Obviously I couldn't say for sure but there are a lot of rumours going around about this that are unsubstantiated. The Met Police have not received any reports of this happening. The accounts on the internet are based on "a friend of a friend" and "I heard that someone...." type scenarios. Of course be cautious but also keep in mind there are huge amounts of anxiety driven rumours being shared about all sorts of things right now. Unless Met Police or other credible source confirms otherwise......

I'm really enjoying cycling at the moment, much quieter and the sun is wonderful. Might be a nice time to try it out in London. Do be careful though because people aren't necessarily expecting a bicycle coming at the moment so pedestrians stepping out and wandering all over the place! Same for cars whizzing along. I agree with you Sally Eva about the bad temper thing- this forum is rammed full of finger pointing, judging and blaming!

Shops staying open in the lockdown when they shouldn't.

"Disgusted" to see your post Freddo -
They, they, they, they! So much finger pointing As far as I'm concerned, if you have bought one extra item as a result of this Corona situation then you are part of the problem. Everyone doing the same think easily interrupts the food chain. We have all done that so while most of us posting here don't agree with stockpiling and think bulk buying should stop, can we also exercise a little compassion towards others (and ourselves) and acknowledge that everyone is responding to fear right now
-
I don't agree with stockpiling at the expense of others, of course not. What I find more interesting though is our propensity to point fingers and blame others for shopping.....when we are in the shops shopping ourselves! Everyone feels they have a justified reason to shop. Those shelves may well be empty because we are all shopping for our elderly relatives, friends and neighbours in addition to our own. It is also the case that people are working from home and getting through more food. Most of us have never been through any hardship or restriction so having less choice available to us feels like a disaster. The hysteria on so many levels is boring and unhelpful. gromit3:16 stop ramping it up!

I'm giving you a hand clap and appreciating nod from afar fishbiscuits. So rare on internet forums do people give a gracious and gentle acknowledgement when there has been a misunderstanding and misinterpretation. Nice work, more of this please folks! fishbiscuits Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > KidKruger Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > What?s with all your ?do him over? Aggressive man - Peckham rye park
binkylilyput replied to contented sow's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Both are correct. A person can be sectioned under the MHA with or without police involvement. If a person is in public and/ or behaving in a manner that suggests mental health difficulties and risks the police will be involved in order to securely take the person to a designated 136 assessment suite where they can be assessed by mental health professionals. I hope he has now been found -

Shivering swan1 this man is clearly a risk to others and all are in agreement that the police should be involved but your language is offensive, as is questioning why he hasn't been assaulted -

He sounds unwell 999 should be called to prevent someone from getting harmed and to get him help -
Great you got some important stuff back Uncomfortable as this may be, could it not have been someone using the nursery? I would have thought a nursery would have CCTV?

So sorry this happened to your child Jules-and-Boo. I completely disagree with any suggestion that posting on here isn't a good idea. Who knows who reads this. Who knows who might have seen something. It might be helpful for someone if this happens again or maybe it has already happened to someone else previously. Reporting to the police should be done but probably useless- unless this person repeats this behaviour. Your poor child. I'm quite sure your husband would like to talk with the individual and I hope he gets chance. -
Dodgy church collecting in M&S
binkylilyput replied to FallingDownMoment's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I agree will all of the above.......but please remember that those people who are ?on the ground? doing the collections/ door knocking etc are not really the ones at fault. They have unfortunately been hooked into the organisation and are unaware of dodgy dealings and heavily under the influence of indoctrination. Just saying......before they are tackled harshly. It is M&S who should be challenged here -

Ethical car wash recommendations

People who are rudely saying "do it yourself"....get a grip. We all pay for other people to do services for us and also do jobs that provide services for other people. That's what makes the world go round. Ever bought a sandwich rather than make one yourself? Besides, some people may have physical reasons why washing their car could be difficult or impossible. And even if they don't, they want someone to do a perfectly normal job for them. Are you seriously having a go?! -
Thank you for sharing. I have followed this family?s story for far too long and the facts are unbelievable. I visited Richard and his supporters while on hunger strike, camped outside the Iranian embassy- it was very moving. When I asked what the public could do, a big suggestion was to contact local MPs requesting that they get on board. This could happen to any one of us........please sign the petition, contact local MPs and keep Nazanin at the forefront of public and political awareness.

Dog Fouler on Lordship Lane - noon 23/10/19
binkylilyput replied to KidKruger's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We regularly see cctv pics posted of apparently dodgy people coming to people?s front doors. KK actually saw this person leave the poo with his owns eyes. Obviously a pity he didn?t manage to get the actual act but that would be impossible. Tough for the lady to to have this made public. Anyone would feel ashamed by this. So next time, pick up the poo. Shame avoided. Plus the longer this thread goes on, the more potential poo leavers might see it and think twice about it. -
