  1. I am in the park everyday and have not seen horses. I can therefore imagine that a number of people are also not aware that horses may be in the park. Many dogs will not have seen horses before and it's known that they will be scared and could chase the horses. It's awful to think about what could happen. Dogs attacking horses have led to horses being put down. Even a dog barking is enough to spook a horse. Dogs need to be socialised around horses and need to be trained to heel and come on command. We know that the large majority of dog owners do not have this level of control. All dog owners who cannot control their dogs should keep them on a lead around horses. It would make sense for the times the horses are out to have signs up on the gates - and all dogs to be on a lead in certain areas. I have never seen a sign or known when to expect horses in the park. It's the most sensible way forward - the park should be for everyone. And everyone should be safe. I'm actually impressed the owner went to the stables to see if she could socialise her dog. That's the safest way to control a dog around horses.
  2. It's hardly the Green Party's fault that we have an energy crisis. They are not the leading party and are not able to enforce climate changes that they have long been lobbying for. It is the Tory government who have not initiated an increase in - eg wind farms, insulation programmes or reducing the reliance on fossil fuels. The Tory Government is self serving, not forward looking and driven by profits. It's hard to see who else to focus this on.
  3. I believe so yes. All train operators. Lots of info online if you google it
  4. that's really selfish of them. I would put loud music on at inappropriate times and that should prompt a healthy enlightenment on their behalf which would ideally lead to healthy discussions and a bit of improvement in their behaviour.
  5. Great, so the additional funds the council have from the traffic fines will contribute to the building of the school. That?s brilliant.
  6. What is did to her is unimaginable. He tricked her first of all and handcuffed her. She had no chance to defend herself at all. The impact statements of her family are heartbreaking. Of course men matter, but it?s a different story for women. Sarah was just walking home.
  7. it's people buying more than they need.
  8. Do TFL own the station? I didn?t realise they were holding up the improvements
  9. thanks - sounds really interesting
  10. You can blame the lack of police, lack of deterrent sentencing, reasons criminals commit crime or you can do something to protect yourself, as the very controversial but also correct Dimelda says. You can make yourself less of a target or more of a target depending on how you carry your valuables and your level of awareness of what?s going on around you. It?s not rocket science.
  11. My neighbour has converted a pallet as security. Basically, he?s built ramps and drives the wheels onto them. The pallet fills the space between the road and bottom of the car so no room for the thieves to get in

  13. Schools have had their money cut, it?s no surprise they are running a deficit.
  14. we won't be going back to the pre-pandemic work pattern so that's largely a mute point. The point is the impact on the local area of increased traffic and pollution, which is already unacceptable.
  15. it's not service driven, it's profit driven. if you applied your argument to cafes, you would say that Gail's are opening a cafe in the Brickhouse site because there are not enough cakes in ED. Really, the MO is to move to an area where people like cake and try and get a slice of the action.
  16. that's the whole point - we don't want more traffic and we don't need additional nursery places - which is clear from the unfilled positions in the multiple nurseries in the area. To fill it would mean people travelling in, which would increase traffic, which we don't want. Basically, we don't need the nursery and we don't want the consequences of that increase in traffic. Quite basic.
  17. I thought most of our elderly are finding care through their savings. Everyone I know in a care home is
  18. You can?t because of the glue and bindings but you can if you cut the pages out. There is info on this link that might give you some ideas https://recycling.co.uk/recycling-books/
  19. we don't bother driving, much easier to get the train/ bus/ walk/ uber.
  20. Thanks Ian, I can?t get info (GDPR). I?ll have to arrange to have a chat with them
  21. Unpimped? a pasty, literally ?ready? doesn?t even need heating up. Not often that lazy though just sometimes. The No Beef vegan ones are actually better than some of the meat ones, so they are the preference. Pimped would have to be a pizza with variety of toppings.
  22. Thanks Ian, it?s is related to trusts but I don?t understand where they can be used to establish liability for damage and potential lease forfeiture. I thought they were based on different laws.
