  1. Thanks Ilona ,I wasn't aware of this .As said in linked article you might only find out when reordering a large package i.e. in a few weeks time and after your cat has been exposed for sometime .
  2. A friend has just received same on a phone she only uses to contact her 2 sons .She's puzzled as to how her LA got her number .
  3. It was a lot of rain in a short period but I swear I've seen that amount in the past .Without the resultant flooding . But maybe I'm wrong!
  4. I know we had heavy rain yesterday but I'm surprised by the flooding .Perhaps the rain was significantly heavier in Eg Camberwell and Battersea than we had in ED ? I'm wondering if drains were blocked ,possibly the recent dry spell meant a build up of debris that regular rain would flush down ,and if this was a factor . I feel sure ( often wrong when I feel like that ! ) we've had similar downpours in the past which haven't resulted in this degree of flooding . What do others think ? Oh ,and I understand about the heat meeting the cooler air and climate change .
  5. "Most people who live and work in an area know more then highway engineers who possibly commute in from outside the borough." Attending a consultation /? pre consultation meeting at Dulwich library a couple of years ago I was shocked at the presentation of A4 sheets depicting maps of the area with no attempt to combine them to give an overview of the whole area under discussion . But even more shocked that the individuals running the session had no knowledge of the local area so it was impossible to have a discussion involving street names ,it was back to rifling through a sheaf of A4 papers . I'm getting so old and pedantic !
  6. Johnson standing by him .Is this because if he went there's a danger that Johnson would have to lift a finger and do some work? Or does Johnson not want to look like a hypocrite and has negotiated that Hancock resigns of his own volition ?
  7. Mmm,and Handcock made a big point of expressing horror and being speechless when Fergusson was caught calling on his girlfriend during the lockdown .
  8. I think I'd be sending that update to his GP surgery .
  9. That sounds so frustrating Pugwash .I'm so sorry . I think you should speak to the practice manager ( if that's what they are called and there is one ) and if nothing is resolved make a complaint ,the GP in question sounds very unhelpful and inflexible . Individual GPs vary so much in in how they interact with patients .Would it be possible to avoid this particular one in future ,is there an alternative one at the practice ? Failing that I would urge your relative to change surgeries .
  10. As a director on the board what will he be involved in,what will his role be ?
  11. Ah ha ,got it! That's really kind of you to give so much detail .It sounds a good route .
  12. malumbu - I'm not very good at all things directionwise/map reading ,as in really bad ,so apologies if this is a stupid query ...Looking at a map I can't understand where the M40 comes in .Do you mean the A4 ?
  13. That's very interesting Ashlar ! And kind of you to go to the trouble of posting and explaining .Many thanks .
  14. Thanks ,he's booked in now at Tessa Jowell . I did look at all the places and there were criteria ,age, residential etc that he did not meet . Chemists do seem to be a good option though .
  15. Klockton ,I'm so sorry to hear of your experience . We used Albins ,near the Walworth Rd and they were very helpful .lovely ,kind and understanding .And no more more expensive than any others ,slightly cheaper I think .
  16. Ok ,answering my own post here - the pop ups currently offer AZ and it's not policy to offer this to younger people ,hence the 40+ criteria . Word is that bookable appts for Pfizer or Moderna ( by phone via 119 ) are available at some chemists .
  17. Guess that's a no .My 25+ son working in an autistic unit has been trying to book online but no slots are available . Unbelievable .I wonder what will happen if there's a rush of care home workers trying to get vaccinated .
  18. The Southwark ones seem to be for 40+ but I wonder if they've not updated the website and a younger person turning up would be accomodated ? Worth risking it and turning up ? https://selondonccg.nhs.uk/what-we-do/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine/pop-up-clinics/
  19. 12 wow ! I wonder if that's a usual number or higher than normal . May I ask where you got that info from J&B ?
  20. Thanks ,it's helicopters circling so I guess they are searching .Just seems a greater number recently .
  21. What with the windows open and being in the garden ,I seem to be hearing them all the time .What's going on ?
  22. Useful info, thank you mac4.If I had sash windows (how I wish I did ) or a redundant fireplace as you describe I would go for that . Sadly I'm thinking of what I believe are known as evaporative air conditioners ,but I guess they function only as air being blown across an ice pack ( which I notice are often freely available in Morrison's car park courtesy of Amazon deliveries )
