Record as Rangers Manager 2001?2006 Scottish Premier League winners (2): 2002?03, 2004?05 Scottish Cup winners (2): 2002, 2003 Scottish League Cup winners (3): 2002, 2003, 2005 Martin O'Neil SPL Championship (3) ? 2000/01, 2001/02, 2003/04 Scottish Cup (3) ? 2001, 2004, 2005 Scottish League Cup (1) ? 2000/01 I make that a double and a treble for McCleish versus one double for Martin O'Neil. I quite like McCleish as unlike other ex-Fergie players he seems a genuine good guy.
  2. I thought McLeish had the upperhand in Glasgow - didn't he win a few doubles and also reach CL QF?
  3. Mick - the feeble minded will pick on whatever they can get away with
  4. The WRU have called an Extraodinary AGM to strip Thomas of his 100 Welsh caps after discovering Thomas is a distant cousin of Lawrence Dallaglio.
  5. West Ham certainly looked good from what I saw and should have no worries about relegation if they can sustain that level of football but I still thought Chelsea finished the stronger team once they'd equalized. Mike Dean tried to level up the wrong penalty by making Lampard retake the pen 3 times but come on would he have done a retake if Lampard had missed?
  6. Hmmm so you've asked politely and they've basically said fcuk off... Wouldn't it be a shame if you bought a box of kippers which mysteriously found their way under your floorboards in various parts of your flat before you went to the pain of paying for proper insolation to cut out the stench travelling in your direction... ;-) But personally I'd be looking to move pronto!
  7. Mick McCarthy being made to look a fool as Fulham race into 3-0 lead against Mancs with brilliant Duff goal
  8. Been down this road before with Souness, Evans and Houllier...
  9. Europa League last 32, on paper at least, looks pretty tasty (as I trade in my Rioja for a Hamburger). How the mighty have fallen hey, but it is packed with the old school!
  10. Probably because Fergie had a chin wag with McCarthy beforehand to ascertain his intentions for the evening...
  11. I think Wenger is dead right about the Wolves cheat storm - besides that Wolves have 5 days rest before they play Burnley on Sunday. Mick McCarthy... what did Roy Keane say about him!?
  12. Warnock's feud with Liverpool goes back to losing the League Cup semi final to Liverpool in 2003 when he claimed Stephane Henchoz gobbed in his face instead of shaking his hand at the final whistle. Reason Sheffield United went down was not because Liverpool played a weakened team at Fulham, or Man U played a weakened team against West Ham or because West Ham had done a dodgy deal over Tevez it was because they had a shite manager in charge. It's not rocket science.
  13. For the integrity of Football, Mick McCarthy must be charged with bringing the game into disrepute. After winning at WHL they travelled to Man U tonight "with 10 new faces from the team that beat Tottenham" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/8408337.stm
  14. He needs to pray Rafa keeps his job because the next Manager will axe him and Dirk Kuyt at the drop of a hat
  15. How did I forget Gladiator!

For a moment there I thought you were throwing into the hat the name of Gus Poyet!
  17. I'm afraid us Big Issue sellers can't afford the bus fare to Farringdon... but i'll be at the next forum drinks in January, when perhaps OutOfFocus will be there flashing his camera to capture the historic moment of a crispy ?20 note being handed over to this very, very honest winner... :)-D
  18. 3 of my favourites 1) Scarface final scene - Al Pacino 'say hello to my little friend' 2) In another Sergio Leone movie, Once upon a time in America, Robert De'Niro standing at a NY train station reflecting on life as he flashes from a young man into an old man to the tune of Yesterday. 3) Opening scene in Once Upon a Time in the West, when Charles Bronson steps off the train and plays his Harmonica before the shootout
  19. I want my ?20 please - so shall we say if no reply by end of Sunday it's mine...
  20. I don't think it was a gamble for Liverpool or United to have signed Owen this summer on a free transfer. Both Clubs needed reinforcing and although well past his sell by date I thought with his instinct in the box he would always be an asset from the bench when you need a goal (even if he is pretty useless these days in open play). As it was Rafa Benitez used his judgement.. and so he ended up signing for United.
  21. Didnt Redknapp leave West Ham in a similar financial mess?

Mathew you owe me a drink ;-) Yup you're right Daizie will make sure I'm there in January.. I had to make a hasty return home after eating all that cheese.. :X
  23. I wonder why!
