  1. year 8 is not critical-you could put her name down everywhere and home school till a place comes up. youc ould try looking further afield at other local authorities- some people sent their children to schools in wandsworth/ wetmisnter/ greenwich.
  2. because you have a 66 yr lease-as I said your freehodlers may be poorly informed- so maybe you can keep quiet?
  3. of course they will ask for money for an extension - about 10% of the value of the long lease.
  4. the vendor must have owned the flat for 2 years for you to qualify to extend your lease- you have no automatic right to buy a share of the freehold. I am assuming you have less than 80 years left? The freeholders may well ask for money to buy a share of the freehold-depends how amateur they are/ well advised. If there is less that 83 years left I would get the leaseholders to serve the notice- unless the freeholders are willing to enter into a voluntary agreement to let you extend- but it may be at a higher price.Be careful to check how the freehold is made up - some of them are badly done- run by people who have not got a clue what they are responsible for. Does the person you are buying from have a share of the freehold? you say everyone does but maybe not?
  5. FYI I did not record it. But I wondered about it!
  6. washing dry in an hour- I love it.
  7. i was surprised it was mouth/ throat cancer, he said he could not appreciate fine wines anymore. But beer was good ;-)
  8. did anyone hear Danny on desert island discs? what did you think?
  9. try to do other things than baby things - keep up with arts/ news/ sports so that when you go out with work people you dont talk about being a mum all the time. they hate it, they really do.
  10. my employers have broken the law! will now have to spend lots of money to prove it.
  11. all of hte above, but hte sooner the better.
  12. pickle you indeed lucky, my mum had ovarian cancer too- knew there was something wrong-ignored it to begin -then dr couold not find it- dead 3 months later.
  13. my mum refused chemo- she did not want all her hair to fall out- she was 70 and had it everywhere- they offered it as a last chance but she just said no. i think its very personal. but the wheat grass stuff etc is clutching at straws. waste of money.trouble is the balance between "not wanting to be any trouble " v wanting them to be around ( with all the psychologiacl side effects thrown in). is she happy with her life? is she a fighter?
  14. i did have a quick look in evans today but realise you need to have a bike to sit on to get a feel for it- I have ben advised to see lincoln at brixton cycles, but not sure if thats 'cos he a handsome fella or he is good at saddles! the brooks saddle looks like the equivalent of leather hiking boots- lots of wearing in!.
  15. i think kensal green way might be the last outpost- probably better to loookat properties with their own parkingif it is very important to you. you know we will eventually all have to pay to park on the roads.
  16. essential on a cornish pasty and in a bacon sandwich.
  17. i think your right = partner is a cycle coach so size is sorted, but men dont really get women's anatomy- its all well and good him saying get it from wiggle but I think I have to try some out first- I always find cycle shops staffed by either ignorant but well meaning or techy type men and feel embarrassed to ask about womens saddles- I see a Selle Italia is quite pricey- but what price comfort- any other recommendations?
  18. all getting a bit nasty now- anyone recommend a good employment lawyer? apparently one based in town would be better. Thanks
  19. thanks Laddymuck- but the main issue is the ladies saddle- i have a fair amount of natural padding anyway- but I have always found it difficult to sit on a saddle for more than 45 mins. More of a ladies question really.gel? vents/ brands? any recommendations? Decathlon do not have experienced women cyclists on hand- Thanks
  20. managed to have my bicycle pinched-ggrr- but will borrow my sons for a while-can anyone recommned a particular ladies saddle? I think its fair to say I have a fair amount of matural padding anyway, butI need to cycle 45 miles one day in Septemebr, and need to be able to function the next day. My previous saddle was a huge squashy gel one, but I had been told that was doing me no favours.
  21. can we stop this thread now? i don't think it is helping anyone. Especially for those that attend the school and have been happy there until now.
  22. at 4 weeks you are better off with a sling if possible.
  23. lets hope this scares all the other schools that have similar practices into cleaning up their act.
  24. we went last year- last minute with 2 teenagers- it was really good for a week, but could not manage 2 weeks.there was enough free stuff to keep you going, although the free "introduction to sailing etc" was not very inspiring- the additional lessons you pay for were good. The meals are so generous that a sandwich is all you need at lunchtime.
  25. i only saw the last 10 mins, but agian I thought aren't we lucky.
