  1. If it's any help, we're strict about turning the TV (and phones etc.) off at least an hour before bedtime - and my girls are teenagers! It's had an immediate positive impact on sleep - my eldest was not sleeping until midnight is now asleep by 9.30. Mornings are another story altogether....... but one things at a time :-)
  2. sorry to put a dampner on it, but the trend is over. It's now cubes.
  3. The last thing you want is a rats nest, so I would get in the professionals. Please don't use glue traps - they're very cruel. Rats are intelligent and have feelings. Some people may not put any importance on either of those things but there are better ways to kill a rat. Our building sewer hadn't had the rat-seal on and one woman found one in her loo!! Can't imagine the sheer fright!
  4. there is that.
  5. She's establishing a new routine, as you have described above, so you need to knock it on the head. I would cut out the daytime nap and set up very strict routine. When she says no, just continue. Don't engage in discussion/ argument. When she gets out of bed, tell her - It's bedtime now and put her back. Next time, just put her back and don't speak. And keep putting her back every time she gets out. Your reaction is her reward....she's getting more time with you and getting to stay up later. Does she really need a bottle before bed? If she has her dinner and a drink she shouldn't be hungry, so water should do. Perhaps it's a comfort thing? Persevere, but keep to your routine.
  6. do you really think she was promoting the party? or her own interests?
  7. I'm with Chick... I wouldn't have given them the time of day. Perhaps a 'thank you for pointing that out....have a lovely day' and then ignored them.
  8. Do you really think that we will face the world as a two-headed nonce unable to make a decision or have any leadership at all? Do you think our politicians are actually that vile and self-centered that they will continue in that vein?
  9. weak and without Leadership was the comment from one country yesterday. Sweden?
  10. Labour did exceptionally well, particularly given the lack of confidence a year ago. Give them time to prove themselves and they will grow. This vote was not based on record of achievements, but promises and hope. If that is delivered, it will set the future for them.
  11. May will go. She might say she won't but she has a reputation for changing her mind.
  12. Boris and Trump....Heaven help us
  13. Of course, then there are those who will think there is no point in voting now the results are forecast. I'm voting to win ;-)
  14. eitherway, she is currently/ permanently not up to it and was causing problems by representing her party.
  15. voting via X-box seems fitting.
  16. A bit late in the game for a substitute, had to be done though. Is there enough time to reassure the voting masses that Lyn Brown is up to it?
  17. Well, with Diane Abbott and TM's promise to evoke Human Rights, I think it's all over. People are so fickle.
  18. well, there is that. Protection of Human Rights.
  19. I don't think it means literally sitting outside their house/ following them 24hours every day.
  20. If only Donald Trump wasn't married already ;-)
  21. I didn't at all read into it any criticism of the police. Quite the opposite actually. I'm a bit disappointed that messages are being misinterpreted to suit individual agendas. So far (and after only three posts), it's 1) not fact because he's a leftie. It 2) fact but it doesn't matter as crime is falling 3) criticism of the job our police did on Saturday night
  22. oh. is he misquoting numbers and making it up?
  23. https://skwawkbox.org/2017/06/04/huge-senior-police-officer-says-may-lying-re-police-nossecurity-ge17-kirkham/ Basically, the increased numbers is due to pulling police onto longer hours and from other areas. Cutting. Damning. By a Senior police officer.
  24. shock. gasp. this is getting off topic and quite out of hand. can we stop being personal please. (that's not a question, btw).
  25. You could try the mini ones. Very crunchy. Or own brand ones instead. Interested to here the Which? Weetabix results!
