  1. Yes, I heard that - but I thought you got vouchers to spend. More details of outlets accepting /buying clothes by weight would be helpful.
  2. organised crime filtering gently into society. Starting off lightly and before you know it, it's morphed into something extremely dangerous and out of control.
  3. James - what IS being done about the moped attacks? It's no longer funny and we can't any longer say they're pests. The fact that this is unchecked (because chasing them could be dangerous to them and the public) is allowing it to escalate. We've seen the violence that this is turning into.
  4. I save mine up until I've got a spare Saturday and then drop it off. There are loads of places so it's not hard to make a journey in opening hours. Obviously, I'm perfect. Maybe other people just don't think or don't realise - and think they're doing the right thing, that fits in with their availability. Perhaps rather than complaining, ask the shops to put BIG notices up saying that donations left outside cannot be sold and the charity actually has to pay for it's disposal. Maybe then the penny will drop.
  5. I am the equivalent in my family. But I unpack as well :-)
  6. I think he's brilliant. Shockingly inappropriate for the role he has, but in a harmless way. Principles of integrity duty and loyalty shine through compared to the drivel we have as politicans these days.
  7. think she's being to grasp she can change her perception
  8. All good points - thank you. I'll try and get her to reframe her fear into something a little more accepting. I've had foxes before and they ate my tomatoes!
  9. Actually it's my very freaked out boss; They've dug a den under the shed and a tunnel into the lawn. There are cubs as well. Anyone any experience of moving them on, humanely? I told her about peeing in the garden :-)
  10. anything by the family kids....suggestion above is perfect. Otherwise, maybe have a birthday occasion and get friends family there
  11. Peckham Rye to Shoreditch is on the Overground,
  12. they work hard and don't complain because they often are replaceable. my friend asked for extra hours - so they said he could work the same hours over six days instead of five days. When he asked for a Saturday off, they told him to not come back. he now works seven days a week to get a decent amount of money each week...it's actually heartbreaking.
  13. Tories borrow more money than Labour.
  14. It's relevant to seek information on serious crime if it's in your community.
  15. You'll probably remember the last time the country was sick of the Tories and voted tactically - Tony Blair became our new PM. I remember how excited people were. I can assure you, with a weak leader like Corbyn, Blair will e sniffing around for any opportunity. And he's an evil man. So I will be voting doubly tactically.
  16. you can't do home cooked due to health and safety (i.e. standards for food hygiene and prep).
  17. "These things happen"????? oh, ok.. that's reassuring - I was about to be concerned. So long as we shoudl just take it in our stride. Passive acceptance of murder. Outrageous opinion. While we can all be safe and happy knowing that Peckham is the Best Place to Live in London it might be better to actually write to your MP and complain about the lack of police presence and budget cuts and MAYBE when there's another General Election actually vote according to your hopes for your community.
  18. because they're secret Tories and won't admit it or they're easily swayed by media, which is driven to reduce the man
  19. thanks for the reminder. very easy to do - literally seconds. I've sent mine
  20. Sounds like a good plan. Sometimes things are just not worth the stress. :-)
  21. Does it have any impact on your overall performance outcome? If not, I might be inclined to leave it and make a mental note going forward to document everything and follow up with an email saying 'this is a summary of our conversation'. If it IS going to cause a problem, I would as the third person for their notes and say that there are some items that you feel have been included/ excluded and could you run through them together. If it was mentioned perhaps they could help clarify the focus that was spent on it - and if the appraisal does not draw attention to it that is not warranted. It needs to be a record of what was discussed. Maybe your manager forgot to mention it and wants to drop it in. If you don't remember, or disagree - either way there is not problem in checking. That's what the other person is there for.
  22. I'm sure if you practice the journey with her she'll be perfectly fine. ?You have plenty of time. Put an app on her phone so when knows when the next bus is coming. It's daunting as she's still at primary school but their world will change in a day once they reach Y7. I'd enrolled my daughter for a school bus, which we didn't actually ever use. I took her on her first day and by the end of that day she wanted to make her own way home.
  23. it's normal for children of staff to be given priority. And it makes sense.
