  5. Brendan, I am with child. well, i've got the kids for the weekend. I can't join you, alas, lest I get caught drunk in charge of minors.
  6. I'm reading a book. Feel I have to announce it like that as it is a big event for me these days - not that I'm illiterate or nowt, Guv, just that I'm not in the practise of such things since the sproglets came along. Anyway, it's bit of a blur.....I mean, it's Bit Of A Blur, by Alex James.
  7. Do the lion's share in our kitchen. I wont brag though. Bland, monotonous oh-so-predictable stuff from me and that is the extent of my culinary aspiration. Making out in the kitchen, on the other hand, is nice from time to time, if that's what you're talking about.
  8. MadWorld74 in "living up to name" shocker. That is Mad as in Angry as Hellfire.

  12. Well done BN5! Does that make you a sort of MPhil - part way to becoming a Dr. Congrats. Well done too, MW74. Anyone running for charity deserves any plaudits they get.
  13. Wow, 176depressive - memorable first post. Spleen vented! Welcome to the forum. Happy posting.

  17. *hey KB, if its KK you have to aw8 her response* *pass a Corona by the way - its rude to keep a thirsty man in limbo* *And after the day I've had!* *Sorry if I perspired on anyone on the way in.*
  18. 10th is fine for me if that is the concensus.
  19. 3rd for me.
  20. just located the two books i was thinking about regarding the issues brought up here. One is "What are Children For?" by Laurie and Matthew Taylor which is a comparison between the different parenting skills of a father and a son and the associated questions thus brought up. Intriguing reading. The other is "A Life's Work" by Rachel Cusk. That's a pretty tough analysis of what it means to become a mother, a sombre book since Cusk seems to have gone through some sort of Post-natal depression, although when I read it - some time before having my kids, I found it strangely uplifting. I found a realistic and honest but witty and upbeat guide having kids was Kath Cooke's "Rough Guide to Parenting". Basically seemed to 'tell it it as it is' which boils down to bloody hard work but fulfilling if you once in a while get a quiet moment in which to down copious amounts of wine.
  21. But with the Co-op buy out of Somerfield seemingly cemented today, the suggestion is that some of the branches might be sold on to, among others, Waitrose. So LL might be getting a Co-op, Morrisons or Waitrose.
  22. rather than world-weary
  23. Its been said there are too many trees...
