  1. My rice steamer. And my alarm clock. God knows where we'd be without it - late and asleep most probably.
  2. My friend got whopped with an ?80 on the spot fine. Has anyone else heard about this?
  3. I make my own with ground chili and fresh lime juice
  4. WE use Amazon Prime for shopping and music (could do without it, but like the music). Netflix for TV, which we love. We also have Sky but could easily do without it There are lots of different options I don't fully understand so hopefully, the Forum will bring forth pearls of wisdom!
  5. if you actually think back, Brockwell Park used to host Gay Pride and a cannabis festival (although under the guise of something else possibly). Rather than knock the festival itself and the money coming into the area, knock the organisers for their lack of good management and ensure the council put controls in place for it to be successful. I absolutely love Brockwell Park, it's my favourite place.
  6. That's good. Nothing worse than a bad nights sleep. :-) early night, tonight!
  7. The mayoral strategy is to encourage building in our gardens to address the shortage of stock. This is a winner. Although, at what stage will we run out of buyers who can afford the prices of housing as is?
  8. and the OP said they were on mopeds, which travelers don't have.
  9. Do travellers now have mopeds?
  10. I would fully support the Co-op and wish they can organise themselves to live up to their potential. Does anyone actually know who to speak to/ what needs to happen/ why it's in this mess? I would much rather buy British meat that's not transported to EU or outside for slaughter than buy meat from Tesco / Asda/ Sainsbury's etc. We should be able to buy locally sourced meat from supermarkets. Not sure why? Don't want to look at pictures? Have a look at Compassion in World Farming - www.ciwf.com Maybe if there was better education around the cruelty towards the animals we eat, we would make better choices and actually make a positive change. The Co-op is there, on our doorstep and is much more ethical than other supermarkets. We should support it's #recovery' in every way we can.
  11. we had this post last year. I'm looking forward to Christmas. I love it :-)
  12. I miss Rose who used to work in the Co-op. The staff have changed. I only go in there every now and then but managed to stock up on basics the other day without noticing any mould, chill or other complaint.
  13. hi Clare, there are nanny companies/ agencies - perhaps they could help?
  14. They shouldn't have asked your age. It would seem that it could be a reason they haven't replied. I think it could equally be because you are not available immediately. I wouldn't say it's one over the other at all. I would be inclined to pop in and see them, with a view to getting constructive feedback. As Mark says - it demonstrates skills you would need any way and there's nothing wrong with stepping out of your comfort zone.
  15. 7.30 am is deathly quiet in my house during half term. In fact, I think they're still asleep, so you're defo not talking about me. I'm with Mark though - if it happens all the time, just have a little chat. I'm also of the view that kids are kids and it's actually lovely to hear them playing.
  16. The idea that it was such a pre-meditated attack and so violent is just chilling. I can't imagine living inside such a sick and twisted mind.
  17. and then there's the environmental cost of bottled water, which is far too low on people's priorities
  18. This is fantastic news and I'm really pleased. I love our cinema. In fact, we'll be going this weekend
  19. it's not just football that causes littering - I've seen a group of people literally get up from their picnic and walk off - leaving everything on the ground where they were sitting. If Southwark had the money they would do nicely collecting fines for littering and might even improve the borough. General thinking, from what I understand, is that it's somebody's job to clean it up...and on the street, it is.
  20. we had some and some died outside. it was awful. WE ended up building a shed and keeping them in there but letting them in the house too. I would strongly advise against it unless you are able to insulate them properly, keep them draught free and warm.
  21. can you tell us the age group of the children involved please?
  22. I'm sorry to hear this has happened to your son. He did very well though in handing the items over and making his way home. I'm sure you'll give him all the support ad hugs he needs, but just in case it helps to make him feel any better, another mum thinks he's very brave.
