  1. >> It has full support from the SE5 Forum and the Camberwell Blog That is a very convincing argument...
  2. I guess antijen we'll have to hope the Police and Home Secretary don't abuse the new law like Terrorists and their Spin Doctors have previously abused their freedom
  3. I heard the Vale was having a big TV put in it's beer garden - so maybe you can watch it outdoors!
  4. I've no idea what PROSouthwark is banging on about - I know it's been a hot day but still...
  5. Martin Johnson lined the England team up where the Irish always stand in Dublin - instead of Ireland lining up in Away position, O'Driscall matched them down to the left of England but where the red carpet did not extend. This meant the female guest of honour had to tred on the rugby field rather than the red carpet when meeting the Irish.. it was a bit of a fiasco!
  6. Sean aren't the 3 without nets a basketball court?
  7. It'll be for the same reason Samuel Eto'o gives up playing alongside Henry, Messi, Xavi and Iniesta...
  8. O'Gara shook the Queen's hand with one hand in his pocket - when introduced at a royal reception to mark Ireland winning the Grand Slam. O'Gara then proceeded to place both hands in pockets whilst talking with the Queen.
  9. Blinking eck it's only now just landing back at Kings!
  10. Jacko's dad Joe Jackson has said the kids will be staying with him - heaven help 'em!
  11. Looks like another Helicopter has just touched down in East Dulwich, this one a Red Virgin chopper, over towards Barry Road area.
  12. Maybe the Prosecution and Defence, as is the custom, are keeping their powder dry until it goes to Court!? What I don't understand is why Beard keeps hitting the Return key leaving 3 blanks lines between each sentence!!!
  13. Welbeck is 18 years old, he's got a lot of hard work ahead of him to be a top player - I'd have thought the last thing you do with a kid is to basically tell him, son you've made it you could be going to South Africa next summer.. which is effectively what Ferguson's statement suggests. The comment by Fergie was made after the Italian has got ahead of him in the pecking order so it sounded like to me he needed a massive ego boost as his body language around the pitch doesn't say confidence.
  14. I believe it's only shops over a certain floor space that are restricted to 6 hours of retail business on a Sunday - for instance Budgens seem to be open all hours.
  15. >> Fergie spoke previously about Welbeck being in England's WC squad That suggests to me the lad suffers a huge lack of confidence, if Fergie feels he has to come out and make that kind of statement. From I've seen of Welbeck he is quite a way off from being a United regular never mind international. I don't think the big 4 (maybe the exception of Chelsea) can really move in the transfer market until City have completed their business otherwise their budgets will be blown apart by getting into price wars. I like Valencia - I am surprised he's not been linked with any other clubs.
  16. >> From what I can gather, theres is no area safer than the other, >> but I'm sure there are roads where you think "don't go down there after xx:xx" Nah I don't think it's that kind of area where certain streets are out of bounds late at night. You could also check out Google Maps to get more of a feel for individual roads. Personally I'd want to live 5 to 10 minutes from East Dulwich train station, and on a quiet street which for me would rule out anything on a bus route.

Dripping sweat on a shop floor is completely different to the pavement - hence why when it does not say on the Welcome to East Dulwich sign, 'remember to mop your brow on a hot day'
  18. I think the Lions have battled real hard, been very competitive, if anything they're restored much pride after the Clive Woodward debacle. If anything it'd be great to have the Lions tour every 3 years rather than 4.
  19. East Dulwich Grove - old site of Springers
  20. Running without a shirt is fine especially in the Park. Only place it might look out of place is down Lordship Lane.
  21. Look at the Met Police crime map - it breaks 'East Dulwich' SE22 down into Wards (i.e. South Camberwell, Peckham Rye, East Dulwich, Village), and also breaks each of those SE22 wards into sub wards. It seems crime levels are low right across SE22. http://maps.met.police.uk/ (put SE22 into Search box) For distance to train station best use the map for guidance.

Haha, I thought he was about 5'6" - I blame it on watching it down the EDT! ;-) Which incidently was an excellent atmosphere if not better than First Test. Definately going back down there for Third Test if anyone else interested let us know.
  23. In the 1st Test Monye glided through the Bok defence and made hard yardage. There is no reason why he should not be able to repeat that feat. Yes he might not know how to carry the ball, but I'd have thought that is something that can be rectified easier than the need to beef up Fitzgerald to make an impact. Shane Williams from 12 months ago would have been a different story but sadly unless these small guys are on top form they are being easily contained by brute force. From watching the first 2 Tests the Lions seemed to make most inroads by power rather than jinking runs and that is why I think the strength of Monye would have been better for the 2nd Test. I think the trickery of the Six Nations is fine up against Italy, Scotland, England - but against the All Blacks or South Africa it needs injecting with a lot more muscle.
  24. You may also consider the no-nonsense Nunhead approach http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,296212,296249#msg-296249
  25. It was a great game to watch and the Lions gave a good account of themselves, hopefully they can go into the final test and give another top performance. It will still be a huge achievement if the Lions can claim one win against the World Champions. In the end I think the Lions paid the price for not having Monye and Hook in the 22 man squad. There were a few tackles made on Shane Williams and Fitzgerald that emphasised the loss of not having Monye on the wing. As the injuries came the Lions also paid the penalty for not having Hook as a replacement. MOTM: Stephen Jones
