  1. minnow....me too
  2. Maybe salmon elss would be more interested?
  3. I think you can google courses, or have a chat with the Lido.
  4. it's not rocket science. They're looking for anything of value, as people throw all sorts away and people's idea of rubbish is different to other people's.
  5. Natty, give the samaritans a call. They have a free phone line - 116 123 They will be able to recommend support, if you need more support than they offer. Otherwise, you could go to your GP. Make an emergency appointment (i.e. just turn up first thing in the morning, but check with receptionist when they give out the daily appointments) http://www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help-you/samaritans-free-call-helpline-number-faqs
  6. my high horse? really? what, having the temerity to suggest the initiative to stop the tax avoidance by 'cash-in-hand' also be applied to corporations? yes - how very unhumble of me.
  7. That's just very very wrong. Obviously stealing food from a child. I can't really get my head around that concept. And I completely agree with you about stealing.
  8. Cash in hand is generally not declared which is actually fraud. In practical terms, it would mean your cleaner sending you an invoice rather than you leaving money on the side. I think we all do/ have done it. My friend gets less than ?9 an hour which is taxed. The need to maximise such low rates is hardly surprising. Perhaps the government should cast their net wider and look at how much corporation tax is lost every year from the economy through loop holes and avoidance by large companies. Perhaps a starting point would be to ask her husband - as Mr May is an exec at an investment co, profiting from Corporation Tax avoidance - so he'd probably know http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/theresa-may-philip-may-amazon-starbucks-google-capital-group-philip-morris-a7133231.html
  9. That's really rather sad. Someone must have been hungry. Perhaps it was a child out on their own and not given any food. I wouldn't leave valuables on their own, but I really hope this was a one off and not indicating anything worse.
  10. Drop then a Killers cd and see if things improve
  11. really? If the culprit is known then the whereabouts of the bike can be extracted. So what is the point of your post? Children under a certain age have anonymity for crime so you should think carefully before posting names. If I was this child's mother I would be livid. Regardless or not of the severity of the incident.
  12. oh, I was lucky then as they only stole my wheel
  13. surprised you've not had any replies. The Wetherspoons in Peckham is open to midnight, might be entertaining?
  14. I like prosecco for making bellinis (peach, but guava is better), but not on it'a own
  15. Likewise. Have always made effort with neighbours. Why wouldn't you. Grew up knowing everyone in my road and around the block and that's just defined my ways.
  16. the notice about the incident is good. Put up photo too - offer reward for info
  17. Is wine involved, Captain? Might sway your guest ;-)
  18. the Lido in Charlton is nice. Water is heated, it's clean too (which is a bonus) I've raised concerns with safety at Brockwell Lido as have other people. There's a forum thread on it.
  19. Barbeques are great - a good get together outside - can be anywhere - just brilliant way to be sociable and get off the devices, away from the TV and chatting to people. WE have a big summer party every year and BBQ the food. Make our own burgers too. My friend has been known to BBQ I winter too and I've definitely been to more than one when it's raining. It doesn't have to be meat, lots of veggie options too. Maybe if there's a problem with your neighbours, you could actually invite them over. Why the hell not. You never know, you might actually make a friend or two.
  20. Horrible. Don't go there.
  21. you'll have to try out all the places to see what you like. Stratford has a shopping centre, as does Westfield. We like to mooch about around Carnaby Street and Camden, but can't abide Oxford Street. Different places for different things.
  22. Kbabs Homeless = socially unwanted? I think your views are in their own class of socially unwanted. You really have no humanity. Do you not have any idea how easy it is to become homeless? And I would assume you have no idea how hard it is to get out of that position? Not all homeless people are thieves. not all thieves are homeless.
