  1. Oh - is he a comic / funny man? I did not realise - the next time he makes a joke tell him to put a ":))" after it and we will all know he was joking.
  2. How can Chumley Worpingston credit the ills of this government to an Irish dominance? And as regards the Lions - lets go again with a majority of below standard English players as Woodward did last time in NZ and ignore the Six Nations champions of the last two years and see how far we get. What English player deserves to lead the Lions. What a pathetic comment.

  4. Spurs 1 - 2 Arsenal White Hart Lane 1987 League Cup Semi Final I was an Arsenal fan then, which surprises even me (prompted by Charlie Nicolas joining them from Celtic) but I remember this one - Arsenal trailed Spurs by 1-0 with about 5 minutes remaining - cue two late goals, the winner from David Rocastle. It was such a big win for the Gooners that Arsenal even named a fanzine after it - One nil down two one up - as a permanent reminder the Spurs fans of the defeat. The match marked a change in the fortunes of the 2 North London clubs - Arsenal were on the up after years in the wilderness and Spurs were set to struggle (with the exception of the Venables years).

  6. Did you write back?
  7. Well I was in Ireland then and English football holliganism seemed like a world away - we could not really understand it, but if you say it was the norm then so be it, but I doubt I would have been involved.
  8. The secret is to bring your own drink to Thai Corner Cafe, quickly drink it and run back to Green and Blue where you brought you own food. Repeat the process until full and full.
  9. Absolutely BRILLIANT dukesdenver.
  10. I'm amazed anyone would come on and profess/confess to beimg a football hooligan Acid - surely you would be ashamed of that and keep it quiet?
  11. Yes - happy birthday A&L.
  12. I remember that fight David - It was one of those fights that noone wanted to miss. I once saw Hugh McIlvanney interview Leonard a few years after that fight - at the end of the interview McIlvanney said to Leonard that he thought Hagler won the fight - it was a good job he said it at the end of the interview otherwise there may not have been an interview, as Leonard was not impressed. Excellent footgage - enjoyed watching that.
  13. No not really.
  14. Is that the detective duo Paul Dark and Hand Some?
  15. I thought everyone knew the police used their lights and sirens to pick up their F&C every Friday night? Did the Sea Cow employee perhaps hand over a brown paper bag? in return for cash? thought as much. Noone likes cold fish and if I had a siren I would use it too.
  16. Lester Piggott: The jailbird soars again In 1987, having retired from racing two years earlier and switched to training at his Eve Lodge Stables, Lester Piggot was jailed for three years for tax irregularities and eventually served 366 days before being released on parole. In 1990, having been stripped of his OBE on his release from jail, he stunned the racing world by returning to competitive racing at the age of 55, and crowned an extraordinary comeback by winning the Breeders? Cup Mile on Royal Academy. As if to prove it was no fluke, he won his final Classic two years later when he took the 2,000 Guineas on Rodrigo de Triano. Piggott finally retired for good two years later, having ridden nine Derby winners and been champion jockey on 11 occasions.
  17. "room on top" - what does this mean?
  18. Yes - we can see it Anna - you are clearly very emotionally attached to LFC, and it would have been fitting if they had won last night.
  19. Keef - I don't think you were wrong to start this thread at all. It has shown us that some people find it very emotitive, however I think you initial point is correct, there is no real value in pursuing this further IMO - however the emergency services involved will have ensured that Hillsborough will not happen again - and the emergency services can learn that without having to be taken to court. Many people made hugely significant human error mistakes that day, but you can make mistakes without it being negligence.
  20. What did the banner say Anna?
  21. Did not see it tonight Keef - but yes - he's a twat make no mistake. Obviously did not do himself any favours tonight either. It seems the Liverpool fans were having a quiet night in tonight? Who was fired?
  22. I'm in agreement with that Keef - let them rest. It was an awful accident, the blame game does not help.
  23. Arthur also has Kiera Knightley's luvly face,..and shoulders...and .... Also - she's pretty handy with a bow and arrow - which I did not know. And that's on top of being a great footballer too. She has many talents indeed - not just a pretty face.
