  1. Either of these links for the report will work better (they include a needed http:// prefix): webarchive.lewishampct.nhs.uk/a/1219 webarchive.lewishampct.nhs.uk/documents/1219.pdf
  2. Macmillan have collections done by Clothes Aid according to http://www.charitybags.org.uk/clothing_collectors_list.shtml, who also have an entry describing Clothes Aid as reputable and trustworthy. That the collection tallied with the leaving of bags suggests that it probably was a genuine one, though there are also rogue collectors and gatherers of loose objects around: http://www.charitybags.org.uk/thefts_of_clothing_collection_bags.shtml Genuine collectors will presumably be willing to give honest answers to questions about who they are.
  3. A four month holiday? Which planet?
  4. But was that really random kindness? Talking of things left out, this afternoon there was a largish animal hutch thing on the pavement on the east side of Woodwarde Road, about 200m from the junction with Eynella but before the junction with Beauval. Presumably left there for the taking. It's on four legs, is about the size of a small primary school desk, and the animal accomodation has two compartments.
  5. I think you're right about line 3: very likely an interloper that wants to lure you into its lair. If it won't let you shut down that window/tab, or the whole browser, you could try doing so via Task Manager. If your browser is configured so as to reload whatever windows you had up on last use, and you can't amend that configuration, try killing each individual tab as soon as it appears. That's worked for me previously. Doing any restart when not connected to the net might make things easier.
  6. > By the way people, just thought I'd let you know that giving immigration advice, even for free, without being registered > with the OISC, SRA, Cilex or the Bar Council is a criminal offence. Only if done in the course of a business.
  7. > i didnt know i need to have the permanent residence confirmed in writting .i ll have a look at the website u gave to me .thank u !!! As the page says, you don't need to apply for permanent residence, or to get written confirmation of it. You have it by right after five years here as an exerciser of treaty rights. But as you were worried about your future status here, producing the evidence now and getting your status confirmed in writing might be one way of providing reassurance for yourself. After that you could stay here indefinitely even without your Italian, or British, citizenship, and re-enter as a returning resident as stipulated in the immigration rules: "18. A person seeking leave to enter the United Kingdom as a returning resident may be admitted for settlement provided the Immigration Officer is satisfied that the person concerned: (i) had indefinite leave to enter or remain in the United Kingdom when he last left; and (ii) has not been away from the United Kingdom for more than 2 years; and (iii) did not receive assistance from public funds towards the cost of leaving the United Kingdom; and (iv) now seeks admission for the purpose of settlement."
  8. sabrina79, get your permanent residence confirmed in writing (see http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/eucitizens/documents-eea-nationals/) and you can rely on being able to remain here indefinitely so long as you don't do anything, such as getting convicted of serious crime, that might merit deportation. It would be almost unheard-of for any future law to act retrospectively to remove indefinite leave status once affirmed.
  9. There was some discussion of window locks in this thread: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,537002. Apparently even a couple of these locks in the top side of the window frame weren't adequate against a crowbar if the wood wasn't strong enough. Jeremy suggested a type that goes at the side, that may be better. The URL he linked to is now gone, but here's a picture from the same site, which I think is of that type. What do crime prevention officers say?
  10. Taking the title of the photograph literally I worked out, to the nearest pixel, where the virtual centre of East Dulwich is -- in East Dulwich Grove near the junction with Lordship Lane, probably in someone's back room.
  11. > and you can see the train line and either someone has a blue roof or a swimming pool can't work out which! On the Google maps satellite photo there's a pair of games pitch areas together, grey and terra cotta coloured, just south of N Dulwich station, if that's what you're looking at. I'd guess that the grey one has been recoated in a trendy blue.
  12. If you're booting the "dead" laptop from an optical drive, you might as well do so with a system rescue or recovery CD, and check at the same time whether the problem is nothing more than a need to rewrite the boot sector or repair the OS.
  13. So, did the noble Lord of the Manors (apparently resident on the continent) eventually get several squillions?
  14. Coming soon to a LOCAL TV screen near you: BBC2,11.50
  15. > They say they're from Kingsdale and I have reason to believe they are. Anyone posting from and on behalf of an organisation will presumably use its official email address. Did they? Kingsdale's email addresses are of form @kingsdale.southwark.sch.uk .
  16. The recent Ofsted reports are here: http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reports/find-inspection-report/provider/ELS/136309
  17. > EH?!?!?!?! That's what I thought. Has ED been twinned recently with anywhere outside the solar system?
  18. I've had a quickish look through planning applications and decisions since October but not noticed anything that might be it. I did however see that there's an application in for St Thomas More Hall, for a change of use to community and nursery facilities. http://planningonline.southwark.gov.uk/AcolNetCGI.exe?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPNAME=Root.PgeResultDetail&TheSystemkey=9547699 And one to convert offices in Blackwater Street to "The Hangout", for leisure classes use, including some anti-gravity classes.
  19. I read your name "night-clicking" to start with. It looks neat and nifty, but what is the actual gain?
  20. Some counts made from http://ratings.food.gov.uk/search/ Postal district Exempt Non-exempt Score=0 Score=1 SE5 10 280 0.7% (2) 10.4% (29) SE15 18 412 1.7% (7) 18.0% (74) SE21 3 66 0% (0) 4.5% (3) SE22 11 215 0.9% (2) 10.7% (23) Score 0 = "Urgent improvement necessary" Score 1 = "Major improvement necessary"
  21. Is the 21st still treated as a special one?
  22. No signs on any of the bus stops, but according to the non-date-specific poster outside the station, the stops used are the William Rose one, opposite the hospital, for Tulse Hill direction, but stop U, the Derwent Grove one, in the other direction. I saw an empty one at Goose Green on its way to Peckham, as far from scheduled time as possible. But I think I'll wait till tomorrow. I was surprised to see that the ED ticket office was open, despite no trains.
  23. The National Rail Enquiries page for ED says in the Transport Links section: "Rail replacement - Down from station at existing bus stops on East Dulwich Grove." Does that mean a single designated stop for each direction, or any of them?
  24. Timetable 33 at http://www.southernrailway.com/your-journey/plan-my-journey/temporary-timetable-b shows trains from both Croydon and Beckenham Junction (headnote K), four per hour at non-peak times, more in rush hour.
