  1. Mascherano can thus complete his 4 match suspension in the FA Cup replay versus Reading.. Still I'd expect any Liverpool team to beat Spurs at Anfield - what is it 1 league win in 25 years? 2 or 3 league wins in 98 years?
  2. Scott Gibbs last gasp try to beat England in 1999 at Wembley

  4. Unfortunately Keef there are many countries that are more than a bit racist - but I guess it's not politically correct to bash those from outside the western world on that front

I disagree with that man management style being obsolete - I think now more than ever you need to rule with an iron fist rather than expect players to motivate themselves at the idea of a 50p win bonus.
  6. Perhaps the Yanks are in talks with Doritos... the Doritos Bowl... and maybe then we can play crisp, tasty football... but maybe that is a bit too cheesy for Rafa's taste.. boom boom
  7. Ferguson has been a great Manager for United no doubt about that but as a man I don't think you can class him in the same bracket as Sir Matt Busby.. and come to think of it is 2 European Cups at the so-called most powerful Club in the world that great a return in 23 years.. I may be wrong here but didn't that gentleman they called Bob Paisley win 3 European Cups in just 9 years (at a time when likes of Forest, Man City, Wolves, Man United, Arsenal, Palace, Spurs were all beating Liverpool to the million pound barrier signings).. SP you lost to Leeds United, now get over it.
  8. Really SP I've been very complimentaty about Manchester United in recent times, if it wasn't for that old United scarf I'd not have had anything to light the fire with on Christmas Day.... brrrrrr :))
  9. Hmmm interesting Mick I thought United deserved to win it last season just as much as they deserved to win in 1999 and 2008 against Bayern Munich and Chelsea
  10. Quite enjoyed the Old Firm clash - Celtic played some good football. Congrats to Leeds United but would they have dominated the game if United's best player Darren Fletcher had been available for selection (remember how United only lost to Barcelona in CL final because their dynamic midfield maestro was banned).
  11. Hmmm sounds like I need a new financial advisor...

Saw that this morning on telly - why Liverpool didn't meet the ?5m asking price (like Man U, Everton & Arsenal) and instead blew ?7m on Dossena is an absolute joke. Looks like Rangers are running away with the SPL - 10 men and they still won 7-1!
  13. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ...Spain win the World Cup Agreed > ...Cameron wins (just) Why? Are they in same group as England... I think when push comes to shove ppl will vote Labour Wales to win at HQ for the 4th consecutive 6 Nations season Andy Murrey to reach the Wimbledon final and then be soundly beaten Al Fayed to outbid M&S for a site on Lordship Lane
  14. Well if they do get wound up then Liverpool will be 3 points better off as nearly every other top team has beaten them and will be deducted those points. Of course Pompey will survive with some 11th hour rescue as usually seems to happen. As for the Villa Liverpool game last night I got more enjoyment ironing my shirts and that was dull! Hopefully that late winner will galvanize Liverpool into a charge up the table. On another note who was the real Footballer of the Year? i.e. 1st Jan 2009 to 31st Dec 2009. I had previously not been convinced but over the last 12 months my choice has been ripping up trees and is now a firm favourite on the Kop with his ability, stamina and mentality... no not Dirk Kuyt but actually someone who can play football, step forward Yossi Benayoun!
  15. Once a Manc always a Manc... just a different colour shirt

But given our next league game > is home to ManU, wouldn't you like to see us > extend our unbeaten run to twelve games? Yes... assuming of course McCleish isn't a soft arse like McCarthy and actually sends out his first team you could well get a result!
  17. Come on Jah wake up it was a cross post - it was directed at kpc! :)) Spurs are a threat to Liverpool (such have the mighty fallen) but realistically I think Man City are more likely (rather than Villa or Spurs) if anyone to make the top 4 ahead of the Reds. I think Brum should be targetting Villa so kpc I reckon you can cheer for the right team 2moro night! :)-D
  18. Puuurrrrlease! Sounds like you've already started with those delusions of grandeur! A 12 year old kid almost had his Christmas ruined... http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-fc/liverpool-fc-news/2009/12/28/12-year-old-reds-fan-shocked-by-man-utd-branded-goods-in-liverpool-fc-selection-box-100252-25478116/
  19. I might have misread what you have said but if the worst of it is 10 a.m. on a Sunday I'd let it go rather than risk creating a situation where they decide to deliberately crank it up at more irritating hours!
  20. Paper talk, paper talk
  21. Ooooh I would say Ryan Giggs for winning PFA Player of the Year and Sports Personality of the Year ..... Not
  22. Maybe he was a Fulham fan.... or perhaps Pompey or Chelsea

  24. Actually Mick, Rangers reached the last 16 in 2006 going out on away goals rule to Villareal I'm not an expert on Scottish football, and not even sure that McCleish was in charge at the time, but the best Scottish team I've seen in recent years for actual football played was the Rangers that had Arteta and Barry Ferguson in midfield. Think it was an Old Firm match and remember thinking Arteta is the kind of player who'd do well at Liverpool. Sorry Mick not really a fan of up 'em and at 'em kinda football.
