  1. Fine I think we all agree there are some routes - a la Barry Road and alike - that are not appropriate for the bendy bus but can we also agree that examples like London Bridge to Liverpool Street is actually an improvement having the BB over the DD? BTW, it's the commuters I feel sorry for when tourists jump aboard a double decker struggling to find the coins at the bottom of their bags...
  2. Ok what factual evidence is there in this case for both the defence and prosecution (apart from it being murder) maybe we can perform the appeals process whilst the Italians congratulate themselves.
  3. So Huggers what was the real story behind this murder?
  4. My predictions for World Cup groups. I think Group D is the most competitive. I'm going for South Africa to qualify from Group A - as having home support usually gives a huge advantage at a World Cup. Group A: South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France - FRANCE, SOUTH AFRICA Group B: Argentina, Nigeria, Korea Republic, Greece - ARGENTINA, NIGERIA Group C: England, USA, Algeria, Slovenia - ENGLAND, SLOVENIA Group D: Germany, Australia, Serbia, Ghana, - GERMANY, SERBIA Group E: Netherlands, Denmark, Japan, Cameroon - NETHERLANDS, CAMEROON Group F: Italy, Paraguay, New Zealand, Slovakia - ITALY, SLOVAKIA Group G: Brazil, Korea DPR, C?te d'Ivoire, Portugal - BRAZIL, PORTUGAL Group H: Spain, Switzerland, Honduras, Chile - SPAIN, CHILE
  5. I think Mark Hughes is doing a great job at Man City. I believe they've lost only once all season. That is a tough squad of players to keep under control with their history but all seems to be calm in Manchester. I think it's only a matter of time before they really kick on with Sparky in charge.
  6. Until the Taleban are eliminated I don't think we can walk away from that part of the world - from the atrocities they have committed on their own people, e.g. hanging women at packed football stadia, to the involvement in terrorism and the drug trade the world cannot afford them to prosper - they have to be stamped out.
  7. Nixon was Vice President of the US from 1953 to 1961 - and just missed out on becoming President in 1960 before becoming President in 1969.
  8. Strictly Come Dancing favourite Ricky Whittle has been arrested and is behind bars after an incident in the early hours. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/merseyside/8382550.stm
  9. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Everton Liverpool has the look of a relegation 6 > pointer to me......... Well let's hope not because I don't want us having to travel to Upton Park again next season ;-)
  10. Might have gained more support from World opinion if they'd just come out at the start and said we're going into eliminate a tyrant who for years has butchered his own people - and we also intend capturing the Iraqi Oil fields to rebuild Iraq and secure future fuel for the West, plus have another strategic base in the middle east.
  11. Well we've all thought of quitting I am sure and most ppl return at some point once their realise the futile nature of all other threads ;-)
  12. Just buy an obscure gift that is difficult to value
  13. Funny that isn't it we never get any Chelsea chit chat - as you'd imagine south London would be one of their heartlands but I guess that shows what a mickey mouse club they are even with all those billions they still have a small fanbase. Tbh SP although it's been great beating Chelsea and Arsenal at Anfield I'd rather knock out a top continental team - probably the only disappointment from 2005 was having a semi final trip to Stamford Bridge rather than the trip/scalp of Bayern Munich. It was such a damp squib being at the Bridge when you consider the rest of the route to winning the CL that season.
  14. I see the Blue sh*te have had their new stadium plan rejected.. So plan B is this bollox from the Everton CEO : "A shared stadium is perhaps an option if it's affordable. We have to look at where we can raise money, because potentially Liverpool will have to obviously contribute to that, and Liverpool City Council perhaps might need to find some money. Our history is one of creativity and innovation and if we are the first major English club to look at sharing then we're not scared of making those decisions."
  15. Obviously disappointed to see Liverpool knocked out of CL last night especially since they were in one of the weakest groups. Having said that there has been some good football in other groups. A few teams I've enjoyed watching with their technique and movement has been the Russian sides Rubin Kazan and CSKA - quite refreshing from the usual power and pace of the Premiership challenge. I think that the Russian challenge will only get stronger in coming seasons. Now wearing my neutral hat I hope we get back to no one country dominating the latter stages - as much as we found 3 Italian teams in the Semi finals boring I am sure the rest of the World have found 3 from the PL in each of the last 3 seasons being equally dull. ITV and Sky will, of course, not be happy..
  16. TOTTENHAM - First time I visited Tottenham was Football and our bus broke down - and when all the Spurs football supportes (&hooligans) had long departed home the Police rounded all 50 of us up from the bus and into a nearby Members only Pub for our own safety from the locals, and then the Police proceeded to circle the block for the next hour in their dog van...

  18. lol - goal- golden! Also on the Geordie Roll of Disgrace Honour is the Kirin Cup
  19. Thornton Heath Croydon
  20. Texaco Cup - won twice by Newcastle in their 2nd goal era
  21. These days I'm not really interested in either competition
  22. I think the League Cup is held in higher esteem than the Europa League - will just be a run out for those needing playing time, or at least that is how I hope it works out!
  23. It certainly feels like Groundhog Day at Anfield
  24. Aye the Thursday Cup, really looking forward to that one...
  25. Surprised with that as after losing first 7 (with a threadbare team) they looked to be bouncing back. 7 points from their last 6 league games is a better return than Rafa at Liverpool. But that's football isn't it. Maybe he has been ousted for Avram Grant who did a good job down at Chelsea.
