  1. yes - I think it's the opening for much more restriction. There is a difference between a peaceful protest and a riot. Our right of protest should not be reduced on the back of the other. There is a fine balance and one group can change the dynamics, just as the police can. It doesn't mean that all protests should be covered, just because one person may find them annoying.
  2. bike theft has always been an issue. it's sensible to expect it. I'd add it to your household insurance. If you have a lockable garage, the premiums shouldn't go up massively. Motorbikes for example are chopped up so quickly and sold as parts that the police don't even look for them.
  3. That's a lot. Are the signs so poor that drivers have made an understandable error, or just drive regardless? Surely if it's the former, at that scale of penalties, there is good reason to challenge them
  4. yes - they have free reign to do what they want, with very little accountability. It's very worrying. I hope that we at least get a non Tory mayor, to prevent a full dictatorship
  5. maybe ask if anyone has a mouse spare
  6. morning DF I googled Missing Mouse Pointer and found this https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-hardware/how-to-fix-cursor-disappeared-in-windows-10/342eb3df-c60f-44c1-b038-f14bf5c15e19#:~:text=Depending%20on%20your%20keyboard%20and,%2B%20F9%2F%20Fn%20%2B%20F11. It may be useful, I don't know what system you have, but there is lots of infor online. someone may be able to provide tailored support to you - I hope you get this fixed. Jules
  7. The Bill has passed which takes away right to protest and makes it illegal. Where is the outrage ? It?s monumental and bodes of bad things to come. These rights were not granted freely but taken away and no one seems to notice.
  8. she's now trying to push through a bill banning any protest unless it is government approved. "Peaceful protests and marches could become a thing of the past under a new policing bill put forward by the Government, as being too noisy or causing too much ?annoyance? would be grounds to shut them down . The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill, to be debated in Parliament today (Monday) and tomorrow, has been condemned as ?draconian? by experts across the political spectrum. It will effectively hand powers to police ? and Home Secretary Priti Patel ? to shut down protests at will. ?This will be the biggest widening of police powers to impose restrictions on public protest that we?ve seen in our lifetimes,? Chris Daw QC, a leading barrister and author"
  9. I hope he fins a home - he's absolutely gorgeous. If I didn't have two cats and a dog, I would but we are delicately balanced already and a male cat would be too much.. There are so many people asking for kittens puppies - even on here, that you would hope that their search would extend to accommodate a grown pet. They don't stay little for long, anyway
  10. they could possibly put a large sign up on the gates I suppose it's logical that you would have to register, otherwise it would be used by everyone for general parking. I would be inclined to contact them and explain your situation and see if they'll let you off.
  11. Shared on local Facebook group. We will definitely be lighting a candle for Sarah and in support of all people suffering or afraid.
  12. The press are consistently awful and they are dreadful comments. I remember when NoW hacked Millie Dowler?s phone. Being offensive is quite normal, sadly as they have a massive impact
  13. Megan was welcomed into the royal family and welcomed by the public. The Queen wouldn't have approved the wedding if she was racist. Megan and Harry since removed themselves from the royal family, set up a brand to take advantage of that (given no titles anymore) and have tried with varying levels of success to make a living based on that. Let's face it, Megan went to mainstream US tv with her friend Oprah (don't forget she was special guest at the wedding) and did a very obviously staged interview with mock shock (let's not pretend Oprah hadn't already known what was going to be said. This was milked for all it could be, with the sole aim of increasing their own publicity. No one is denying that Megan has experienced racist comments - no one else was there - and equally no one is confirming she has. It was a one sided speech. The point on here is that any criticism of Megan is deemed to be racist or directed at her because of her colour. It really isn't. I think she's thrown a cheap and ugly trick in order to promote herself. Many gulilble people will believe this to be spontaneous and not planned at all...... Oprah knows how to play this game very well.
  14. I've learnt how to make kombucha, which is now fermenting away nicely :-)
  15. The thing that makes me think this is wrong is that you wouldn?t have a go at and upset your Nan when your Granddad has just had a heart operation. Their motivation is not what it seems at face value
  16. We use them and it?s great
  17. That is shocking. I hope she?s safe.
  18. Clearly
  19. It's more about the way of her complaint. If she chooses to go on mainstream TV and talk to Oprah, it's pretty obvious she has goals in mind
  20. This is about much more than someone's comments to Megan in the Palace. I feel sorry for Harry. Having both his mother and wife sensationalised in the media (either by standing or by choice)
  21. Oprah?s a bit like Jeremy Kyle for grown ups.
  22. Ouch
  23. Megan?s taken full advantage of a team planning and prepping this. It?s all about building a brand.... and public empathy is incredibly valuable
  24. We need a Non Tory Mayor. God forbid the Tories have a monopoly on London
  25. Wow, you were lucky! Good spot!
