  1. Really - it is a charity shop and as such should try and get as much value from the donations people give as possible. Take it as a given you won't expect the same level of clarity as you would in a retail shop and try and find the amusing side. After all - a book for 25p is a bargain - as is a book for a couple of quid.
  2. I think you should increase the size of the fence to shut your neighbours out and pretend they don't exist. Any attempts on their part to threaten you or abuse you should be met firmly with the authorities. Or a visit.
  3. Rather than just how annoying it is for you, perhaps you might consider it's actually not on to leave dogs outside in the cold. If this dog is still locked out come dark, please contact the police. It's the most common form of animal abuse.
  4. I believe so - was recommended on the forum for Fireworks night
  5. You can't see them in town unless you have a ticket - the buildings are in the way (sorry, you probably know that!) We'll be local too...maybe see you there!
  6. yes Sue - spelling mistake in my latin. I did indeed mean Arbore (being tree) :-) Flavia was sitting under the tree. Her friend was playing with the wolf.
  7. Flavia sub abore sedet
  8. There's defo something about Cheese that I'm missing. Borough market cheese event was rammed - according to the metro
  9. DD that's not very nice. We just get things people would use but little things - kids might get scented pens or pretty sets of beads etc... Just inexpensive niceness. Adults would probably get nice choccies or similar
  10. you could check journey planner on line as this should indicate any disruption
  11. chock-a-block
  12. It varies. I held my breath when the little lizard out-smarted the snakes.... that was just plain scary

  14. Thanks Sally Eva - we left at 7 - took about 20mins to get to ND. Probably have to leave more time for a later bus journey - we were rather early this morning! Still confused about the trains - once an hour? Is the timetable online correct?
  15. We need to get to North Dulwich tomorrow morning by 8am. Best way? Walk? What are the roads like that time of morning from Peckham Rye? Train timetable says no trains after 7,17 for an hour. Is that due to strike or misinformation in the timetable. Will get a cab if need be. Walk otherwise.
  16. trees do not cause pollution - what utter drivel. The change in air flow might stop pollution rising into the atmosphere but trees release oxygen
  17. well, just buy what you want from somewhere that will sell you what you want in the quantities you want. Then everyone's happy and you won't need to complain publicly about not getting what you want when you want it from someone who doesn't want to sell you everything they have.
  18. 'selfish' is the word that springs to mind.... the next being 'spoilt'
  19. in positions of such importance, should we really make such big mistakes in order to learn basic lessons? I think some positions should be trained and as such be aware of what to do in such a situation. Something this serious should have been reported immediately. Perhaps it was - or was not - an attempted abduction, but there was a potential very serious risk identified and ignored. I'm sorry to sooth it over, but I think it's a shocking lack of responsibility on nanny's part.
  20. soya milk isn't actually good for you. Particularly in large quantities. You could try making almond milk at home :-)
  21. Lots of fab veg side-dish recipies.... try this... http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2955690/honeyroasted-swede-with-chilli-and-cumin
  22. I'm going to get one too - That's a great idea - thanks for the update :-)
