Xoco grill - closed for good - Memsaab now open...

Rotterdam, Hong Kong and various places in the USA. I suspect they're just called the same thing rather than a chain. -

No, it wasn't a chain. There were no other Xocos. -

I'm a grumpy middle-aged man and I can grab the 40 to London Bridge (and back) if necessary without going into meltdown. I could start a support group :-)

Find a neighbour or friends with kids at the school. Or drop the kids off early. If your job was at risk, I'm sure you'd be creative :-)

But our 'metro' service has been nowhere near as bad as the longer-distance Southern services. And if you live in Brighton, there's not much alternative to the train if you're a commuter. If you live in East Dulwich and if you were seriously at risk of losing your job, surely you'd get up half an hour earlier and jump on a bus.

Though as my cynical old English teacher used to say, "Better be a hypocrite than wrong all the time..."

And before it on that spot The Last Days of the Raj. That was our takeaway/delivery of choice when the kids were little and we went out less.

Sadly lost 2-0 at Macclesfield. Fighting performance and a brilliant cup run. Now to get into the league playoffs...

1-0 away win at Worthing. And Macclesfield got tonked 3-0 at Forest Green, so everything to play for in Tuesday's FA Trophy replay.

Don't forget, there are only four days left to make your VIEWS known to the Planning Inspectorate. To comment on the original planning application 16/AP/1232 to build on Green Dale and DHFC stadium go to this website and click the "make representation" button at the top: https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/ViewCase.aspx?caseid=3164823 -
Now rearranged for next Tuesday March 7th.

Tonight's replay has been postponed due to snow. The clubs are looking to rearrange for later in the week.

Well, set-aside was abolished in 2008, so maybe he should keep up. EU farming payments are now based on size of farm under agriculture/pasture so, yes, there's no need to actually grow anything in order to get your cheque. But there's nothing stopping you from doing so.

There's footage from DHTV of the two Hamlet goals. The highlights will take a couple of days, I think.

2-2 draw. Excellent late equaliser from Ashley Carew and a fine, fighting performance from our boys. Big crowd of 2,834. Replay at Macclesfield on Tuesday.

Trackside fires and signal failures are hardly the responsiblity of Southern Rail ? tossers though they are. -

I agree, but it might have been less cruel if Fuller's hadn't continued with the fiction that they were doing everything they could to preserve the live music. No doubt they'll have a jazz-lite singer-guitarist serenading the weekend diners and think that's pretty much the same...

Why are Walkers the best selling crisps in the UK when....
BrandNewGuy replied to DovertheRoad's topic in The Lounge
I always liked Snaps at the cheap end of crisps. Made by Smiths I think. Spicy tomato flavour, friendly dragon on the packet. Yum. -
I suspect you're being too kind to the media ? all that aggressive behaviour is catnip to them and their audiences. I have no illusions about the problems this country faces ? and the extent to which airing unpleasant and downright ugly views has increased ? but I remain unconvinced that we are being or are about to be overrun by violent racists. Perhaps Emma Thompson, though, still feels that we are "a cake-filled misery-laden grey old island".

A January poll suggests a far lower concern over immigration than has been suggested. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/jan/21/immigration-lowest-priority-young-people-brexit-poll The Guardian saw fit to highlight the young people / old people divide, but admits "Reducing immigration scored far higher among the over-55 age group (7.63) though even among these voters it was still not seen as important as 12 other issues." Which included protecting human rights, preventing hate crime, ensuring public services are well funded, reducing poverty... I certainly wouldn't want to paint a rosy post-referendum picture of the problems we face and the backtracking on the Dubs Scheme is shameful, but the 'hateful little grey island' meme is getting a little tiresome.

The latest version of the New Southwark Plan talks about rebuilding/reopening Camberwell station on the railway line, but I think last time this was mooted, Network Rail was lukewarm about the idea, to say the least. http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/c/camberwell_new_road/
