  1. That Face is returning to the West End on May 1st (a transfer from the Royal Court) with Lyndsey Duncan and looks excellent...
  2. Ooops - in my excitement of discussing the pics, I forgot to say a huge thank you to Andrew - they are great photos, which absolutely captured the spirit of the night ...
  3. It's from the film Sweet Charity.... "And she lived hopefully every after" Gosh, am I really such a cliche?
  4. Random at the Royal Court is v.good
  5. annaj Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > otherwise known as bignumber5... Hee hee I see what you mean.... no wonder you look like you're trying to bottle me at one point!
  6. A few days ago following an interview, I telephoned the potential line manager to tell him I was absolutely certain he wouldn't be able to manage me. It was quite a conversation. I've still to hear if I got the job ...
  7. Omigod...I am on the bus and my phone won't let me access flickr (keeps telling me it can't prove I'm 18 which rather tickles me). Who is Mr J? Alas my days of snogging in pubs are long gone ...thank God!
  8. maxbabe Wrote: > BB!!!!!! What is this??? Hope its not your > noisey/nosey neighbour making you jump ship????? > Hee hee Maxbabe - you clearly aren't that nosey a next-door neighbour! And as for noise, have the strains of Babs singing "Enough is enough" not drifted through the walls.....well, further proof that houses in Maxted Road are solidly built, with proper walls and proper soundproofing. Glad to hear good prices are still to be had - I must be positive! As for where I am going - eventually I hope to return to the Bellenden area to buy a flat. Though I hasten to add a decent flat - not one of the chopped up butchered monstrosities on offer around Maxted at the moment. After all where else could a single Bellenden Belle possibly live?
  9. I don't know yet Karter - waiting til the agents have been round...spoken to the estate agent who sold it to us - they said to expect forty thousand less than last summer... for once the scares seem to be true - the housing market is well and truly f@@ked.

Otherwise you would know, like every other person with a pulse in East Dulwich (or even East Dulwich borders) that my house is not the only thing on the market...

Should you not be asking if > people fancy having this chap in their "area most > desireable" for a day? > Too true.. in fact the simple promise of a breathy phone call from Phil and Kirstie (I love my women strong and my men cheeky) would be enough for me....
  12. With my teeny hangover lifted, I would just like to say what a lovely night I had once again. It was particularly lovely meeting for the first time Buggie (I shall remember your techniques when I next encounter a pert rugby player's bottom); Moos (loved the frankness re motherhood and am terribly envious of your flat stomach); and David Carnell (ahhh, if only all men were lucky enough to come out of their mother's womb in a pair a slippers and requesting a glass of sherry)! Also had great fun with all the regulars - Mockney, Lozzyloz, SteveT, Annaj,AnotherPaul, Sean Mcgabbhan, Bignumber5,CWALD, Georgia, AndrewCBlack, Alleycat - and everyone else! My guest and partner in crime for the evening Andrew also had a fab time - sooooo much so, he may be attending another... Ahhhhh, I love the EDF!
  13. Alan Dale Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Anyway this is not the thread for this - Bellenden > Belle is trying to find a fella to cowboy a young > lad from Sheffield... > Thank you very much Alan Dale but actually I have found the intensity and charge between you and *Bob* quite a thing to behold...the speed and passion of your sparring brought to mind Beatrice and thingmejig in Much Ado About Nothing...and I thought to myself "Good Lord...are Alan Dale and *Bob* flirting?" I love a good flirt myself - man, woman...sometimes even beast....
  14. KalamityKel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > u know there's no such thing as a perfect man > right? Oh KalamityKel my love - I know only too well ... But if there was such a thing as a perfect man he would of course be gay... Sigh.
  15. Thought I would briefly revive this thread to let people know that our 3 bed house will be coming on the market in around 6-8 weeks... might be worth people pm'ing me if they would like to be contacted nearer the time. It's lovely - we moved in eighteen months ago,- brand new bathroom (including stand alone shower and roll top bath and glass mosaic tiles); all the jobs that needed doing following the survey completed - brand new Worcester Bosch boiler; brand new double glazed wooden sash windows ... it's a gem.
  16. Oh gosh, I absolutely know he will fit in .... he's great and gets on with everyone...
  17. I have a darling friend who is attending EDF drinks with me tonight... as part of my attempt to lure him from Sheffield to be my partner-in-crime in London. Now - the deal-breaker, well not really - but a slight concern expresed to me is whether or not he is likely to meet the man of his dreams in East Dulwich. (Can I add that he has cheekbones to die for, and is himself the man of many men's dreams) .... and so I am wondering if Rainbow drinks do still exist? Certainly it was an idea knocking around last year .... did they happen, are they still happening ... and if so, can someone new join your gang?
  18. Oh Chav I think I will stick with finding out about masonary nails for the time being....unless that was a euphemism? I'm such a innocent (she says with wide eyes and her usual butter wouldn't melt expression) Giggirl - fair enuff, if u r coming on Friday mine will be a gin and tonic!
  19. Thank you so much Giggirl and Moos for your kind words. It makes such a huge difference to actually customise a room... I imagine it's why teenagers spend so much time organising what's on their walls. I'm rather liking the idea of being a grown up teenager! Seriously I left before and spent six months refusing to do anything to my room in a shared house - cause it was temporary until I found a place of my own. No wonder I got depressed and gave up - my new philosophy is that this new place is my home, maybe for a week, maybe a month, maybe six months... and that making the effort to get my single room welcoming and lovely is a real act of healing and moving on. Hoorah!
  20. Oh Chav - I clearly need to buy a book...what's a masonary nail? But fear not - the piece is now up, I am thrilled, and very touched by the offers of help. Many thanks Brendan - I owe you a drink!
  21. Hello guys, Okay so some people on here are aware that theres been a few changes happening in my life.... Now I am very pleased to say that over the past six days I have proved myself hugely resourceful... both practically and emotionally. BUT and its a big but - I have an achilles heel. I can't or to be honest won't do DIY. I have moved into a small room in a house with a friend....and have bought a single piece of art to mark the occasion. Could someone hang it - my friend can't help as she asks my (soon to be ex) to hang all her paintings. For a bottle of wine would someone bring round a hammer (or drill or whatever one requires) and put up my rather significant new piece? Pms please... and any discussion advice you have to offer is welcome too on this thread.
  22. Chelsea Hotel no.2 - Leonard cohen (or Rufus Wainwright in recent years)
  23. I'm sorry but I do have to ask .... were you smoking at the time? Hee hee - just joking poor SeanmLow - all these fines, I imagine you are becoming poorer by the day. Personally I don't drive so can't answer your question - sorry.
  24. Overpriced, obnoxious, and while the tea is lovely, the sandwiches and cake (as someone who has had their cream tea) are miserable. A recent Time Out reviewer agreed.... Style over substance I'm afraid. But Jools - beware, a first time negative post - I did exactly the same thing over a year ago... weather the storm, people get protective on here of their favourite joints... but we all stay friends in the end. Welcome.
  25. What's the word for those people who appear on the forum, usually very dramatically, kick up a stink, and then disappear from sight.... I'm thinking Spangles; I'm thinking that funny old kid-hating piano teacher; the more recent poster about the Youth Offender Centre opening... where are they in the scheme of things... are they all sitting in a rehab session together (or around one big cauldron) as we speak? We need to know!
