  1. I was in Hoopers on Saturday and was charged just ?3 for a pint of Fosters, I think.
  2. Now no, I stand corrected.
  3. Mick, big hoops man myself but hats off to Rangers' McCoist and Smith following explosive devices bollocks. Smith particularly poignant in expressing happiness in the fact that this will be his last Glasgow derby speaks volumes. I'm born and bred in Liverpool and despite media rhetoric, there is no love lost between the two sides, yet Glasgow is a different ball game altogether. I think and hope that Smith's denouncing of recent events might help nullify all future pointless sectarianism.
  4. Now No you have the authenticity and belonging of a Norwegian kopite.
  5. LM, as an Evertonian I have zero complaints. In fairness, it should have been 3-0 at half time. Despite Rooney's protestations, I would have loved a victory today but overall, I have to say we have been shit this season and should consider ourselves lucky that we aren't in the unfortunat category of relegation fodder.
  6. Does anyone else find close ups of Bleakley nauseating?
  7. I know that, I also know that some directors and producers are much more hands on with locations, castings etc than others, hence, I was suggesting that your lol was somewhat patronising.
  8. a bit patronising to 'lol' over a suggestion about directors not choosing locations. In fact, many directors do like to be involved in location scouting (in consultation with producers and location managers).
  9. there is more than one toffee in the area, fantastic!
  10. Hi, there are lots of different places showing the footy. My personal fave is the Crystal Palace Tavern (CPT), also, if you want a Sat 3pm ko game live, the Vale usually obliges.
  11. Wenger is fast becoming an embarrassment, his petulance is not becoming. He should have stepped down at least two year's ago.
  12. Question, What do Philippoussis, South Africa and Arsenal all have in common?
  13. 'Carra' is a dirty player, he's also a good player. Likewise Scholes, M123, get over it.
  14. The Indy today has front cover splash 'save our cyclists'. Sober reading
  15. I often think about what people on the forum 'really' look like. This, of course is just my imagination... I have Huguenot as handsome, middle aged, middle class man with longish hair that is swept back put keeps falling over his eyes, which permits him the annoying habit of constantly tossing his head in an attempt to flick it back. He does this every time he reads a post that annoys him, which, is most of the time. He's attired in expensive, casual clothes, yet, he still manages to appear slightly scruffy but given his slight eccentric tendencies, he cares little. His dark green jumbo corduroy trousers have been faithful servants for many winters and rather uncomfortably, many summers too. On a hot day, he allows himself the privilege of a short sleeve shirt (all buttons fastened to the top), as he strolls down to the newsagents to fetch his paper of choice, he catches a glimpse of himself in a shop window. He realises his shirt is unironed, he quickly ignores this fact as he catches glimpse of a screaming headline rant fronting one of the papers on show. Tutting his way back home, he has already penned his latest EDF post in his head. The kettle clicks as the laptop pops open, Huguenot's huge fingers scroll down to 'East Dulwich Forum' and eventually he finds the 'start a new thread section'... the next two hours of the day are neatly taken care of.
  16. Henryb that is exactly what I was saying. The odd instance would be fine but on a busy road choc full of bikes it becomes a bit like the tour de france with idiots racing each-other, if you don't believe me, head down the embankment towards Victoria around about 8.15.
  17. For me, most cyclists are generally considerate. However, it's the idiots who race each-other that really p me off. I have to admit, this occurs mostly with male cyclists who think nothing of over taking their 'slower' counterparts whilst taking over most of the road to do so. If you must overtake, why not wait for a sensible opportunity?
  18. Not any more Simon!, Oh Lancy, Lancy!!!
  19. Agreed Annasfield. All I'm asked about regarding the National is the orange-faced ladies, lazy, boring journalism but I suppose that's what sells, copies of the Daily Mail.
  20. Partridge eat your heart out. 'Honestly, this country'.
  21. Ok, I agree nice to have and must have, fair enough. I do find it interesting that some are opposed merely because it's Irish.
  22. My point wasn't that the council should provide a festival to placate the needy. That was a side point, apologies for not making myself clear. What I was trying to say was that a fraction of the local authority's budget should cover local cultural events,if the festival helps ring members of the community together, perhaps then, its worth a bob or two of the local purse. Not everything needs to fall foul to a monetaristic argument, or perhaps I need to lift my head from the sand?
  23. Not everyone will have the means to attend festivals. Besides,, a 'free' festival just might help the local populous engage as a community. The fact that it is Irish, mexican or swedish isn't the point. It's a theme, designed at offering southwark rate payers some thing different.
