flu jab - Tessa Jowell practice - safe?
ianr replied to trinidad's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
> you must register your car reg > number at the desk or you'll get fine That'll be a deemed contractual penalty payment rather than a fine. But don't dream of paying, simply for being unaware of their system requirement. Just as with supermarket parking, I'd guess that confirmation from the surgery that you'd been attending would be sufficient to get any existing penalty claim cancelled (assuming you removed the car once you'd had the jab ;) ). I might have a look around myself sometime, to see what any notices in the car park do say. -

I'm trying to educate myself: can anyone help? Apart from a string of motifs for t-shirts and kids' phone cases, ... "Timber Tots promotes children's imagination and interaction Collect the Squirrel family: The Nut-Nuts! Include the 4 characters from the Nut-Nut family" looks like a possible source. Is that likely? And while I'm here, on my way there I found myself traversing the Mail Online and some lime-green nipple tape. I hadn't realised it came in different colours. Do they signify, or is it simply a personal choice-of-the-day sort of thing?

Quite by chance I came across this Southwark Leafing schedules spreadsheet for 2020: https://www.southwark.gov.uk/assets/attach/11086/leafing-schedules-2020.xlsx (45kB). It's got six tables, for weeks designated 1 to 6 starting from 26 October, each containing a list of roads. Some roads are listed in more than one table, with maybe an interval between.

You've not told us whether you've checked whether the alleged untaxed car is atill there; or, if it is, whether it is definitely untaxed, as checkable here: https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax

Commiserations. Checking the usual web outlets and bike sale monitoring sites is I think probably your best bet. Knowing some of the painful details of the theft -- like location within premises of bike and mode of access; was bike locked, or attached to anything, and if so, with what devices; time of day -- might be useful to some of us.

Not my keys, but EDBoost's, whose post was made to the main section, but then moved to the Business section. I reported this mismove. An appended post seems to have been removed, but the thread remains there. So I'm copying EDBoost's post here: "Hi, I?ve Lost a set of important keys on Saturday (7th Nov) at Peckham Rye Park (I believe). I think I dropped it in the open grassy part between East Dulwich Road and Peckham Rye. It?s easily recognisable as it has a key ring with a picture of an oriental baby (my son) with a green and a yellow key cover. I know it?s a long shot but as I said they are really important and just hope someone has seen them and handed them in somewhere as I couldn?t find them when I went back. Many Thanks" Please send any PMs to EdBoost via their post at /forum/read.php?30,2162097.

The regulations granting a conditional 6 month MOT test certificate exemption seems to be still in force for tests needed up till 29 March 2021. This is the most recent version: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/382/2020-07-31. The Explanatory Note at the end is helpful. Before seeing that I'd have said that the regulation allowing the fulfillment of a legal obligation would have been the thing to rely on for permitting the journey. But since it's quite _possibly_ not deemed an obligation now, I'm not sure it helps, at least in theory. I'd check with the test centre as to what _seems_ to be permitted, if you're set on trying to get one now; or alternatively to check with them that cancellation of the current date is ok. Perhaps one of the motoring organisations has some online advice. IANAL and do not claim to give sound or reliable opinion or advice. [smiley]

Where is this newsletter? I don't want to chip in without knowing exactly what it says, and I can't find anything that looks like it or mentions it in any of the Covid-19 council emails I've received, or in the Keep Southwark Safe Campaign webpage https://www.southwark.gov.uk/health-and-wellbeing/public-health/for-the-public/coronavirus/keeping-our-borough-free-from-covid-19/keep-southwark-safe-campaign, apart from the references to the government's own guideline webpages.

> bicycle registration marking What does this involve? ETA Just seen the thread in What's On. So which kind of marking is applied? I think I'm content with my frame number, which iirc is already on an online register. -

See /forum/read.php?5,2072651#msg-2114138 Concordia Health Ltd renamed themselves Omnes Healthcare General Practice Ltd in May 2019. There are/have been other companies within the Concordia/Omnes groups, but I think that's the one which actually has the contact.

"Cooking oil collection services, such as Olleco, help businesses to recycle their waste cooking oil to produce biofuels, which can be used to replace fossil fuels used for transport." says https://resource.co/article/oil-s-well-ends-well-how-dispose-cooking-oil. Do any local establishments use this kind of service? Apparently yes, says https://www.food.gov.uk/business-guidance/food-and-cooking-oil-waste: "If you produce waste cooking oil as part of your catering business, then you must ensure that it is stored properly. No oil is allowed to spill and it has to be collected by an authorised collector." I'm happy to carry them to LL for you if any arrangement can be made.
