  1. Thanks for that Moos.(?) Generally what Chuff said, but this thread is based on conjecture from something someone observed. We don't know the circumstances. Perhaps parents at home part of week and work weekends, or, shock horror it was their anniversary and they took a much deserved afternoon off. (Stares into distance with longing)
  2. *having knocked back a third rum and pineapple (hmmm) rummages in army issue napsack and pulls out....* *e-book!!* *now where are "War and Peace" and "The Brothers Karamazov"?* *Pass that bottle of Vodka, i'll be a while.
  3. Oh, and not forgetting MrBen!
  4. Thanks for that, A.Stout. Hope you found buddies later. Were you at the Duke earlier? We got food, lots of it and very tasty. The Duke looked after us well. Nice night. Good to meet with Geo, Pierre and Weegee and all the regular faces.
  5. Oh, Belle, you don't fall for the charm of the Blurbage, do you? Crazy girl. Hate it when that happens. You know "..the new (insert favourite author's name)..." only to find they are a pale imitation when you've already bought the book. Hook, line and sinker. Doh!. Don't worry - you're in good company; I do it too. I've just read Kurt Vonnegat's latest biography/commentry - short and odd but in an insightful way. Not so much a book as a collections of musings about getting old, living in Bush's America and creativity.
  6. Here's a nice, chilled out bit of Preston School of Industry-tunage
  7. I'm glad the rain came. For now we can bask in the glory of having thrashed the 2nd best team in the whole wide world. If we'd won we would have only beaten the 3rd best team.
  8. *Hmmmm... turkish delight dipped in vodka* *sounds like cocktail from new-fangled bar* *anything is possilble post-glasnost* *pass me a glass, Moos* *Do I like your hat? Absolut-ly!*

    Save Ed

I might have needed saving in previous times but I am past my sell-by date in that respect now. Unless Jesus thinks differently.
  10. Good to hear of such an act. Cheers all round to those who helped out.
  11. Loads of Police, including armed ones on DKH this evening around 5pm. Can the forum grapevine find out what g'wan.
  12. Remeber this coming on the radio when I was younger and being transfixed about how weird it was.
  13. Adventure Bar for next EDF drinks then?
  14. Honaloochie, Baby - if Madness was allowed in Our House, I might just mess my Baggy Trousers. Could do worse than see the Rembrandts play the Dulwich Picture Gallery, though.
  15. It would be in poor taste to suggest them, full stop. But Badly Drawn Boy can play any of the local chip shops
  16. One Hundred and Eighty! How do you know all these obscure facts d_c? Top notch education in the 'burbs?
  17. 5-0 by the end of today will propel England into No 2 one-day team in the rankings. After, guess who.
  18. Man City 10th - like to hedge my bets. Keegan is tapped. Shame that so many Geordies think him the Messiah. More likely he's just a very naughty boy.
  19. ...and for the alternative set: Marmalade make a special Guest appearance. The Streets could play.....all over the place! Mel B would strut her stuff at Willis B before sauntering off to do the second half of her set at Stella B.
  20. *enters frostily and slowly, without rushin'* *pads arounf in fleecy boots and Cossack hat* *mumbles something about pipping those pesky Brits to third place in Olympic medal table* *Will share a sly vodka with other in the spirit of entente*
  21. You speak like a woman of experience in these matters, COz. But a million ways - that's going some.
  22. The Jam and Cream headlining at the Dulwich Picture Gallery Cafe
  23. "I do" 86 times!
  24. But then, to be fair, she is a jounalist looking for an angle on her opinion, so she picks evidence that supports it. She's not a social historian looking for the full picture. Her drift is to counter those harking back to the good old days.
  25. If East Dulwich was a band, we'll be kept up all night with band practice. I'm upping sticks and moving to Norfolk.
