  1. Haha, no his prized asset is Liverpool F.C. - a cash cow if run properly, and a big part of that is having a winning team which means player signatures.. Sandperson it seems to me that more often than not someone has a jibe about United and then you respond with a personal insult - this latest one about a Turkish Cypriot being from a Greek island seems designed to provoke another war of words. If someone has a go about Liverpool then I try and defend it, maybe if I have a weak argument (which is not often) then I will turn the tables on other person's club (i.e. banter). Come on Sandperson you are better than that keep it clean!
  2. >> people are products of their environment, nobody is born "evil", nobody is born a murderer. Some people are a product of excuses.
  3. Clearly this may now come as a surprise to some of you, but the North Dulwich Triangle is so named because of the unresolved mystery as to why the Number 37 bus often disappears in this area. I'm sure you all know this as well, but the official architectural highlight of Lordship Lane is Foxtons, built from a blueprint by Sir Christopher Wren. On a sad note the celebrated Dallas Chicken n Ribs, where Gordan Ramsey cut his teeth, has just lost it's Michelin star..
  4. Asset Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "Vauxhall Bridge/Embankment/Earls Court/A40/M1" > > > You are joking with that one aren't you? No I'm not joking. I've done that route during early afternoon for many years and it's about 45 minutes from the Oval to the M1 - other routes such as through Archway always seemed to take double the time. Forgot to mention the North Circular, which joins A40 to M1. When returning late at night from M1 I take this direct route Brent Cross / Finchley Road / Swiss Cottage / Park Lane / Victoria
  5. Liverpool co-owner George Gillett has agreed to sell his Ice Hockey team for a reported ?330m. This should put Liverpool in a stronger financial position when it comes to the next round of loan contracts.
  6. Ah the conspiracy thinker back into the old grove!
  7. I was in Sainsbury's one evening about 2 weeks back and as I packed my bags I looked up and saw an Asian girl walk down the aisle and I must say she was electric - perhaps she was the same woman, I don't know. Nevertheless who ever she was she'll probably be chased by half of East Dulwich and it may be the same girl you saw Davy.
  8. Ah so Tevez is on his way out of Old Trafford ... a headless bull whose Country was sang lounder than that of George Best and Bobby Charlton, which tells you everything you need to know Atila I think Man U have more to worry about than replacing Tevez such as getting a decent midfield
  9. I don't know Horsebox and I'm not sure it's relevant
  10. Blinking eck what a game eh Mick Mac the EDT was rocking - well worth the attendance, rock on the Second Test
  11. Horses for courses - some kids need the strong arm of a parent or teacher (and I'm not talking abuse) to keep them under control whilst other's will bow to persuasive talk. There is no golden rule for everyone, never has been, never will be. Not having a Father figure, young Mother's - that has always existed. The only thing different is lack of discipline and punishment at all age levels. Until we get over it, we will head towards society becoming more lawless.
  12. Thought I'd tag it on this thread rather creating another one... but same kinda thing Just had to dash down Lordship Lane and there is a toddler helping a woman sell copies of the Big Issue.. the poor kid is tucked up in it's pushchair on the edge of the curb at the mercy of the road. I think that is a hell of a lot more shocking than aggressive beggars. I can just about understand the woman being outside Somerfield trying to make some money but surely a young child should not be exposed to this act.
  13. Bloody hell, Harry Redknapp is not going to be happy when he sees how Tom Huddlestone is keeping himself trim (on left of photo) - whilst on holiday with Aaron Lennon (on right). How on earth can a professional footballer develop a gut that big only 4 weeks since the season finished!
  14. >> then she wanted me to help her inside the house, i finally said no & bailed Who knows what things she'd have ordered you to do next... perhaps the sequel to Misery
  15. I think in most cases people are justified to enquire why a Police car and Ambulance are outside their home. Yes maybe someone is mentally ill, maybe it was domestic violence, I don't know. Whatever it is people are more likely to be asking out of concern for themselves and neighbours than to take pleasure from someone else's misfortune. I might be wrong but I'd hate to think people are that perversly minded. Whoever it was attended by the Ambulance, let's hope they make a full and swift recovery.
  16. Yes it'll be a real boost for the Lions having that support - but I don't think it will make much difference to South Africa as after all it was only back in November the Springboks won in Cardiff, Scotland and Twickenham. I'd imagine tomorrow will be the best time for the Lions to beat the Boks - since they may be slighty rusty, and they're missing the explosive Burger.
  17. Sean - I think the majority of such threads actually help put into perspective how little serious crime there is in East Dulwich. For instance, if crime is that bad would so much outrage have been posted in response to the recent stealing of second hands clothes dumped outside a charity shop?
  18. reggie Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I heard that the bloodshed was from broken bottles > and not knives. Bottles used as weapons. That sounds plausible as someone did mention wine bottles being stolen by these same kids on lordship lane shop prior to the bloodbath
  19. What we need is a vigilante squad monitoring for these diabolical incidents on the EDF - who can arrive in a specially commissioned EDF Fire Truck to hose these types off our streets back to where they come from!
  20. Oh what incident was that then Sandperson?
  21. I used the 'koala' button - but that will depend on your browser

  23. Yes Jamma he might have thought you were being sarcastic yourself whilst no doubt he felt publicly humiliated having been assigned crime tape duties rather than play the role of his boyhood hero sherlock holmes
  24. 2 p.m. kick off - although from past experience best to get to EDT about 1.30 p.m. to cement viewing position
  25. Agreed call the Police - besides you may also need a Police Crime number for insurance purposes?
