  1. I skimmed through the first 5 pages but am at a loss as to who has actually trotted away on their high horse?
  2. Good game that last night although at one stage it looked like it was going to be something like 4-1 to either team such were the momentum shifts! I don't see Milan winning by 2 goals at OT - even if they go 3-0 up they'd eventually be overrun by Premiership energy. Great players but they were out on their feet after an hour so same again in Manchester.

Day passes > available ?2.00. I use www.livefooty.doctor-serv.com/ - Sopcast always seems to be the most reliable (usually choice #1)
  4. Last great Milan team in my opinion was the 2005 vintage.

The original foul was made with over a minute remaining but after some clock management by the Scots the penalty was kicked over the posts with only 14 seconds remaining. When the Ref awarded the penalty the Welsh captain asked how much time was left and was told 40 seconds. Wales kicked the penalty with the belief the game would be re-started. Clock shots from the iplayer re-run. The Foul The Penalty Kick
  6. CL tomorrow night, be interesting to see how the Milan old boys shape up against the young guns of United. Putting aside reputations I think it will still be a tight affair. Rooney is obviously the star man but could it be a night when Beckham rolls back the years and cons the Ref with a little dive outside box and scores winning free kick... now that be nice! Not that I condone tricksters but seeing United having to swallow their own medicine would be very satisfying.
  7. I saw the slow-mo on telly yesterday after the England match and it had the Scotsman flicking his boot out to bring down Byrne.
  8. Great comeback Wales beating Scotland although good to see ex-England boss Andy Robinson take it on the chin like the true English Rugby gentleman we all know and love. As for the Irish in Paris what disgraceful behaviour, what the French said pre-game was out of order but what Flannery did was an outrage. Going back to the Welsh game I could not believe Wales went for the penalty equalizer on the stroke of time - it struck me as a negative attitude rather than go for the try 10 yards from home against 13 Scots. Wales were then let off the hook with 3 strokes of luck leading to that glorious winner: 1) Blair did not kick ball out at re-start, 2) Stephen Jones high risk cross field kick (when overlap galore was on his right) bounced back in field, 3) the forward pass from Byrne to Halfpenny was not spotted. A weekend of poor Rugby sportsmanship, from a Scotsman tripping up a Welshman, an Irishman trying to cut a Frenchman in half.. and the worst of all the English captain waving an imaginary yellow card for an Italian to be sin-binned. Even Didier Drogba would have been shaking his head at that lot ;-)
  9. Looking forward to that Ireland v France game once Wales have snuffed out Scotland - sounds like a real grudge match in Paris. Have to say though I hope that both games are won by playing to the spirit of the rules rather than gamesmanship.
  10. This is my XI GK: Anyone with a pair of gloves RB: G.Johnson CH: Rio CH: Terry LB: A.Cole RM: Lennon CM: Gerrard CM: Joe Cole LM: Young CF: Defoe CF: Rooney Subs: Beckham, Lampard, Micah Richards BTW, Wes Brown will only be going to WC if it's to clean boots ;-) Ultimately if England are to win World Cup (rather than maybe reach semi final) they need to sacrifice a little physical presence for natural skill and that is why I'd select Joe Cole in the heart of midfield as for all the Hollywood passes offered by Lampard, Carrick, Beckham and Barry it will not be enough to fox the world's elite countries.
  11. Mick, 3 Celtic first team players recently joined M'Boro - what does that say? ;-)
  12. The line I went with in building up a syndicate was it's a 76 million to one chance.. but it's a chance Anyway from buying 83 tickets won ?16.30 (yes that is a decimal not a typo :( )
  13. Based on some of the challenges made by Everton players last Saturday I think it is just the School of Science's way of playing football to try and win games. Not as bad as the infamous Dogs of War under Joe Royle in mid-nineties but nevertheless a Club very bitter about the relative success of other Clubs that were also in the Big 5 (i.e. Arsenal, Spurs, United, Liverpool).

    CV's

No one pays to have their CV done. Just remember people read from top to bottom and stop the instant it becomes irrelevant (or boring) for the role you are applying. I think generally I'd go for following formula 1) Name at top. 2) 50 word profile. 3) Work history. 4) Personal details.
  15. I take the poor performances as part of the course Jah - but our 2nd half display was well above our usual standard. Arsenal call 60K attendance every game but I think that is based on tickets/seasons sold than turnstile clicks.
  16. What is a Banker?
  17. Well the first half was a shocking spectacle but the second was quite open. I think it was quite balanced. Both teams had chances. Ngog may be derided for his Brum dive but last night when clean through he leapt out of the way when the Dutch defender tried to go across the back of him inside box. Lot of empty seats at Emirates from what I saw on telly. If they can't fill it with Wenger's football in a big match what chance when they say have another Bruce Rioch or George Graham in charge?
  18. It was only Nani that got sent off SP - unless he is now one of your better players? I saw the Nani tackle and for me I don't think it was a Red card. It may say in the rule book he had to go but if the Ref followed rule book then how the hell does Paul Scholes ever last an hour on the pitch??? We can argue about Fabregas not being in the box (although assuming he was 10 yards back from free kick he most certainly was in area so I'd say if Ref gives it as a handball then by default he will give a pen as otherwise he has failed in putting back the wall 10 yards.
  19. kpc Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Difference is that cost Blues two points, this may > have cost you one point. Liverpool were hammering on the door before that penalty and imo it was only a matter of time before an equalizer... I know it's all ifs and buts, but had the equalizer been delayed much longer the momentum might have been too strong for Rafa to call a halt and order Reds to keep it tight and consequently not put numbers forward to grab a winner. Now if Ngog had made that dive in the final minute I'd say yes Brum were robbed but with 20 mins remaining you may have been robbed of 2 points.
  20. Difference is Brum that was the last action of the match - as opposed to shall we say a full 20 minutes... ;-)
  21. Liverpool robbed by that cheating toe rag Fabregas - clear penalty. But what do you expect that muppet Howard Webb was Ref.
  22. West Ham have plenty of work to do for survival but they're in with as good a shout as half a dozen others so why damage player morale with talk of wage cuts.
  23. Looks like to me David Sullivan is trying to coin it in by asking all staff and players to take a pay cut... and get the media to do his dirty work. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/west_ham_utd/8505540.stm
  24. Ah I think we've been down this path before but as for me I like Rugby (not as much as football mind) because of the running rugby rather than the neanderthal back/neck breaking, eye gouging confrontations which seem so acceptable to some but mind numbing to others.
  25. Here is a good old fashioned rant - http://roversreturn.net/2010/01/23/qpr-fans-rant/ It would be interesting to see how Guardiola would fair in the Premiership - as I am not convinced any PL team has the players to carry off the Barcelona blueprint successfully (i.e. win title). There is no doubt Gaurdiola got Barcelona to knuckle down again after the Deco / Rondaldinho night clubbing years but I just think how they struggled to break down Chelsea last season even with likes of Messi, Iniesta, Henry, Eto'o and Xavi.
