  1. Wasn't there recently a house up for sale on that road for ?2 million? Highest recorded sale price on Colyton Road was in 2007 for just under ?1m. There are a variety of house types on that road so it's difficult tibby, to judge whether 625k is a bargain.
  2. Newcastle have made their first signing of the season
  3. haha - very good!
  4. From wikipedia The aircraft was initially referred to in Britain as "Concorde," with the French spelling, but was officially changed to "Concord" by Harold Macmillan in response to a perceived slight by Charles de Gaulle. In 1967, at the French roll-out in Toulouse the British Government Minister for Technology, Tony Benn announced that he would change the spelling back to "Concorde."[7] This created a nationalist uproar that died down when Benn stated that the suffixed "e" represented "Excellence, England, Europe and Entente (Cordiale)." In his memoirs, he recounts a tale of a letter from an irate Scotsman claiming: "you talk about 'E' for England, but part of it is made in Scotland." Given Scotland's contribution of providing the nose cone for the aircraft, Benn replied "it was also 'E' for '?cosse' (the French name for Scotland) ? and I might have added 'e' for extravagance and 'e' for escalation as well!"
  5. Great penalty by James Milner - clearly the right kind of calibre to stand shoulder to shoulder next year at the World Cup with Lampard, Beckham and John Terry in the inevitable penalty shoot!!
  6. Yes they say an area has not made it til it has a Waitrose... in the meantime one of those Butchers from Rye Lane could do a roaring trade on Lordship Lane allowing the poor man to stop dining on potatoes and vinegar every night
  7. Hmmmm so Peckham has on it's doorstep 2 Tesco Express, Morrisons, Netto, and a Lidl... not to mention countless Grocers, Butchers and Fishmongers on Rye Lane who seem immune to having a nearby supermarket allegedly putting them out of business.. I wish Lordship Lane had a Tesco Express, maybe for a double fronted estate agents!
  8. Blinking eck!! Season almost upon us it seems, Wolves start pre-season training on Monday!! Here is list of other Premiership teams start date http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1195762/Time-pack-away-bucket-spade-Sportsmails-guide-Premier-League-clubs-return-pre-season.html?ITO=1490
  9. All these MJ fans say as a tribute, they will be listening to his music all day. I wonder what Hugh Hefner's fans will do when he dies ???
  10. I believe some more hardware has been sent in - just taken from Lordship Lane
  11. Police chopper is now overhead - they must have being having a late breakfast
  12. As I said lenk no air traffic to report - but camera on standby
  13. What rumours? No one has reported any sirens blaring, or helicopters in the air today so I'd say load of old cobblers
  14. Maybe sentiments would be different if Wacko Jacko had been found guilty
  15. I'll not be able to get there til later but I would say 7 p.m. would pretty much secure people staying right through into the evening. I think earlier and you may not have the numbers.
  16. A bit off the beaten track but Lidl advertise a Meal Deal (sandwich, crisps, drink) for 99p !!
  17. I'm not even gonna respond to that crap - it's below the belt and it stinks!
  18. Appears they want to demolish it to make way for a small block of 3 flats (a 2 bed, and two 1 bed) - based on the chaos for neighbours for probably upto 2 years I'd say well done the council for turning it down.
  19. It's opposite Peckham Park - so good views. But perhaps 30 minutes walk to nearest train station.
  20. alachlan Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Nice choice of timing I see so most people that > use it will be at work I'm sure it gives an opportunity to people who work at Kings to be there during their lunch hour - but there is also far greater chance of it hitting more news slots with a midday protest.
  21. I don't understand the reason for Harry Ellis the guy would be blown away if he was picked - it's not as if he ripped up any trees during the tour. I thought Mike Phillips had a terrific game once the pack was reinforced with Welsh muscle. I still think the Springboks will have the upper hand upfront for the 2nd Test. I think the late dominance of the Lions pack last week was somewhat influenced by the Boks withdrawing a number of their top forwards. I also think their Backs will have a point to prove this week. I reckon the Lions players will need to up their game to a brand new level to have any chance of winning.
  22. Why would you have been berated? If you mean my comment was motivated by it being a Man United fan you are jumping to an incorrect conclusion. When I wrote that post identification of it being a United fan had yet to be established. In actual fact I was responding to red devil alluding to it being a 180 which of course is impossible with a single dart.
  23. LOL, quite right, I might also have disrespected him by calling him David rather than Mr Pleat
  24. 5 changes for Saturday. Only big surprise for me is they've dropped Monye - who looked comfortable in the First Test making inroads.. not sure Fitzgerald has the physique to do that even if he does carry ball on correct side. Would like to have seen Martyn Williams selected so that the pack weren't so stiff. Other surprise is they've opted for O'Gara instead of Hook on bench. Backs: R Kearney (Ireland); T Bowe (Ireland), B O'Driscoll (Ireland), J Roberts (Wales), L Fitzgerald (Ireland); S Jones (Wales), M Phillips (Wales); Fowards: G Jenkins (Wales), M Rees (Wales), A Jones (Wales), S Shaw (England), P O'Connell (Ireland, capt), T Croft (England), D Wallace (Ireland), J Heaslip (Ireland). Bench: R Ford (Scotland), A Sheridan (England), A-W Jones (Wales), M Williams (Wales), H Ellis (England), R O'Gara (Ireland), S Williams (Wales).
