  1. might try to make it along sun afternoon. Nice to see them make an effort to get people in and not to rip them off on price. Sounds great.
  2. I think she likes you Andy, she is tracking you. Are you sure its a real baby, may just be a decoy.
  3. To be honest RD - would not have considered this meeting if you had not posted about it. So am pleased my attention was diverted. Winner seemed an abvious choice, but we have all seen the obvious choices lose before now. BTW - Rip van Winkle has been withdrawn from the King George and will now run in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood. Its going to win a Group 1 soon, I think, hope etc.
  4. Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just placed that bet before going into a meeting - so chuffed - ?50 @ 7/4. Family can eat meat again for the rest of the week - no more gruel.
  5. The ground is good according to racing post. Goldikova now 7/4 with Paddy Power, so it has some support and might back it. It seems to be the class horse. I usually allow for one bad performance first time out for the season so ignoring her last race she has a great record. The last race has introduced some unceertainty in the pricing, otherwise she would be very short. Depends therefore if you think the last race was just a hiccup - I am taking the view it was.
  6. If he's an Aussie, get him an ashtray with ashes in it, he'll see the funny side I'm sure, its what they all seem to want. Or a BBQ or a few tinnies of Fosters. A hat with corks hanging from it, a crocodile dundee knife, a tee shirt with no sleeves? Spray on blonde hair, or arrogance tablets? There are loads of things you can get him. Oh, ok he's got all those already.;-)
  7. Why would TLS not be priority in 1983 though ontheedge? 10 years is a long time to wait IMO. We should listen to those people who have real experience of this situation, ahead of those who only have a theoretical point of view.
  8. I've been drunk a hundred times, as drunk as drunk can be, but sirlion steak with whiskers on, I have never seen before...
  9. Oh Bob.
  10. Is he wearing high heels?
  11. cmon matt. Just a little joke. I might even support liverpool this term.
  12. That will be most of the time then Phil.

Jeez - I can understand that he would want to leave - noone could get by in Liverpool on only ?69,000 a week. You'd have to beg, borrow and steal to survive - like the rest of them.

  16. Very sad English ones. Not a soda farl in sight.
  17. I reckon in Madrid's first derby game with Barca someone will stick their finger in Ronaldo's eye. A bit of revenge for the suffering their Barcelona brethern suffered when in England.
  18. If I had known it was on, I'd have gone...I'm sure my English wife and English children (apparently) kept this from me. I'm a foreigner in my own house.

LOL - very good.
  20. It seems everyone on the forum speaks spanish apart from me - I could not understand a word he was saying. But i'm sure it can be roughly translated as "boll*cks"
  21. Radio 5 have spent the last half hour live from Madrid covering Ronaldo's arrival party - what a piece of joke radio coverage. Who cares - we have seen enough of him. They seemed to be waiting for the Ronaldo arrival speech and then were surprised that he was speaking in Spanish. Doh.
  22. If you leave money on the table its clearly for the staff - but if there is a service charge on the bill automatically I don't think you can tell them what to do with it.
  23. marc antoine fortune is in glasgow for signing talks apparently. If he does sign he will have chosen celtic ahead of more money on offer from premiership clubs (incl west ham) but celtic could still mess it up i guess.
  24. I would have thought (I understand its contrary to what people have said above and I may be completely wrong) that the waiting staff would have no automatic right to the service charge whatsoever (unless it is so stated in their contract). I would have thought in a triple michelin star restaurant the service charges would run to several thousand pounds per night and I'd be very surprised if it went to the staff, apart form of course, forming part of the restaurant's turnover which is used to pay all staff salaries from. [this is a completley separate issue from BN5s point about waiting staff being paid below the minimum wage and having it topped up to minimum wage levels with tips/service charge]
  25. I have resolved the bakewell slices issue - they were for the kids lunches. Relief.
