  1. Foggy - sorry about your penalty charge. I think Southwark (and Lambeth) signage is terrible, especially if you're new to the area. Then again, I always enjoy driving down the bus lane coming down from Peckham Rye towards the ED leisure centre towards Goose Green on a Sunday.

    Why?!?!?!?!?!?

If you're new to the forum, maybe people are not sure and accidents do happen.
  10. My 14 year old also wanted a watch as a present last Christmas. She's had a couple over the years but of course their tastes change when they hit teenage years. On her wishlist was a watch from Casio (burgandy digital face and silver type strap ?28 on the ASOS website). Something I wouldn't have thought she would like but daughter has worn it every day since Christmas. Had to have the strap readjusted. I would also go with a local shop with lots of selection so it can be taken back if not approved of!
  11. Miss you - Rolling Stones

  13. Very said to hear of this woman's death. Reading through the posts and then reading the last one. I can read the Sun in less than 5 minutes but the Mail takes a lot longer. Does that make me 'better'? Edited to say I feel sorry for your mother-in-law!
  14. TheClockHouse - this all sounds great but you've got to think about whether you will be able to run everything single-handed. Who provides the toys, who sets up every week, who buys the tea/coffee/milk/sugar/cakes etc. etc.

  16. What becomes of the broken hearted - Jimmy Ruffin
  17. Of course being the only non-walker in her nursery room would cause concern to the nursery workers. They have probably tried to encourage her, especially as you say she is standing alone without taking steps. Could she be a bottom-shuffler? I've seen so many stand unaided but revert to being bottom shufflers just because that's the way they get around a lot quicker and also because they've not been encouraged to stand and walk. Either way if you're happy to have your daughter not up and walking then let the nursery know!
  18. Once you've got the black spots and mould there's nothing you can do really but live with it. Bleach doesn't always work but try a bit of soaked in Fairy Liquid.
  19. What a shame that poor Cinderella has become a subject of concern when there's so much more going on in the world. My children had Cinderella read to them with no worries.
  20. Didn't you ask them before your son enrolled? As cora said they don't have to be because of their short hours. If they do have to be they should have a certificate on display at the setting (this is a requirement of Ofsted).
  21. Good for you mikki - I'm also a Londoner born and bred and only now, later on in life, I realise there is so much more happening. I began chatting to a woman at the bus stop this morning who had a toddler in pushchair. Simple pleasantries but she looked pleased when my bus came along!
  22. That site looks too complicated to me but I'm sure some people will understand it. About 18 months ago my teenage daughter showed me how to upload a photo (taken from my camera) onto the forum. It's now second nature to me, even though I know nothing about technology, other than being able to touch-type and like handymaneastdulwich, I open up the photo in paint, but resize it to 10%. Then there are a few more steps (like naming the photo) but it works for me.
