  1. Sorry to hear that. Someone stole mine once and used it to smash the windows a few doors along. Lots of plant thefts reported over summer in the side streets near the station. It will be Christmas wreaths next. I also stopped a woman in my front garden trying to make off with my garden table. Didn’t stop when I asked her what she was doing, clearly thought it was totally fine. There are some very unpleasant people around.
  2. I can’t get a straight answer from the vet, they say I need to look online, but I’m still unclear. We have kittens and want to cover them with pet plan which is a good price and covers them for vaccinations, neutering and microchips, as well as flea treatment and health checks. I want to know if I can transfer the plan when we sell the kittens and which vets the scheme covers. We are registered with The Neighbourhood Vet
  3. Please look out for him. He’s a daddy to young kittens and never goes far. Upland Road area
  4. Doubles as a big umbrella
  5. And then, all the other little shops up and down the road decide to do the same - ice cream needs to be shaded, diners kept cool, the butcher needs shade so the meat doesn't go off, Poundland needs more space as it can't get all it's stock inside, the charity shops bring out the clothes rails...... then we could argue that we can close the roads to traffic.
  6. Well we are. It's just a comment as the context is not the same as if we are in the Med. Also, more traffic than there was in 1800s Peckham. like comparing apples and bicycles really - doesn't make a valid case. And there's no point in guessing whether I care or don't care - as you don't know and I haven't said.
  7. They have space inside the shop as well. They’ve just opted to extend their shop across the pavement. And honestly, we don’t have the same weather in South London
  8. We're not in Southern France, we're in South London
  9. That's a very general and bland comment. Did you read that there is a real threat in our local park of a child predator, already known to police.
  10. Children know what Stranger Danger is but they don't have any context and don't know what it means. Nearly All children can be persuaded by puppies, ice creams etc. Even if you are watchful, predators wait for the one second you have turned your gaze away.
  11. little bit vague - dark skin, short hair?
  12. I agree there should be a description of the person (woman in this case).
  13. I'm not sure what it would gain. The court ordering Southwark to issue an ASBO possibly. Have you tried contacting your local counsellor and seeing if they can help? Have the police followed up with the person? They ought to have done.
  14. Not reliably enough to assume you can get out. That's how the kids got locked in. They're better at locking it now.
  15. why would he do that? If it's late and dark, the park will close. It's not hard - it does get really dark in there so you would know I've not been to the Horniman in the evening, but tempted now
  16. You'd also think there would be an emergency number to call other than the Fire.
  17. That is quite possibly the worst trolling I've ever seen.
  18. DP has a noticeboard of the Park closing times. It's also online. The gates are locked by the gatekeeper which drives around the perimeter, and not before the noted closure time and not usually before dark. The fire brigade have been called to help children who have been locked in. They didn't have a set of keys, so really best avoided.
  19. The fact that this is not the first incident is even more alarming (not to diminish your experience). Why are there no warnings or notices, or police presence?
  20. they reduced the number of events and opted for fewer larger events instead - seems reasonable. https://www.timeslocalnews.co.uk/local-news/pub-in-the-park-festival-no-longer-viable-for-town-organisers-say/
  21. I think Dulwich Park is much better suited to it. The transport is a factor but then same goes for a lot of other festivals.
  22. little bee in your cycling helmet?
