-to-reopen-to-buses here https://peckhamstreetspace.commonplace.is/
  7. Keira - thanks for that .I've just commented .It's a bit of a faff ,I thought that as I've already commented on other commonspace maps that I could go ahead ,stick my pin ,write my comments and that was it . But no - you have to complete more questions and verify by responding to an incoming email . I found it convoluted and off putting .
  8. Yes ,Dulwich not open for browsing but collections and returns are possible .
  9. The thing is ,it wasn't just unsatisfactory ..it felt almost disingenuous,as if some factor was being deliberately withheld or hidden. I now have conspiracy theories in my head - some sort of legal action being taken by staff who worked there . But I'm no doubt being paranoid and influenced too much by the current climate of weirdly implemented LTNs ,ruination of lives by Post Office management ....
  10. I had a conversation with a member of staff at Dulwich Library the other day . She was unable to tell me when the library would be back to normal and fully open . Apparently they are all working as hard as they can to bring this about but are stymied by risk assessments and lack of manpower . It felt like a very strange explanation and the replies ( back to risk assessments and manpower )I received when asking why risk assessments couldn't have been completed in advance of April 12 were unintelligible to me . I didn't see any staff I recognised.
  11. Well put Nigello .Doesn't need to be complicated or time consuming .
  12. I don't think it was luck that boomshakes fine was cancelled .I think it was a result of the very cogent and detailed letter that was sent by him/her .
  13. Excellent idea to contact school . My knee jerk reaction is to hope they could organise some kind of road awareness sessions .Then I thought poor teachers ,responsible for educating and keeping safe across every conceivable spectrum .And currently trying to ameliorate the extended absences of their pupils .And having had to provide on site support throughout the school closures for children with specific needs and key worker parents while also organising on line education . Given the green uniform I wondered if it might be a St Anthonys pupil . The school has a wide catchment area .
  14. I know ,oh well .Thanks for comments though.
  15. Thank you both . alex_b yes Hardwire makes sense to me . Our netflix is via a small Roku device which does not only has 2 connection points .I'm thinking we would have to run the cable from the hub to the Roku device ? Am I correct ?
  16. Bidvid - what a kind thing to do .Hope there's such a thing as karma and good things happen for you .
  17. We've only recently started with Netflix and are having trouble with constant buffering and poor quality picture . Our hub is some distance from the TV and I'm wondering if a wifi booster might help .Anyone got any views on this ? Does anyone have any experience of using a booster ? Any recommended brand ?

  19. oh wow ,I'm so glad! the other side of Barry Rd ..that's some distance from Friern .
  20. Does it really matter if there are comments from people who are not resident ? Surely if they use the affected routes to get from A to B they have a valid interest .
  21. . "Apparently you can put food waste loose into your garden bin, but shouldn?t use compostable bags." Interesting ,I would much prefer this to using the fiddly and now cracked food caddy .
