Telescopic poles (what sorcery is this?) aside ,surely people have as much of a right to remove posters as people have to put them up ? Or is there a god given right for posters to remain once afixed ?

We live in a house divided into 2 ,subsidence work carried out in past . Each flat has a 50% share of the freehold so we are freeholders and leaseholders . When we bought the property over 20 years ago our mortgage company were keen that there should be continuity of insurance cover so we accepted the current policy .This has always been charged via a brokers . The cost is incredibly high -over ?800 for our flat alone . My attempts to find cheaper quotes have never been sucessful because of the subsidence. I can't see the point of our brokers .In answer to my request to see copies of alternative quotes they replied "All of our renewals once they are received, if higher than the standard increase due to index linking and insurer rates will be taken to market. If a policy also has not been taken to market in the last 3 years, it is also standard protocol to do so to ensure premium remains competitive" I've no idea what what an insurer rate is nor whether the policy was overpriced back a million years ago . What should I do ? I certainly dont see the point of the brokers or feel that they are getting us a good deal ?

I think some of the staff at FHGP lack training .I've had a couple of phone "interviews" originating from FHGP supposedly monitoring stuff which were unbelievable ,like someone not v bright following a script from which they could not deviate . Not the pharmacist who is polite and professional, though I feel being asked to monitor some health aspects which need to be dealt with by a GP .

I was told repeatedly by a staff member at Dulwich library that the delay was due to Health and Safety reviews . That reviews had to be undertaken at all Southwark Libraries ,that Southwark's capacity to carry out reviews was limited and that it had not been an option to carry one out for Dulwich in anticipation of a reopening . I did feel a degree of hostility for questioning why the H&S review was such a stumbling block . And an attitude that as there were a number of other Southwark libraries open ,that I was being demanding in wanting Dulwich to be fully operational as well . There will no doubt be an Alice in Wonderland theme for the reopening .If it ever happens .

I think if you hire a black cab the length of time that the journey takes is a factor in the price .So the cusyomer pays if cab queing/stuck in traffic . Could be wrong .

Is a live in carer the answer ? If care is needed at various points throughout a 24 hour period ( help at night with toileting ,turning )as opposed to targeted care provided at specific times ( help in and out of bed ,washing ,eating )your aunt will need more than one live in carer . Cover will need to be provided for time off ,holidays ,sickness etc . Unless you hit on a good match it can be very wearing having carers coming in or residing with you . Have you explored all other support systems ? Pendant alarm ,local authority or private carers ? Does she have an attendance allowance? Meal delivery ? I wish you luck ,it's a bit of a minefield .

I used to go to a number of shops in Rye Lane ,Asda ,Khans ,One Below ,Mighty Pound ,Iceland , Morrisons ,Pound Stretcher ,Lidls . I enjoyed browsing and looking for the best deals .Lots of walking and I stretched myself .But I could manage because I could access a bus if I needed to. I would only use the bus stop in Peckham High St by the Nat West in extremis because of the narrowness of the pavement ,crowding ,pollution and would stagger round to Rye Lane if I possibly could . I don't browse anymore .I don't catch the train from Peckham Rye or pop into Iceland to pick up dinner when returning from an outing . Now I drive to Morrisons/Lidls and struggle with Denmark Hill station .I dont want to drive ,I want to be able to hop on and off buses . I'm sure it's hard to imagine if you're young and fit, but when you're older you have less stamina and strength . You have to ration your physical activities .200m ,400m might seem nothing to many but to many others it's the last straw in being able to cope .Particularly if you have a lot of shopping . No doubt people with young children and those that have a disability feel the same .

Huge sympathy .So sorry . It's done now ,we learn from our mistakes ,try and consign it to the past .

Yes ,this aspect gets me re Townley Road restrictions applying regardless of school holidays . Of course they couldn't inscribe dates on road signs -and update yearly - but I guess camera operation would allow this to be factored in .
