  1. how about "You're My Favourite Waste of Time" by Owen Paul
  2. This is for Dulwich Park this Sunday, the 10th. The forecast on BBC weather says its sunny intervals. Any suggestions where we should meet?
  3. candj my comment was not aimed at you in the slightest - it was my own term couched after reading the thread. I just felt that I sounded like someone whose mum lived a few doors down and had never been further than the next village. ;-)
  4. Is it on PS2 or X-Box?
  5. Careful guys, you could do yourself a Wii'njury
  6. SA 103-1 to 194 all out. Shows we have been teaching them a thing or two.
  7. 'twas born of a citizen of the district known as East Dulwich and thus in a way you are right Moos, strictly speaking it was Citizen Eee Dee. but I guess with it also being a play on "citizened" meaning I know not what, Sean is righter(?). On the other hand it could be just that I thought I'd moved to an area called Edward. Mr Ed More crucially, I was flicking through my younger brothers CD collection sometime ago and there amid the unpromising Robbie and Elton was "I'm a Bird Now". Wow. Have a listen to this. Antony and the Johnsons
  8. Don't you go poking around in my record collection jjf dear heart- you might get a shock amongst the 45s and 33s. "Dogs" can come on after "Sex and the City". Well they usually follow the bitches. Pass the port.
  9. At times, dear mightyroar, yes the summer holidays can, at times, seem like squabble city central. Ice lollies before breakfast? Don't you know that the answer is "no". The answer is always "no". Parenthood is one long soliloquy of "no"s. More to the point, though, are you thinking of heading to Dulwich Park for the Forum Picnic on Sunday? Not heard from you on that thread and it would be nice to meet some other forum parents.
  10. Freddie Ljungberg to leave hammers and possibly retire from football at the age of 31. Jesus, he made me feel tired with all that scurrying around he did at the Arsenal but now I simply feel old.
  11. Tillie, since when has eye rhymed with pate?
  12. Thanks for the thumbs up, guys - to change the mood a little try this. Always loved it. Aretha Franklin - Mockingbird Dearest Sean, less of the Mr Ed. People might think I'm a horse!
  13. a steep learning curve is your fate
  14. Something downbeat for the hell of it Sparklehorse - Piano Fire featuring PJ Harvey, no less
  15. Goody, never seen Princess Bride before. Lines up "Ten Things..." "Music and Lyrics" and "Coyote Ugly" a girly film for lads if ever. Darling Moos, what colour is that nail varnish? It's gorgeous. And Camp? didn't you know my middle name is David?
  16. and to get too many syllables in one line of a limerick is your fate... (Steve T, thank your lucky stars that neither Tillie or Asset are on Limerick watch. They'd be real trouble.)
  17. Oh god, am I ever coming over as the low horizon, negative ambition, little-englander mucker. Far from it I hope. It's just that I've always been suspicious of that "travel broadens the mind" sentiment. I think that "culture" is somehing that is that runs deep and exists in relative terms in the sense that it is not very useful to rate the relative merits of different cultures. So why go and "experience" another culture unless you have got to the unlikely position of having exhausted your own, or that you are a linguist who is making a positive contribution to entente cordial, or of course you have family on two different continents so, out of a sense of fairness, and airmiles, set up home on a third.
  18. Oooo! girls night in! Hope no-one minds an interloper in the "family", JJF. Malteser rush. yummy! Already got a top up of Krug in my pint glass. Jury's out on JR, but RG does have that certain smile.
  19. Will certainly be there, barring radical lifestyle makeover.

    Olympics

Like Christmas, the whole thing is a farce and a sham, ie "fairy story in order to have a celebration" and "best athletes compete for our entertainment". Like everything else its not what you do, it's how you do it that counts. Enjoy! The Bejing Olympic stadium looks bl**dy amazing though.
  21. Jesus, am I ever stuck in the past! But, saw the haunting moon the other night and just thaought of this: Echo and the Bunnymen -
  22. Ah, Mattindulwich18, don't you just have to love 'im. Poor boy don't understand that if he gets home by 8pm and has a hot cup of cocoa then he'll be just fine and dandy. Dulwich will be great again. Hasn't he twigged that staying in is the new going out. He can ponder whether that new lampshade really suits the wallpaper and then get down to the vital forum-like business of worrying if there should be two question marks in his original post.
  23. Bigmouth Strikes Again - the Smiths
  24. Nearly 5 - I'm readying my pint jug for some of that Krug, DM. Hope it's a Nebuchadnezzar. Chin chin!
  25. T = Tiddlewinks S = Smart Alec
