We used to do this as kids. Just because it's disorganised (i.e. no ID and close to the actual event) doesn't mean they are not doing what they say and raising money with good heart. Ask the child to clearly state the school they are at and the details of the event they are seeking sponsorship for. I would assume the reaction / repsonse would confirm if this is honest or not.

I don't believe the council are in the process of selling council property to private buyers - if anything they will sell to tenants or keep their stock to house the vulnerable.

no, that's just what dogs do. Issue lies with the owner - who has to teach dog expected behaviour.

natural manoeuvre into the impact of eating meat on your health based on how it is produced, impact on the environment and largely hidden horrors of factory farming, as well as the Ethical stance is the new restaurant adheres to in terms of supply. Sensible organic alternatives reduce antibiotics, fat-inducing and other drugs that are commonplace in mass produced factory animals - and the circle that comes back to supply/ choices/ health/ ethics....

Yes - thanks - hadn't realised the implications. We're shopping for the box sets - so all above board - had not intended it to be otherwise! Warnings heeded - appreciated. -

How to download tv series for free

that's true - not sure it's actually possible. We can get it on Netflix, but are after something we can watch without needing data so can save to hard drive. My daughter doen't have internet when she's away. Not that I object to paying but ?2.50 an episode would cost a small fortune! -
we want to download the enitre series of something but I can only find Tzarmedia who take credit card details. We are not taht clued up so woudl like a link please, if anyone knows? In particular, looking for Pretty Little Liars (yes - all series - girls are addicted!)

I can print leaflets - if there's a standard one? Not very creative, but will do what I can to help.

I would never assume tax departments are working together and would always play it safe. You should call the tax office and ask them about your personal circumstances and what you personally need to complete/ submit. I would certainly say you have to inform tax credit of your income details - regardless of completing a Self Employment return. This aside, tax credit will want to know of any changes to your income, whereas the assessment is an annual position (cumulative).

Lambs bouncing around the fields and happy cows eating clover is how meat should be reared. It isn't the case in the most - and as consumers we have a voice in supporting the methods in place. There is a vast industry in factory farming, where animals are pumped ful of drugs to make them fat, leaving them in really disgusting conditions - which is tantamount to cruelty and abuse. The antibiotics and fat-inducing drugs do actually make their way into our own body, which really isn't healthy. No-one is saying that we shouldn't eat meat - just saying that individuals shoudl be aware of the choices they are making and the behaviours they are condoning by the choices they make. Organic meat is better for you, better for the animal and that has to be good. If you're not sure about how the meat reaches your table, perhaps you could find out. Compassion in World Farming advocate http://www.ciwf.org.uk/ woudl be an informative read. They are not saying 'let's all go vegan' but are working toward ending the cruelty of factory farming. PETA - are advocating being vegan - no end of real clips of what actually happens in the meat industry. Quite nasty. If we are having a new burger chain in ED, then I would hope it would make choices that are ethical and supportive of compassionate farming. In which case, thta's great as we know that by supportig the place we are also making those choices (inadvertently) - which can only be better than the methods we support passively by going to KFC, for example. Imported meat means that standards do not need to be adhered to as they don't necessarily apply in other countries - and then we would be looking at transporting livestock and that is a whole other area that is unacceptable. It's not a middle class problem, to care for the welfare of other life on this planet. It's not a problem at all - the more people that care, the better. What is the problem, is the apathy and treatment of animals that this apathy allows. I will ask the new restaurant to communicate their Food Ethics Policy. Hopefully they'll post it on here. I will, however, when I get a response. Hopeing it's a good one and we can all enjoy knowing that the burgers were once happy cows, frolicking in the clover....and not the other end of the scale

well sadly that attitude of 'don't care' about welfare standards is exactly what makes the meat farming industry allowed to keep on with it's awful practises. I suppose, what you don't see doesn't impact you - right? LMAO

You would need to register the cause/ collection as a charity - alternative being a business which has tax implications. You would also need a bank account in the name of the cause for the donations and expenditure - you most certainly couldn't put it into your own personal account - that would be fraud. A charity has to be auditable and file accounts, just as a business would. Donations are often received as cash, but also direct debit. AS such you would need to be able to register donors and keep a track of their individual donations (of course, remembering to thank them). Obviously, donations from street collections wouldn't apply, but depends on the scale of the charity and the money needed/ methods of collection. Also, you'd have to look at the way the collections could be spent. If, as an example - someone donates money to fund a certain piece of equipment at a hospital, that money cannot be used for other things, so you would want to be clear that money will be spend on general things of the specific nature of the cause. Unless you have a very specific thing in mind.

oh dear lord. can't we have something exciting? Can we at least demand they use animals reared organically and not pumped full of antibiotics and drugs? Clearly, we won't be going there.

yes, I think he probably didn't deserve that, Horsebox, but whose to judge

look for 'corded curtain tracks' on google. it's a specific type - but there's loads of links. This one's good. http://www.johnlewis.com/buying-guides/curtain-tracks-buying-guide

It's very hard - it should never be too late for mediation - that's exactly when it helps. If both are owner-occupiers then it really needs some support. Otherwise, it sounds like legal advice is required. Have you tried Citizen's Advice?

ED Morris Dancing - what a brilliant idea! Would you lead it, Foxy?
