He'll probably score so many goals for MU that he can bankrupt them as well, on his pay as you score deal.

They were nice Rosie - not too firm, not too soft (if you grade your meatballs the same way I do). Its on Forest Hill road - come out of the Herne Tavern and turn right up the hill on the right hand side.

Cheers Quids - I hope not to get EDF withdrawal symptons whilst away. If I can find a way to post I will, as soon as my wife goes to bed as she is not so keen on me posting in "family" time. :(
-
Yes - very funny Rosie - I did laugh, honest. :)) If I take your point correctly, the meatballs were not a main dish - they were on the pasta dishes (not strictly main courses)....but very nice none the less.

Football's top ten mercenaries - The Times by Peter Lansley 1. Sven-Goran Eriksson ? obviously. 2. Ashley Cole ? Cashley came over all indignant and nearly crashed the car when he heard Arsenal were only offering him ?55,000 a week. All together now..... aahh. 3. Pierre Van Hooijdonk ? comes in this high in the rankings for the wonderful quote when he spurned Celtic's contract offer in 1997. ??7,000 a week would be fine for the homeless,? he philosophised, ?but not for me.? Joined Nottingham Forest for ?4.5million then went on strike for 11 games when he found out the team was rubbish. 4. Gareth Barry ? a family man of integrity, played his heart out for Aston Villa after they effectively vetoed his transfer to Liverpool, then decided, upon being granted permission to fulfil his dream of moving to a Champions League club, to take (rumour has it) ?150,000 a week from Manchester City. 5. Winston Bogarde ? earned ?8.3million in a four-year contract with Chelsea in which he started four games. At least his weekly ?40,000 softened the travel costs of commuting from Amsterdam to train with the youth team by the end. ?I am the biggest outcast in England,? he wailed. Wonder why that was, Winston? 6. Fabrizio Ravanelli ? loved Middlesbrough (?all I have for these fans is love?), loved Marseille (?it is my own little paradise?), loved Derby County (?Maybe I will pay for free? Money is not important to me?), notwithstanding their insistence on paying him ?40,000 a week as the club sank towards League One. 7. Carlo Tevez ? love that "Welcome to Manchester" sign they've put up in the city centre, with Sheffield United's favourite Argentinian in the blue of City. So unloved at Manchester United they paid him ?90,000 a week and only played him 48 times last season, including a Champions League final, he soon found solace in an extra ?40k a week. 8. Ronaldo ? Massimo Moratti, the Inter president, financed the Brazilian's treatment, counselling and ?72,000 weekly wage for nearly three years of injury before he defied everyone's denials by moving to Real Madrid. 9. Luis Figo ? faced flying bottles, a knife and, urm, a pig's head from the Barca fans who used to adore him when he returned with Real Madrid on ?72k a week (netto). ?My conscience is clear,? he said. ?I thought uniquely of myself.? Fantastic honesty. 10. Fabio Capello ? maybe a little harsh. At least he backs up his ?6million annual salary by actually being very good at his job.

I knew I could make you laugh Atila.....I know you're just a soft lad at heart.

I will be on hols from this weekend so won't bet but I'd probably try Tartan Bearer. Conduit looked very good but was a way behind Rip van winkle last time out so there must be some doubts about him.

Have not decided on my English team for this year - maybe Arsenal, depends who they buy. Really depends who I bet on, but I think its too difficult to call. Liverpool surprised me with how well they played in second half of last year. MU will obviously be in the mix, Chelsea who knows with new manager.

Yes MP - they were completely fully booked so as far as running a successful business they are doing everything right. I have nothing negative about Si Mangia apart from the music and the parties on Saturday night. As I said I would recommend a week night visit rather than a Saturday night, I have only been once but will be going again soon prob for lunch with the children. I had gone to a central London Italian for lunch on Friday and had a different Italian dining experience. It was small, little circular tables, white linen tablecloths, elderly Italian gentlemen serving. It was a little like the restaurants in the Godfather movies. If anyone wants a recommendation for an Italian in London its Biagi's Upper Berkeley Street in Marylebone. It's been around a long time. It has an independent feel to it and is not expensive. So perhaps my expectations were a bit high after that.

i think i did give it a fair write up mm. As i say the food was good but a mid week visit might be better next time.

Last week was excellent BBW, probably better than this week (except for the obvious highlights this week)

Si Mangia Went there for the first time on Saturday night and we thought the food was good. But overall the experience was just an ok one. The food was very good but not great. It seems to do the basics well. There is a lot of fish in the starter menu, prawns, calcmari and scallops and a lot of chicken *too much maybe) on the main menu. No veal and only one meat dish on the mains menu being fillet steak (not counting the sausage dish). I had the calves liver pate for starter and meatballs with fettuccini for main, both were good. A bottle of Chianti was ?21 which was fine. Unfortunately what was bad was it had two huge and noisy tables in the main restaurant, with about 15-20 people on each, one of which was a 50th birthday, so it was incredibly noisy. We had lots of happy birthday singing and the lights dimmed for a birthday cake to be presented, all a bit tacky. Also I was sitting under a speaker which played a whole Bryan Adams best of album the whole time we were there, and played it loud. Run to you, Anything I do etc, all his 80s/90s hits. Surely something more Italian would set the Italian restaurant scene better. If I were to try it again I'd probably try it midweek and hope to get a quiet night to experience it in a different light, but unfortunatley it seems to see itself as a party place on a Saturday night. But it was absolutely jammed so why would they want to change?

No ta - I have cheesecake here Davey, my fav.

Well this episode features Anna Friel and it took 1.5 mins into the episode before Anna got her boobs out in the shower. Shocking. Just 1.5 mins after the watershed. I could easily have missed that. Worth watching though - Jimmy McGovern always builds a fantastic plot. The previous week with Timothy Spall and Bob Hoskins was superb. Its fantastic that the BBC can put such a strong cast list together. Real Drama.

Is Beckham the new Cantona? After the referee blew for half time, Beckham tried to hurdle an advertising boarding and appeared to make a "come on" gesture towards fans. In response, one man left his seat, jumped down on to the pitch and attempted to run towards Beckham. At this point security intervened and escorted Beckham to the changing room, while removing the fan from the pitch

I'm with Keef, the simpler the better, rather then the versions that require weekly review. The official premiership one is I think not a good one, we use it at work, you get too many transfers and have to review the likely starting line ups every week.

Had a covering bet on Cink today to win ?70 - but a ?20 loss overall on all my Open bets. But the biggest disappointment is that Watson and Westwood missed their chance. Cink did not have to deal with the pressure of having the lead, so I'd almost have preferred anyone else ahead of him, another American nobody wins the Open to add to Ben Curtis, Todd Hamilton etc. Having said that it was the most exciting Open for years, great entertainment. Poor Tom, should have the claret jug tonight but for the second shot running through the green at 18. Watson was one of my/everyones boyhood heros. Very sad.
-
Looks grim for Tom in play off - would be very said if he lost.
-
Yeah - well done Declan.;-)
-
Had covere both Watson and Cink - Watson will give me an overall profit, Cink I'll lose a tenner, so all worked out ok, but Westwood, feel for him.
-
Westwood in pole position currently - Watson holding it together nicely - hope its between these 2 going down the strip,
-
What about this Italian amateur - 3 under for 10 and level par. Great performance.
-
Would be nice to see a home winner: Westwood :)) Fisher :'( If Fisher's wife goes into labour on the back nine Sunday, that will test his convictions.
