They'll just look through your accounts and make sure it's all in order - and your VAT returns are supported with the correct document - invoices, receipts etc. So long as everything's in order you'll be fine.
SATS don't come into the secondary selection, other than to stream your child (if the school does this) and give an indication. It's largely a measure for the primary school.
I wouldn't be surprised if TfL has it's own version to replace Uber. While Uber is convenient, it is unregulated and they have not complied. Possibly Corporate arrogance. "TfL considers that Uber's approach and conduct demonstrate a lack of corporate responsibility in relation to a number of issues which have potential public safety and security implications. These include: Its approach to reporting serious criminal offences. Its approach to how medical certificates are obtained. Its approach to how Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks are obtained. Its approach to explaining the use of Greyball in London - software that could be used to block regulatory bodies from gaining full access to the app and prevent officials from undertaking regulatory or law enforcement duties."
Sleep vouchers she can redeem for an immediate no questions-asked break in the coming months :-) Of course, presents are lovely, but you cannot underestimate the value a few hours will be worth. I hope all goes well for you all
I've had issue with a locum at this surgery and made a complaint to the manager. I was dealt with promptly and effectively. In the situation you explain, there is lack of fact about the receptionist liaising with the doctor or not. In any instance, I would have made a formal complaint and sought an explanation. It seems highly unlikely that a doctor would ignore a call for medical help in an emergency.
That commercialism gives me feelings of dread....a bit like being on a treadmill...one big 'event' after another, that are supposed to define our lives - at a certain standard and at a certain cost. Can we just not talk about Christmas yet please? I like it - but just not yet.
You could talk to the school to see if they have any suggestions - particularly for the new intake. Otherwise, you'll find routine settles in pretty quickly. It's only the first week ;-)
I am loving this summer. I'd hardly even noticed that it's getting dark early. Signs it's changing - the leaves falling as I was waiting on LL the other day - took me by surprise - hot water bottle last night, bought chicken soup today and no one wanted salad with their dinner this evening. It was very hot today (well, my office is very sunny) and then torrential rain. I love it :-) I don't like autumn when we're not had a nice summer....it feels wrong. Not this year though.
ooops. I imagine she feels as awkward about it as you do. I hope, one day when you see her, you can smile, admit to how awkward it is and maybe allow both of you to laugh about it. Or, send her a card...one that plays Christmas Carols :-)
Tolerance to noise plummets when I am busy / concentrating or tired. Well done Sue - stood your ground AND met a new friend :-) Some people would have just thrown the brick.
I assume tipping is an appreciation of good work. I've no qualms about not tipping for a bad haircut. In fact, they would know by then that I wasn't happy. But then, I wouldn't go back anyway. My girls had their haircut and I went to tip when I paid by card but was told they can't take tips on card. I was mortified as had no cash. I always give them a fiver or so. Keeps the good will running a bit smoothly if you're regulars. Ac couple of pounds is also fine. It's what you feel able to give and is not at all a fixed amount.
Once when I had my old phone, some kids asked me what the time was and burst out laughing when I took my phone out to look. It was quite funny. I would presume they think all phones are worth value - which they are, although some more than others.
