  1. Lard - I don't think you can blame spending power for rafa's lack of sucess in the Premiership and in comparing spending with United you are likely to be on a loser in that when you do the Spending v Premiership titles ratio there is only one winner. I'm with SP , they buy one or two quality players per season, and those who are good stick around and provide quality returns to the club for years - Rafa's policy is more lucky dip. But at the end of the day Rafa underachieves in my opinion. Interesting that you think he overachieves. I think its very honourable that so many Pool fans back him, but I think its time for a change and see what someone else can achieve. (Sorry Anna)
  2. Well put Quids. Some of the older ones having a mid life crisis.
  3. good to see you survived quids. Anna im not going as no tickets available that i could find. Im sure i may have been able to get an arsenal ticket through work but could not bear to be there if we get embarrassed. 2 goals is too much i imagine.
  4. You mean this guy? Gazza Edited as suddenly realised you might know him (so of course he is a good guy). But I have not seen him since university and only knew him for a year. Seems to be doing very well. He was a very positive person.

  6. You're scaring me Monica. I knew I should have stayed clear of this thread.
  7. So Anna - what's the current feeling on Rafa in the Kop?
  8. Thanks for that Rosie - you are sure in the mood for quotes and rectangular box combos tonight. Best get it all out.
  9. I just thought I'd ask before someone else did. I'm sure they'll be queing up to chat to you Monica.
  10. I used to get egg fried rice and curry sauce from the local curry house for 99p on the way home from the pub when I was a lad (late 1980s). But soggy chips I don't like at all, so curry chips is a no go for me.
  11. Are you coming to the next drinks Monica?
  12. Funny that this thread started by BBW having wanted to say something nice about ED and it end up in a spelling and grammar lesson for him. Bless him, he was only being nice.

  14. Matthew only understands the UEFA "badge of hounour" for 5 time winners - stars are for non achievers in his eyes.

  16. Eh - I'm not Scottish, Atila - I'm Irish. But I'm sure I'm a nasty type anyway.
  17. You could blow an Arsenal player over from your desk at work.

    Scotland?

no point now the US public has boycotted its whisky in response to lockerbie release. The whisky was the best bit.
  19. all very quiet on the celtic arsenal game for which i apologise but obviously not too confident. But arsenal fans are not up for banter so would be wasting my time as all i get it return is big fish small pond. Will however say that we have not given up. We shall fight, to the death, (if the referee allows tackles this week of course).

  21. liverpool now 9 to 1 on betfair for the title. 4th favourites. Not good but good odds if you are a fan and think they can turn it around.
  22. Apparently Robbie Keane to be used in swop deal with Celtic's Scott Brown is latest rumour.

Matt - don't let Atila hear you talking about a Big3.
  24. and 2 lucky ones at that. But celtic are a different class. Think arsenal are stronger this year though and man united and liverpool may be weaker.i will find not next week against mu how good they are.
