  1. beansprout, I've pm'd you.
  2. Did you know the bike's frame number? A match on that would have scuppered any doubts.
  3. Yes. This is from today's police briefing note:At six o'clock on Thursday, October 8th, 2020, we were called to a moped rider firing a handgun in Gowlett Road, SE15. Local and specialist firearms officers responded. There are no reported injuries, but the attending officers found evidence of a firearm discharge. A crime scene is in place while detectives begin their investigation. ?
  4. I was sorry to see Robert Poste's Child go too.

Mine is https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/weekly-national-flu-reports-2019-to-2020-season. The flu season is only just starting, so the current reports are still fortnightly summaries only and don't even mention secondary care admission data. The latest reported GP consultation rate for influenza-like illness (ILI) is about 2 per 100,000 population in England.
  9. A google search on the target words - bus ventilation spread of infection - provides a number of reports that may provide useful evidence. Do any of the TfL buses provide ventilation by air recirculation?
  10. Heaven be praised. Who is this person? What did he say to you?

  12. > There is one of those Pizzico pinch of salt > things on eBay for a mere ?22.39 ...... I can supply pinches of salt, to customer's specification, pre-packed in plastic bags. Minimum order one gross. Contact me for a quotation.
  13. What I'd first check, not necessarily in this order, are (1) Current Ebay used price => ~?110 (2) Current Ebay, used, for spares, price => ~?35 (3) Any web interchanges matching your perceived problem (3) Web availability of videos and/or manuals on servicing. The first hit (3) has yielded, https://www.justanswer.co.uk/electronics/8fyv9-lcd-monitor-panasonic-lumix-dmc-tz40-not-working.html, is worth a look. I'm currently stuck with two Canon Powershot A500/600 series cameras with a defective switch in the SD slot. It's just a matter of a springy metal arm within the side of the slot having become slightly deformed, so that the switch isn't closed when the card goes in. I think I'm going to be have to try to correct it by a little fine prodding or poking, a bit like doing dentistry. I've checked some detailed drawings, but ideally would still like to check its conformation by sight so that I don't mess it about any more. Does anyone by chance have a spare full SD card slot that I could have a look at, probably buy and dissect?

Here's a working Gumtree link. There seem to be quite a few. It includes a link to their website as well. https://www.gumtree.com/p/commercial-property-to-rent/flexible-hotdesks-fixed-spaces-modern-office-social-distanced-norwood-se21-/1385166037

  16. OP knows the vehicle has no tax or MOT so presumably already knows about the different reporting routes and conditions set out at https://www.gov.uk/report-untaxed-vehicle. If it's only being moved every few months, proof of its being used on the road without an MOT is likely to be problematic. Edited to retract the last sentence above, having found:Pumbien v Vines (1995) The Times June 14 Queen's Bench Divisional Court A motor car parked on a road was being used on the road for the purposes of sections 47 and 143 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 even if it was totally immobilised and could only be moved by being dragged away, and, therefore, required both a valid MOT certificate and an insurance policy.

  20. Ah, I hadn't realised that. In fact I'd assumed that if other councils had the information to hand it would be rather unlikely that Southwark would not have or feel a need to. Perhaps they're just being economically minded, and leaving the public collation bit for anyone who wants to do it.
  21. > I've just received this morning (21 September) > 20 bulbs of Gladiolus Byzantinus which were > posted on 17 August, But aren't Byzantine things always meant to take protracted, complicated and tortuous paths? Sorry. ;( Re the Private Eye benchmark test: My issue due Wed.9 Sept, delivered Sat.19 Sept. ETA Good news: a letter, with four 1st class stamps (one would have done), postmarked Kidbrooke PO SE3 21/9, arrived today. Bad news: clearly and fully addressed to someone in a very differently named road in SE20 ETA2 The current Private Eye arrived today Thurs 24/9, only one day later than usual/best case.
  22. Given that the experiment has been implemented, is there any virtue in allowing some time to see how it works out before reaching any definite conclusions or making any demands?
