  1. The hardest thing for me was realizing the responsibility of shaping someone's mental health and resilience. How to respond to situations and how to look after yourself emotionally. Bullying is particularly difficult for children to deal with and it's important not to just spend time with your children but to use your time together to help them build up ways of dealing with and managing all the challenges that come their way.
  2. yes I agree - recent behavior has shown how unprofessional and incompetent many of these politicans are. I look forward to mass resignation and an influx of highly skilled professionals who pride themselves on their negotiating skills and personal integrity, who care deeply about their positions and are committed to delivering their objectives. I look forward to winning the lottery, which may be more realistic.
  3. well, not really true. We had a referendum (not a frequent thing) and then we're doing what the referendum vote decided on, although it's proving tricky as EU think a proposal amounts to a done-deal and this proposal was rejected as not in our best interests. True that a number of people think that it doesn't count or that we can have another one until there is a different result (best out of three?) but that doesn't really matter. There is always lots of 'noise'.
  4. the opposition to what? it's all grass roots and not getting anywhere.
  5. unrealistic. Just because someone said someone wants something doesn't mean it will happen. A people's vote would not achieve resolution in the timeframe and even if people were in 100% agreement on it (presumably it would have to be very clear what it was voting on) it doesn't mean it would lead to those being baked into an agreement with the EU. Corbyn would do better to come up with realistic suggestions - he might even gain favour if he could suggest a way May can get through all of this.
  6. He was talking about the newspapers reporting it, not the voters and not selected individuals.
  7. This is all so grown up and professional.
  8. do you think they will stop the very stringent checks for such?
  9. The snake who ate itself. The thread about interesting threads, has actually made the list it's listing http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,491671,page=20

  11. Was he in school uniform? I've been told that The Charter School students are being targeted because they are seen as being wealthy. Thank you for letting us all know. I hope your son is ok. I hope that the additional officers is not just for Feb but ongoing from February.
  12. We will always ask who it is but if it's someone we don't know, we won't open it. There are surprises we like, but this isn't one of them.
  13. on page 71 of a post? I don't think it's just me that is unhappy with the situation Joe.
  14. ok, let's have everyone's suggestions for a working agreement, rather than just digging at each other
  15. I don't think anyone wants no deal - EU or UK - or any individuals - and hopefully the fact that it is a very possibly outcome will focus everyone involved in getting something that actually works. What May has put forward is an equally unfeasible alternative. It's two extremes.
  16. I like it when people criticize but are not able to come up with an alternative.
  17. I did it through MSE (link above) and got thousands with no commission - really really easy
  18. I totally agree.
  19. Hindsight is a wonderful things - however, we should not have negotiators who are as grossly incompetent as ours.
  20. It wouldn't have made a difference - we have been thwarted by lack of ability to negotiate a position for UK and not surrender leverage. We were in a strong position to leave and get a decent deal. May's deal puts Britain in a worse position and of course, this is preferable to the EU.
  21. Peta Credin actually completely nails it.
  22. RH - if 35% of the population voted Leave - what was the % for Remain? Lower, clearly. So - neither are in the majority. Which means the by default that the majority of people don't actually care.
  23. Can you lobby Southwark to get the parking restriction changed to short stops only? Who is your local councillor?
  24. it is indeed possible.
