  1. I hope your project is based on the losses of life each one commemorates rather than how 'arty' the bikes are, perhaps with an emphasis on raising awareness of the dangers of the road for cyclists.
  2. .
  3. It's worthy of noting that the animals are on rotation - it means that this is likely affecting more than one animal.
  4. I think you actually need holiday rather than pushing yourself to make such a big decision. It's sounds like you are tired to your core, which is completely understandable if you have a little one. Being this drained affects your decision making and pretty much adds a touch of greyness to everything (are you sure you're not a bit depressed? have you spoken to your doctor?) Things that jump out at me - if you can work from home, why not do it now? change your work/ life balance in your favour. are you paying off more debt than you can afford? why not take a break, benefit from the hard work you are doing? I love London, I love getting out of London and I love coming back. My kids are at school but I say when I am old I will go and live somwhere hot - growing old in the UK is not on my agenda at all. Look at it anyway you like - Hove is not far from London so it's not really a big move - it's not like moving to Australia; but you need to sort your Self out first - or you'll just carry this energy wherever you go.
  5. classy
  6. And how are you going to know that? As they grow up they need your guidance and trust. I think your motivation is curious.
  7. Kids live in a different world. I think you are seeking the impossible but instead need to look at what you can control. I have had an ongoing battle about phones and there is a balance. It's important our young people learn how to make good choices - and how to balance work (yes, school is HARD), sleep, eating well, sleeping well and relaxing and exercising is important. Get one element wrong and it all goes wrong. For example - too much phone activity at night disrupts sleep/ affects everything else.... For example - too much sleep affects eating properly/ school work / etc.... I think it's better they learn to balance - rather than being denied something that it now woven into life.
  8. End of March is often the end of the financial year and budgets have to be spent, or lost. Possibly this is Southwark's year end - I don't know but guessing it's the case. Any company with surplus at the end of the year - which it spends on non-critical items, is demonstrating a lack of financial acumen and poor planning of its resources.
  9. Mototrbike theft is also lucrative. The bikes in parts before you know it and it's worth more that way. I don't think Insurance companies even bother trying to trace them anymore.
  10. Great article. Really strong message from the supporters.
  11. Going out for afternoon tea is a treat - more so than going out for a local curry, which is something we do more often. The local equivalent of afternoon tea is a latte and a croissant - not my cup of tea when it comes to special occasions. I would go to F&M most probably, but we like Patisserie Valerie near St Pauls too.
  12. you posted before on here - why not revive the existing thread rather than start a new one?
  13. But there's something about the burbs that's a bit scary really. It's like a one-way ticket to premature old age. I'm ok with the overpriced coffee tbh. I love London (but not the edges)
  14. Stoat
  15. I hope the family get the support they need - sadly, you can't be too careful.
  16. If I were you, I'd be worried that I didn't wake up in the process.
  17. get in touch with Transport for London and ask them
  18. why open the door in the first place? Why not just say 'sorry, can't come to the door'
  19. It is normal in our organization for NPL to be contracted for 8 hours a day. Why don't you agree to pay for the set piece of work instead? You'll need to lay out the specifics.
  20. We have three massive bins and a small front garden. Perhaps there's too much packaging on our shopping if we all are expected to get these filled every week.
  21. More about the ghost please (the top floor - how do you know she's not a kindly spirit?)
  22. A good way to change your outlook on life is to explore. Go on weeksnds away or go to places you wouldn't normally (get on a train for a Sunday walk, go shopping in different towns etc) - you'll start to realize quite quickly, that doing new things is not as hard as you may have thought - you just need to start
